  1. Paul, I'm sure you are right... but WHY? what are the BIG differences that has the PFC 'hands down' over the eManager Ultimate? NIB, thanks for your comments... I think I am sitting at the low to mid end of town... I can't see my mods ever going too out of control. Have you (or anyone) found that the eManage Ultimate is better to work with than the older 'BLUE'? From what I could see, there seems to be a lot of new features, but maybe still very basic??
  2. Guys, thanks for your comments and info! keep them coming!! Paul, if I could find a 2nd hand PFC for a good price, yes I'd probably go for it - been checking sidewise/yahoo on a regular basis but for a R34, there isn't much. ALSO, the old supply/demand – value for money, the price of a 2nd hand PFC has gone up. About the same as a NEW e-manage Ultimate (with warranty, newer technology, laptop connection, etc) As per my original post, I’m not going for the top end (Haltech, Motec, etc). The budget will be $2000 max (that’s installed & tuned). As for the long term plans for the car – I can’t see me doing any major mods. Knowing the ecu has some flexibility/room for growth is important – looks like the e-manage has that. Yes, I can see the ‘Tuner’ playing a major role in all of this…I know some ECUs like HSK don’t have any support up her in QLD. Not sure about Wolf and a few of the others. Dan, I’m keen to have a chat about your ROM option. Brisbane tuners that will support this, etc. Maybe when I pickup that TCS device (*free plug*), we can have a chat. Michael, thanks for the info - I have seen this before, but as a noob, I'm still figuring out all the details  I think I’m looking more for the Pros & Cons or some type of side by side comparisons between the leading ECUs Pros/Conc like – Piggyback vs replacing the stock ECU. People seem to think the piggyback idea is bad, but is this based on the NEW functionality found in the e-manage Ultimate? Thanks again!
  3. btw, I'll keep searching... if you think I've missed a thread or there's info out there - please point me at it!
  4. We all know that APEXI have stopping making the Power FC -- for most of us anyway! Will another ecu dominate the SAU community? For people wanting to buy a NEW ecu, what's the best 'featured' unit (for the price)? Haltec, e-manage Ultimate, microtech, autronic, wolf or??? Before you start, YES I have done a search and looked over a good number of threads. A lot of the info out there is focused on the PFC. For the price/value, there seemed to be no other choice, unless you had an auto. The next comment I've seen…. 'follow your tuner's advice' I don't have a Tuner! Yes, I could contact a number of tuners and I'm sure they'll all tell me their preferred option. I think I'd get better general information from here – as a starting point anyway! Will then follow up and speak to tuners that know the brand I'm looking at. My car; R34 GTT S1 Manual, reasonably stock; turbo back exhaust & high flow cat, K&N panel filter, blitz ebc. – 90% street use, but intend to visit the track 4 to 6 times a year. I think I'm leaning towards that e-manage Ultimate. At approx $600 + harness + tune, it sounds good to me. The Haltec @ $2000+ is out of my budget! Most of the info I found was based on the 'older' e-manage Blue, which didn't get a good rap (for the R34s). But on paper, the Ultimate seems way better. Has anyone got some Pros & Cons of the latest ECU's on offer? Side by side Comparisons – eg, PFC vs e-manage Ultimate? (a matrix of features??) As for the e-manage Ultimate, Yes I know it's piggyback, but what has the PFC got over it? For the Street vs Track, I would like to swap maps – I have a laptop, saving/swapping the maps, logging data, via a unit/laptop would be a be plus. I know R31Nismoid and paulr33 have posted some great info… any additional info and answers to my questions would be much appreciated! Cheers!
  5. was thinking it could have been you. had a passanger in the front I think I was on foot so didn't wave.
  6. Spotted a Silver R34 GTT - Woody Point / Redcliffe near Red Dolphin cafe. didn't get the plate. Nice 34

    House For Rent?

this reminds me of Sydney pre 2000 Olympics... turn up at an inspection with 50 punters. have a quick look at the place, then drive like Schumacher back to the agent to get your form & deposit in. In Sydney it was first to fill in the form & pay the deposit, wins the place (win? - pays a sh!t load for a crap house doesn't = win) IF you have to put your form in at the agent's office & being 1st matters - work with a mate. you go to the inspection, your mate waits for your phone call at the agents office. this worked well back in Syd. good luck mate!

  22. wow, I must have struck it lucky. I've got tyres from there 3 times now (for different cars). Once I visited and there wasn't much to stock, so I waited a few weeks until their next shipment. These guys wholesale to other tyre shops. They can get 'cleaned out' quickly as the tyre shops buy in bulk. The better tyres obviously going first. If you don't like what you see, don't buy! Getting the right tyre with a good amount of tread, I think the prices are great - WAY better that new tyre of the same size/brand. I've mainly spoken to Mick, but I believe John is the owner - can't comment on his dealings After the comments, I will be more careful! Hope you both get things sorted!
  23. This has been the total opposite of my experience. But I can understand your frustration! I suggest you call them on Monday and let them know what happened -distance driven and hours waisted.
