the rims are 7.5 wide, with either an offset of ET20 or ET42 - these are the manufacturers specs but the guy with the wheels hasn't checked - they were on an R31 skyline so does anyone know which offset it is likely to be? cheers! no pics yet cc

hey i'm thinking of getting 19's with the following tyre specs: 225/35/19 will they fit under the lowered cef easily? I should be able to have a test fit but just want to know if it's worth trying. will they still be legal? cheers! Luke

hahaha well mines stock as a rock apart from a little boost uppage, so i dunno what i'm likely to get but i'm sure it wont be very impressive. I am just coming to see the other cefiros go at it!

ja i will come - if anyones rolling past chatswood to use the waringah / pittwater road way (pretty much the most direct route i know of if your on the north side) to get there gimme a message and we can do a morning cruise to dee why together... ceffie, cc and so on? we can suss out my boost levels questions hopefully.

awesome stuff! the car looks like a weapon of a machine on track! -
haha no its off a jap site, just check out the source of the images, and cut the image ref off the end to see the site. I had been googling in images for 'cefiro' and found one of the those pics..

Wohoo my car didn't blow up!
kursed replied to someonestolecc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
thats your idea of a sleeper? with that kind of layout i'd expect it to be a thrash car! I had always thought of a sleeper as stock on the outside and a weapon under the hoodside.. :headspin: -
yeah i just figured that out from another post. oops. but anyway, i dunno too many languages that spell any of their words with 25 of the same characters :headspin:

why do you keep doing these gibberish posts in peoples threads? back to topic i have found using the overdrive button during normal driving might save you petrol... i fill up one day later when i leave it on for a week... I should properly test that one day.
-
no i haven't... several people on this board told me it was unneccessary, but some did say it was safer to do so. I really don't hammer my car, maybe once a week i might give it a squirt for a minute or two thats it (and thats at night when i need a drive to clear the mind), otherwise its cefiro in peak hour down pacific highway... on that note i have seen 2 white ceffies booting round my area, one was driven by a 50+ yr old white haired dude! ahhaha

i think a few of your misread what I wrote - it has spiked to just under 1 bar twice. both times under heavy acceleration in cold weather. it runs between 11 - 12psi 99% of the time. - I am NOT running 14psi as standard. In any case I am going to wind it back a smidgen to 10-11 just in case till it have done some other stuff. cheers for the replies oh and riveside have you seen a gauge bounce the needle higher under quick acceleration? I had wondered this too - if it was just a bit of extra movement in the needle...
-
hmm i was thinking of the full exhaust first. the fmic will act like a buffer for the boost right? make it safer in the event of spikes?
-
it certainly feels quicker when it winds up! Haven't really had a chance to stretch its legs on a highway or anything yet.... stupid suburb 50km/hr zones... So you think i should wind it back a tad... hmmm anyone else had this happen?

hey fellas. got a quick q. now that i have installed my new boost gauge and bleed valve, I am interested to know what others experiences have been with their boost settings. I set it to peak at 0.8bar and it does this 98% of the time - i was aiming for around 11-12 psi. I took if for a spin last night and i noticed that twice now in cooler weather it will occasionaly wind up to just under 1bar. I am guessing this is the spiking issue I have heard some of you talk about in the past from bleed valves. My Q. is should I be setting the boost lower so that it only ever peaks out at .8 and so would 98% of the time run to around .7? Should I keep it the same and accept there will be the occasional spike? 1 bar equals about 14.5psi right... So its probably peaked to about 14psi 2 or 3 times so far. cheers peeps

I was in quick fit in hornsby today getting some stuff done to the ceff. I scoped out a full 3" system, inc dump / high flow cat for $1500 installed (and epa untouchable). He was a nice enough guy, as soon as I told him I knew a few other ceffy / silvia / cefiro owners he got even nicer i'm sure i could sort out a group price if a few people were keen... I'm not keen at $1500 just yet, but if we could get it down to around $1200 - 1300 I'd go through with it in a month or two...

well in that case, I left a message that same afternoon on your phone requesting to be booked in for a service and the install of the parts i mentioned, left both of my numbers and never got a call back (two weeks ago). my phone is always on and with me so I am sure i never got a call back. I did however get really good service (joanne I think it was) and advice when i was in store. Might want to make sure there is some quality control with return calls as it lots you a few hundred dollars worth of business (I decided if they cant call me back they dont want my business). Not having a beef, just letting you know for future customers sake. cheers Luke

i gave them a call today, booked in for friday. will post up how it went if I go through with the work. luke

no, i came in looking for an apillar gauge holder (oops sorry that was two weekends ago not last weekend). You work there?
-
i have no issue with travelling, however for convenience (i work in hornsby) I thought there might be a decent workshop around here considering how many mechanics there are located around here... I went out to Advan on the weekend, they look very professional out there... I also went to powerplay, (which is close to my house) how do they rate? I will look into unique too. thanks for the fast replies fellas. luke
