  1. 45 cars total, but only 33 were built as road cars (and even then, a fair number of them went back on to the track later on to become TA cars - the Mine's R34 was an N1, and TRIAL Osaka had one too).
  2. Recent conversations suggest otherwise Car's looking great Terry - send me your address again so I can send you that return gift
  3. Thank you for your contribution. Please, come again.
  4. ^^Not such a silly idea. ^^Silly idea.
  5. Ok I have been in touch with my contacts in SAPOL and they're keen to track down who is stealing all the imports, but they can't do it without our help. If you hear or see something that is a bit sus, PLEASE contact me with the details, either via PM or email [email protected] These are just the ones I know of in the last week (if you have more, post up the pics of the car). R32 GT-R rego S375-AKW stolen from Glenelg East on Saturday night. Nissan BLuebird SSS-ATTESA AWD hardtop model (import, not a local sedan) rego S757-AHC stolen from Le Cornus car park yesterday. Tilt trailer, black with R32 rims on it, Rego S722-TAL, stolen last night from Klemzig. Purple 180SX Rego WOD-603 stolen last night from Noarlunga.
  6. Time for us all to chip in for a cheap import and leave it somewhere conspicuous - I'd sure love to know what's happening to all these cars.
  7. Plan is to take 5 down this year, so yes, might need your help again lol
  8. *sigh* once again the SAU judges, juries and executioners convict the person involved before he has had his case heard in court.
  9. Imports have to comply with the ADRs relevant to the year they were built - a 1992 GT-R isn't required to have an immobiliser, in the same way a VP Commodore isn't. In the end, you can't legislate against stupidity - if people choose to skimp and take the risk, then they get their fingers burnt. I suspect someone is stripping them and sending them either interstate or even overseas.
  10. Get the word out guys, we moved hell and earth to import this car over here!
  11. Can you believe it has been 5 years already? And entry is STILL just $10, and it’s STILL free for spectators! The Show About Nothing returns, and there are some huge changes to the format for 2012….nah, just kidding, you guys would lynch us if we did that! Where: Wigley Reserve, Anzac Highway, Glenelg When: Sunday, 26 February 10:00am-3:00pm As always, we will be asking spectators for a gold coin donation on the day, and all profits from the event go to charity – this year it will be going to Australian Lutheran World Service, which does excellent work in a number of third-world countries. Visit http://www.alws.org.au/ for more info on them. We knew it was going to be hard to top the Toyota 2000GT that made an appearance last year, but we think we may have done it - the much-anticipated ‘Team Monster Chef’ Shitbox Rally car will also be in attendance, raising money for the Cancer Council when it drives from Melbourne to Cairns in April 2012, so if you can spare some cash to help with fundraising efforts, your donations would be very much appreciated. We’ve just opened up entries once again, so jump on the website – www.alljapanday.com.au – and come and join us once again for a relaxed day drooling over some of South Australia’s (and Australia’s!) finest metal. If you're on Facebook join the AJD page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/All-Japan-Day/214256251964280 or the event: http://www.facebook.com/events/253988747983564/
  12. Word on the grapevine is that it was done for shits and giggles, courtesy of alcohol
  13. I'm in no way saying that this is the case with this particular vehicle, but I've heard of people becoming licensed vehicle dealers, then bringing top-end cars in without having to pay the GST. The only problem is that they must have evidence to show they are attempting to sell the car to collect said unpaid GST later on.... That car is definitely real though, I remember the chatter when it first arrived in Australia. $1m is ridiculous, but half that amount, given it's build #1, wouldn't be unreasonable, I would've thought.
  14. That's pretty much it - so many have been used for drifting that good ones are very rare these days. I also imported a 23,000km Cefiro for an Adelaide customer a few years back
  15. You better stop laughing then. Mint S13s have been going up in value for the last 2 years at least. If you wanted to import a grade 4 Type X with under 100,000km (legit), don't expect change out of $15K landed and complied. They won't fetch the prices of VS2 R32s, but then again they were never as expensive in the first place either. A good original S13 with service records is money in the bank in my books.
  16. Think $15K, not $10K If you're not trolling, probably best you Google the differences between the two
  17. lol the thread title had me worried there for a second... They do exist, but they fall well into the realm of collectible classics these days, so you'd need to have very deep pockets to beat anyone local in Japan. Almost certainly more than it would cost to get one here. Look around for something tidy in Oz would be your best bet. Rowan, your idea reminded me of this car...
  18. There are exceptions to the standards granted for migrants bringing their cars with them to NZ. Here's a good place to start: http://www.nzta.govt.nz/vehicle/classes-standards/exceptions.html
  19. I really need to chase this up...mine is probably undervalued currently.
  20. What's your point?
  21. Looking at the first Sunday in April, all good
  22. Hi guys, Along with AJD Adelaide in late Feb, and AJD Sydney in November, we're considering dates in April for a Melbourne event if you guys are keen to have us over there. Anyway, we wanted to get discussion rolling, and start looking at venues. Albert Park was mentioned as one of them, as was Caribbean Gardens. If you have any suggestions for where and when, we're all ears Cheers Kristian
