  1. Bugger it isn't a manual - I really want a manual. Plus have to sell my 2 door r33 and it seems to be a really bad time. I still like jlnewton's - it just looks right to me I 'spose!!! jlnewton - what size tyres were you running on the 4 door? I never thought r33 gtr mags looked so good on 33's - I don't think I've ever seen a 33 with 33 gtr mags. Cheers
  2. Will be in Brissie later on this week. If you really want them I can put them in my back seat - but please only if you want them as it's a pain in the arse. Cheers
  3. Not too sure how easy it is to run against someone you want to in the street series. (11th) I suggest you check out their website - I've only ever been to a test and tune and it was pretty easy to line up against a friend. I just want to do a few passes and see how the new turbo setup goes. Cheers
  4. JLNEWTON - That's the nicest four door I've seen! It just looks 'right' - no over the top body kits etc. Did it come with the side skirts? Those pics have made me really want one! Cheers!

  6. http://www.willowbank-raceway.com.au/ Fellas I just checked out the prices to enter in the street series and it's the normal 36 dollars plus 5 dollars if you don't have the andra licence. The next one will be on sat the 14th (this sat) and I'll be going as I'm desperate to run with my new mods. You have to be out there between 2:30pm and 6 to qualify. Regardless I'll also be heading out on the 21st althogh it might be a bit far away for people to plan. Cheers
  7. You can swap any rb starter over so the flywheel must be the same diameter. All rb g/boxes have the same bolt pattern. I'm certain all the clutches are the same bolt up pattern. The r33 series 2's went from a pust to pull type clutch. If you want to verify this (you really should) goto the stickyed rb30 conversion section in forced induction. Those guys will know as they have been inside just about everything rb.
  8. HI NA R33, Just out of interest how are you guys setting up the car on the dyno? Reason I ask is the way we do it is set the car up to sit on top if the front roller summernats style during the power runs - hell those guys are managing to get their cars to put down over 1000kw 2wd without wheelspin. My dyno guy has seen well over 400kw without a problem.(supercharged vt's and a gtr) From personal experience there's nothing worse than doing dyno runs and getting wheelspin - you're just not getting the correct readout - I know the drag strip is the best dyno but it'd be really nice to see exactly what the car is making. Cheers
  9. Sorry can't go then as I'm from Gympie and can't make it. I am thinking about going this saturday though for the street series as you can get a day pass if you don't have an ANDRA licence.
  10. Shouldn't be a problem. Rb20 clutch is same fit as rb25 and we fit a vl turbo clutch into my dad's rb20. Put all three clutches next to eachother and they are identical.
  11. Got to agree with you there - as far as I'm concerned and for the cost of NSK bearings you should do the idler/tensioner bearings at 100000k's. Don't forget guys that not all skylines have genuine k's on them - whenever I buy a car with rubber timing belt/s I change them straight away. You know what you've got then and no surprises. I'm glad I do all this myself as I'm pretty blown away at the quoted prices! Cheers
  12. r32 should hook up heaps better than the vl - especially if vl has no lsd. Having owned commos and raced them in skylines/silvias commos just are crap off the line UNLESS you do work to the suspension. Rolling? Depends on how quick you're going - I can just beat a r33 gtr @ 20km/hr rollon in first gear but still am getting crazy wheelspin. The commodore will lose I'd say at a 20 kay roll on - it'll still just spin.
  13. Yep I've been for a ride in a LS1 and I must say that I was disappointed in the power these ''300'' kw machines make. They are quick but you soon come to realise that you're driving something substantially faster - you just get use to it and want more! Make sure cubes that you fit a BIG turbo to that rb30 - something that makes well over 300rwkw - no excuses now as you've got plently of torque down low. I was driving a na vl a couple of days ago and they've got so much more torque than the 25's - so easy to drive and potter around in towing trailers etc. Cheers
  14. I wanted to go out this weekend (14th) but the street series is on. Anyone interested in heading out for the test and tune?(sat 21 jan) Finally got my car sorted - will be coming from the north side so am just wondering if anyone's interested in meeting up and heading out in a bit of a convoy? Would be good to get a few lines out - but I'm not fussed with what people drive! Cheers EDIT ALSO AM GOING OUT FOR THE STREET SERIES (14TH) IF ANYONE'S INTERESTED
  15. For priced I'd look at nengun or greenline. Have a look through the photos - yep it comes with everything to fit up. I've been having some fun with the car now - it doesn't feel as fast as it is - it's seen off a supercharged LS1 with 421hp at the tyres and quite a few other built engine combo setups. Just that turbo delivery I spose. It's great sitting there with your quiet rb ticking over and beating some of these noisy V8's!
