are they the 20b rotary coupe things? don't see many of them around. not real big on the styling, and the toyota v8 sounds awesome. i looked at q45 infiniti's too but you get so much with the celsior, and they look better.
-
any ideas?
-
yep, sadly i'm pretty sure the rb will not be seen after r34. judging by the quad exhaust the new gtr will more than likely be V8 too...

Installing Clear Side Indicators
thommo replied to Munna's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
it's a little bit tricky, a mate just pryed them out (carefully) with a flat head screwdriver but ended up breaking the clips on the old ones. i wanted to keep the old ones just in case so ended up jacking the front of the car up and taking out a couple of the plastic studs that hold the inner guard lining so I could get up behind the indicator and pop it out properly. took a bit longer, but sometimes it pays to spend a little extra time to make sure it is done right. -
well this is all quite amusing. i like this bit - yes, he is crazy. and quite possibly talking out of his arse. some interesting points put forward by all, i shall sit back and observe the fun.

nope, didn't miss it, razorsharp posted those photos a few posts up

nice, I like it. about the only thing that leaves me a little cold is that rear pillar, the angles look a bit odd. other than that, it looks pretty cool. love the fat rear end
-
he has said 16k, but i'm not sure i'd be willing to part with that much. probably looking at spending a fair bit less, but will see how it looks in person first.

won't be modifying it, that is what the skyline is for. not much room under there anyway for the twins, although it has been done. maybe just a supercharger...

OK, I've recently decided that although i'm totally happy with my R33 and have absolutely no need for a second car (let alone a petrol guzzling 2 tonne V8 boat), I want a Toyota Celsior. After searching through a heap of sub par VIP jap Celsiors and stocker local LS400's, I've found this Celsior in Melbourne which is pretty much exactly what I had in mind and looks to be the cleanest inside and out I've seen. Will be going to take a look at it on Sunday. My question is, does anyone have any advice as to what to look out for with these cars? Also what is it worth in your opinion? I've read through a heap of info and apparently the 1uz V8 is pretty indestructible, but the factory air suspension and front ball joints are possible weak points (damn expensive too). Leather is in awesome condition, only minor wear on the drivers seat bolster. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers!
-
well not really, but it would be kinda entertaining...
-
yep, definately do the defensive drivers course. i was the same and thought i was a good driver, but it really does teach you some invaluable lessons about yourself and your car. its also a heap of fun too. have fun with your new car mate!

very true. this thread is starting to make an interesting point though, if we are not able to discuss bad experiences where does it leave us? especially people new to the world of tuning (which we all were at some stage) who have no idea. they are generally encouraged to search out info on here, and if all they can find is positive comments about everyone, and no problems that have been encountered, what are they going to think? i think that a lot of dissatisfaction arises due to bad communication between customer and tuner, and would be the first to say that ALL problems should be sorted out between the 2 parties rather than bitching on a forum, but surely there has to be some level of discussion...? for the record, i have had some work done at ice and was very pleased with the results.

taken from the thread that you linked apparently from what i understand the further back that the wastegate pipe rejoins the better. i think there is a thread discussing this topic around somewhere if you search. a lot of people on here will vouch for batmbl's products (myself included), and that split dump looks awesome.

18x10inch Genova Forged Magnesium Wheels
thommo replied to mazgtr's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Forged magnesium = expensive. I have no idea how much, they look a little older so could be pretty hard to find. Dunno bout them looking like Lambo wheels tho, this one has seen better days - -

a couple of points i'd consider before purchasing- have you driven any other r33's? if not definately drive at least two other cars before purchasing to get a feel for what a good/bad example is like. check out as many different ads for similar spec cars as you can, including private to see how much the car is worth. never believe that what the dealer is asking is really market value. do you definately want an auto? if you're unsure then don't get one, you'll regret it later. where are you located? if possible have someone who knows skylines take an impartial look at the car for you, don't rely on an racv report. although they are good at finding obvious faults, they don't necessarily mean you will have no problems with the car. don't believe the km's. if there are any recent service records that is a big positive, but it's generally pretty rare. parts are no problem at all. almost anything can be ordered thru nissan dealerships, servicing parts ie. filters plugs pads etc are easy to find at most big auto shops like repco. there are also heaps of wreckers with r33 parts around. hope i havn't been too negative here, but i remember how eager i was to get my first skyline and ended up ignoring a lot of the good advice i was given. sorry bout the massive post, all the best mate!

i owned a gts before i bought the gtst, and i loved it. was quick enough, sounded awesome and was a bit of a head turner too. had it for two years, and by the time i was ready for the turbo i knew exactly what i wanted. was an excellent car to practise working on if you havn't played much with cars, and would def recommend gettin one especially if you're on P's. you can get very decent late model NA 33's for cheap, just stay away from auto's.
