  1. depends on who the 3 day tune is with. some charge money for doing nothing, others spend lots of time on cold start and warmup, with a power fc thats not really needed. I could tune that car and get it going good in under 2 hours. as long as everything is setup, a pro tuner said to me yesterday which has really stuck, the setup is 95% of the tune, the dyno work is the easiest and fun part which really opened a can of worms for me. "if your on the dyno for longer then a hour or so then you have not got your setup right or you don't know what your doing" hmmm he is right power fc = eliminate setup time because they are engineered for the particular car.
  2. not sure whats going on with the SM4, it was only on loan
  3. hahahaa! i asked for that one Gap your plugs to .7 and try again. new bcpr7es NGK's will be fine gapped to .7
  4. guess who has put a order in for a plugin
  5. it also depends on a dyno and the ramp rates, if i tune something the Dyno Dynamics 2wd dyno anything over 210rwkw i would prefer to strap down, but on another mates Mainline dyno i can get away with having 300rwkw cars on there with no straps. chalk and cheese, the dyno operator should know his dyno well enough to make judgement.
  6. ohhh no a missfire ?? was anybody hurt?
  7. bahhh its all for the love! expect anywhere from 40 to 80 rwkw increase in power 2rismo
  8. The ragged edge is suicidal....! especialy with normal fuel's With E85 it loses power before it detonates, so if your running on the edge with e85 you have a tune that is soooo far off from making max torque and power its not funny. Say i would make max power at 25deg, i could turn it up to 35 and just lose power and torque with no detonation with e85 (this has not been tested but I am guessing for an example)
  9. Why would you tune any engine on the ragged edge unless your a fool with lots of money.
  10. i got a decent 4 channel amp at home, you can have it for $70 delivered. i cannot remember the brand but its a good USA brand. let me know if interested and il get you details
  11. everyone forget about GCG ?
  12. i would think proengines knows what he is talking about when it comes to engine components.
  13. someone buy awesome product! shoot flames and bbq your mates bumper
  14. mine is a daily driver. It has over 310,000km's on the clock... 130,000km's of that was done with a Rb30 bottom end. It drives nice, average fuel economy is 400km to a tank
  15. how many blocks did you get? Yes you can machine them to suit turbo with no issues.
  16. might cruise into newy at about 8 if your still around
  17. Your right on the money there mate
  18. Boost control kit sold. Gizzmo launch interface still for sale!!
  19. sweet. So i take it your going to come down and bring my spare gearbox and diff in the jeep? besides.. i need you to help me replace any bits that go kaboom
  20. HELL YEAH!!! I will hold you to this one mate.. i know where you are
  21. yeah i did, i am thinking i just need a bigger sump, and a little more oil with some cooling. I will be down for there about 5 days so sure why not its going to be a big one this year because we will be there for NYE, whats to do in ACT on NYE ?
  22. Finally... something along the lines i am looking for... Yes your right there will be no g forces except for circle whips which won't be much..... Maybe i just need extra cooling for the job ? i am thinking once the wheels are spinnning i won't need to be on full throttle and i should be able to drop the revs down to 5,500rpm or so.... interesting.. might chuck on some tyres and do some test runs to see how this car goes doing burnouts
  23. will be fine unless you change the injectors
  24. I am going to summernats this year and was thinking about entering the burnout comp, I also would like to enter power cruise next year as well. My question is, about the RB oil issues, I know there are problems with high revs and oil control but my question is, how about reving high for 2 minutes flat? 4th gear and 240km'h wheel spin at 6000 to 7000 rpm, I was thinking that it may be impossible without a dry sump setup and some serious oil returns. Anyone have any ideas ? or should i just scrap the whole idea alltogether. I am not going to go with a dry sump setup, i just do not want to spend that kinda money when i will only really need it for burnouts. I am a big burnout fan from years ago, I have won a few comps but back then the other cars are nothing compared to what I will be up against at these events. So yeah I know its been covered before for track cars and street cars, but what about 6000rpm for 2 minutes flat. I will be spraying water over the radiator & oil cooler to keep the temps at acceptable levels. I am running a N1 pump, so it would probly empty the sump completly after about 30 seconds or less any ideas anyone?
  25. yes you should be able too, i have dyno'd cars with broken gears before, as long as 4th is ok
