how low was your fuel tank?? May have some non fuel in it - i had this problem with water in fuel in a suburu my father in law owned. We put a cup of metho in the tank, filled the car with fuel and then we could run it dry . the metho apparently stops the fuel and water seperating - we then ran it out completely never had the problem again.

I dont know if they still run red stickers or not (showing my age again) but they can still prohibit you driving your car on the spot and get it towed if it is deemed to unsafe.

how bald is the question? -- if there was canvas or belts showing you are lucky they didnt red sticker it on the spot . High power car + crap tyres = just a matter of time Not having a go at you but i cant believe how many high powered cars i see with bald tyres on them - i was almost taken out by a commodore that threw a rethread off at 180Kph once scary as.

This is a daily occurance for my bus drivers -- we mainly get it through the windscreen -- what will happen - they will get nothing because unless the happen to throw one at a magistrate one day they have no idea of the danger of these events. This shit costs my company$$$$$ each year not only in windcreens and windows but the workers comp insurance is horrendous and there for we all pay as bus fares rise to cover costs. I could write for hours about these little arseholes but wont bore you with the details Even after a truck driver was killed over east by rock throwers the courts wont do a thing about them -- more interested in catching hoons i guess