  16. I've got a 4'' cat, super turbo 3'' muffler and 3'' cannon style muffler. When we fitted the super turbo the car was beautiful, but when I fitted the hks2835 pro s kit it got loud again!!! I'm in the same boat as you bass and am getting annoyed with the drone. I'm thinking about one of those dual exit style cannon muffler in the hope that it's a bit quiter - does anyone use one of these?
  17. No one here has mentioned a rb30???? Buy a rb30na bottom end, gtr head..... Stock Gtr turbos will bolt on then so you've got a cheap set of factory fit turbos which can supply your 270rwkw. Make sure you have gtr inlet manifold too and no bonnet clearance problems which you will most likely have with rb25 inlet manifold. Aftermarket Gtr turbo kits are about the same price as single set ups too. G/box? Rb25 - look around and you will find a cheap one. I simply wouldn't consider a toyota engine as having done a rb into commodore conversion myself that was hard enough. Get a 50 dollar narb30 bottom end and rebuild it with stock nissan parts then you know what you've got then work from there. The torque will be phenominal and in a light silvia nuts.
  18. What do you mean by thrust bearing? Don't you mean throwout bearing? This works when you push the pedal in. When the pedal is out your input shaft to the gearbox will be spinning - I've had four nissans now and all have an input shaft bearing noise when the pedal is out and g/box in neutral. How loud is it? I've only ever been able to hear this noise when the car is in a quiet tin garage - if that's how it is I wouldn't worry. If it's audible in a noisy environment ie traffic then that's a different story. Cheers
  19. Great stuff cogs and blue r32! I really like that white one but it must be a mega job to get the gtr style quarters looking right! They really suffer from (what I think) the problem like most 33's - it's hard to get the right wheel/tyre combo under them. Don't know why - maybe the guards are that little bit larger than the 32's - 32 4 doors seem to be much easier to get to look good! I think you'd need to get the largest/fattest wheels under the arches (especially under the rear) of a 4 door 33 - they do look maxima-ish from behind! Cheers
  20. Good stuff. Anyone got pictures of stock bodied r33 4 doors with big wheels etc?
  21. Gidday all, Just was looking through my photos on my computer and I have no r33 four door pictures. I performed a search and could hardly find any - just wondering if anyone can post up some pics? All the picture threads seem to be on r32's, r33's and r34's but not many at all on r33 4 doors. Just interested in changing to a four door soon and would like to get some ideas. Thanks in advance!
  22. http://www.meggala.com/r33main1.html Yep you were right - it says the rb20e, rb25de and rb25det r33's are 67 litres - maybe I shouldn't worry so much when I hit empty! Cheers
  23. Just had a look in the sky is the limit skyline book and it says for the r32 gtr the fuel tank is 72 litres, and r32 gtst 2 and 4 door 60 litres. Nothing in there though about the r33's. If I'm putting 50 litres in at 500 k's and it takes 65 litres then that means I can get well over 600 to a tank!
  24. My car makes 255rwkw at the moment with the stock airbox and k&n flat panel air filter. We tried taking the air filter out and running none - dynoing with the bonnet up and lild off the airbox it made absolutely no difference in power output. Cheers
  25. I thought the r33's are 55 litres. When my needle is on empty I can put 50 litres in. I'm sure I read the 55 litres somewhere - it must be in a manual or something. Interestingly I seem to get better economy when driving at 110km/hr plus - it doesn't seem to have to work as hard at that speed with the little boost that its making then and just rolls up the hills. At 90 - 100 you have to put your foot down a lot more - it doesn't feel happy. I'd love to fit a na rb30 bottom end and make the gearing a bit taller - first gear is a bit of a waste of time in my r33. cheers
