  1. Oh, i did. TRIPLE checked them before I put everything back together too. Anyway bit of a useless post, but thought Id put it up anyway just incase anybody else has/had this issue.
  2. So anyway, I changed my plugs yesterday got some NGK BCP6RES gapped to 0.7mm. Proceed to put them in, put everything back together, then start my car... Now the fun begins. So I start her up and she is idling like SHIT, then stalls on me. I sit there cursing like no tommorow at the fact that I had to put everything back together to start the bastard and now its not running right... I started again and took her for a drive, car drives like a dream, feels like a brand new car, throttle resposne is back! So I take car home and it's purring like a kitten. I thought OK, let me turn it off and start again. No dramas. Car runs nice. No misses on idle. (used to miss a little until I changed plugs) What the hell would of caused it to run like that straight after I changed my plugs? New gaps? ECU freaking out at new gaps maybe and had to re-adjust? Cheers, trel.
  3. Where did you get it repaired in the end?
  4. www.filemp3.org
  5. Also to the original poster, in my 33 I had used the bracket where the battery wire was earthed to and it caused whine, I then took the earth wire off that and took the carpet out of my boot. Under that there is a bolt on the left side next to the spare tire, i took that bolt off sanded back to bare metal and earthed my amp there. Voila! Whine went away. Cheers, Evan
  6. Check cabling and make sure that none has deteriorated over time, could be one cause. Another cause (which happened to me in my old car) is that your alternator is failing, worst case scenario, but it happened to me. Cruising along one day all good, then I get whining BAD through the speakers. Tested EVERYTHING in the end was a dodgy alternator
  7. yeah lol i keep calling it a B shop cause thats what he used to be... But yeah he is near the corner of bridge road and church st, as i said coles is across the road and maccas is next to him. Evan.
  8. Where have you routed the rca cables? Is your earth secure and the same gauge if not more than your power wires? I had same problem when I put my amp in, but thats because my wiring was too close to the power and earth cables. Move them as far away as possible from your rca and speaker wires and it should do the trick. The sound you are hearing is alternator whine (im guessing it does it when car is running and gets worse with lights on)... Good luck hopefully solves your problem. Cheers, Evan
  9. can you get spec v? cheers.
  10. Mate, if you're in the Burnley area then head to Church St, where maccas is. Next to it there is a B shop, he is a repairer there, ask for Ken. Will look after you... Another place to try for cheap repair is Victoria st, there's like 10000 mobile phone shops there. Evan.
  11. Was good tonight guys, thanks for organising the cruise. Was nice to meet some faces behind the forums Shame about the weather though Cheers, Evan
  12. cheers mate, all done. serviced car today
  13. so after searching and finding nothing, whats the part number for 33 fuel filter? non genuine burson or repco branded. cheers.
  14. I tried doing this through my employer, but the conditions set from our fleet company (Custom Fleet) was that the car cannot be any older than 2 years old and must have less than 50k on the odometer. It also needs to be purchased through an LMCT, in otherwords a dealership. Something to think about if your work novates leases through a fleet company... Cheers, Evan
  15. anyone from kew/balwyn area want to meet up in richmond maybe before we head off?
  16. Im in! Couldn't make it to the midnight cruise so I will come to this one to make up
  17. girls driving skylines = hot.
  18. correcto... trello here. You still on that c*** of a thing called mIRC?
  19. Oh and by the way, i cut off some of my garden hose, chucked the chopped piece in a mug of boiling water (kettle boiling) for about 5 mins then slid it over the top of the shifter and rammed the gear knob over it. Used a bit of force but it looks awesome now. Sits perfectly flush with the leather boot. Awesome looking shift knob.
  20. It's Evan from the #sjb days.... many many years ago.... the awesome 56k mIRC days... lol.
  21. haha, should try that. karadoxx? that you? pm me and ill tell you who I am if you remember...
  22. Bought a drift gear knob today. This is gonna be a dumb question but the thing will not go on. Below the thread on the shifter there is plastic which stops the thread from the knob going over it. What I was thinking of doing was possibly getting a grommet of some sort and putting it in the knob itself and wedging it to the gear stick. Not a good idea or other suggestions maybe? If i pull off the leather surround would that plastic bit come off? Cheers, Evan
  23. So, I went and bought some cleaning products for my car the other day. I bought Meguiars Scratch X Swirl Remover, Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish, Meguiars Caranuba wax, applicators, microfibre cloths. etc. I went to wash my car that day and polish it and looked at my left headlight (which was really bad) and it was pissing me off, so I thought hmm what if I use some scratch X on it... I get the applicator out dab it in and start scrubbing, you need a lot of elbow grease here, I get my microfibre and wipe off and the head light looked awesome! I applied 2 more coats then I polished the headlight and then applied wax. I did it to both and they look like i've bought brand new lights now. Ill take photos possibly tommorow and post up. They look awesome now. Instead of spending 1000 dollars on new lights I spent 30 bucks on some swirl remover and they look a treat. Cheers. Ev.
  24. Blitz Nur Spec V exhaust, not the spec R. In terms of performance it's one of the straightest systems out. And the note it makes is bloody amazing. I haven't heard another exhaust system on an rb make such a sweet note... 900 bucks catback system. All you need then is a hi-flow cat and your front/dump and your done. I reckon you could get away with it for about 1200 if you fit it yourself. Good luck, Ev.
  25. Happening with me A LOT with telstra bigpond cable. Refreshing does not solve problem. It lets me on randomly.
