  1. $1k for a cat-back titanium exhaust IS cheap. Also, it wouldn't hang 4 inches lower underneath it would hang about an inch lower than a 3 inch exhaust which if fitted/made correctly doesnt hang that low at all (providing standard ride height is kept).

  3. They werent far behind Liz, at a guess they were doing 60-65sec. A problem that 2 HSV's had (ute + monaro) were front brake pads (standard) were being destroyed by early afternoon. Coming into turn 1 they were just a shower of sparks out the front.
  4. I think it is good news. Toyota is in F1 to prove that their product is better (which at the moment it isnt) and I don't think they will stop until they have proved this point. Cosworth are just their to make up the numbers.

  6. Well I arrived at about 1pm, once again another half field of cars at Oran Park. Liz was the only Skyline with a few HSV's, WRX STi's, Merc AMG, BMW M3, Ferrari etc. It was a well run event, just half the drivers I was expecting. From the sessions I timed of you Liz they were all pretty much 58-61sec and very consistent (except for the laps with traffic). The session you did with the instructor he had you braking heaps better (harder) which was very noticable. I'd say with some decent rubber you'd be down into the 55-57's.
  7. Forget about 3 or 3.5 and worry more about the cat + mufflers. I have a DoLuck 3" cat-back exhaust which has flowed 328awkw without any problems but was so loud and droned so much you could hear me from 2km away. For a noise reduction quickfix I got a local muffler place to bolt on a quieter muffler. Whilst my exhaust is now quieter it is sooo restrictive that my boost level is all over the place and the engine just doesnt want to rev above about 5000rpm, at a guess i'd say i've lost an easy 50rwkw (I can hear the massive back pressure just on idle). The DoLuck canon is basically a massive straight through pipe with baffling around the outside (which does... nothing). The quiet muffler has all sorts of baffling channels around the inside channeling the gases all over the place to help reduce noise, but created a massive restriction.

  13. Sounds like their is plenty of interest in this trackday, pitty higher numbers weren't available (no doubt 5 or so will dropout by lunchtime tho).
  14. I have a Jim Berry clutch (I believe it's a standard clutch rebuilt by jim - unsure) and have over 300rwkw. The clutch drives extremely easy in start stop traffic, no shutter and never once stalled the car. However, if I load up the clutch and dump it the thing bites like a bitch (i'm pretty sure it cost under $1k too). Extremely happy.

  19. Wink: Yes Richard: I've learn from the past to not take a half assed car onto the track, it only results in broken bits. I still need to get: Braided brake lines Decent pads Semi-slick tyres Splitfire Coils Catch Can Sump Baffles ..atleast before you will see me on a track.

  22. Time for Webber to cut the 'nice guy' crap and get tough with Williams. He needs to show that he is extremely angry with Franks operation, he needs to fire up and start making some threats because just like Jaguar, Williams is holding Webber back and its time for him to move on. Williams have had more than enough time to get their shit together and they still can't build a reliable F1 car. I think Webber would be better off racing my HiAce around the track, atleast he would actually finish every race (on 1 set of tyres and tank of fuel too).
  23. Not that particular bush, but the 1 that has the circlip just above it would (its the pivot point).
  24. I had a problem with my gtr when i got it which sounds the same as what you are describing. Their is a small plastic bush that plugs over the bottom ball part of the gearstick that sits down inside the box. Pull your gearstick out (by removing the circlip) and see if you have this plastic bush? If you dont they are about $5 from Nissan (however im using a Toyota Hilux part as it fits perfectly and Nissan didnt have 1 in stock at the time).
