  1. I went for the cheapies on ebay. They are slightly less yellow than the old globes but not bright white as stated but what can you expect for $24 inc. postage.
  2. Sorry Seb It's definately a resistor for the fuel pump low speed circuit. Why do you think you need it?
  3. Yeah girls on the weekend didn't have a clue but my searches have found two guys that say the autotecnica bulbs didn't last very long.
  4. I'd still prefer halogen to hid to replace my blown low beam. If I was going to spend money on hid I'd do my high beams first.
  5. Thanks but the local Supercheap couldn't help.
  6. Yes, in halogen, but they fit the same hole and because the base on an hid bulb is plastic the h3 hid bulb must earth through the high voltage harness so they should be the same bulb in hid. If I'm wrong please show me pics.
  7. Is the difference beween h3 and h3c irrelevent with hid because hid uses it's own harness between the ballast and the bulb?
  8. Xenon Xtreme only has hids? I was hoping to find ordinary bright white h3c bulb Couldn't find Androoz but Xenon Xtreme's name is Andrew Could they be the same guy?
  9. I want a pair of H3C 55W globes in 4000k- 6000k colour range. The local shops can only supply H3C in the std colour which look very yellow. As far as I can find out, Philips, Hella and Narva don't do H3C in colours. I've considered converting H3 globes but would prefer not to. I'm not keen on spending HID money but might consider them if the results can be assured I've searched on here but most results are too old and links and pics don't work. Edit: I found these on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/H3C-55W-100W-Super-...id=p3286.c0.m14 Can anyone vouch for these?
  10. Ok pull off the surround that holds the foglight switch. If the car never had foglights fitted the plug for the switch should be taped to the loom behind the switch. Untape it and plug it in then refit the surround. The other end of the wires can be found as unused two pin grey plugs behind each headlight.
  11. It's the one with the injector style plug.
  12. We just had new bearings put in my son's r32 gtr gearbox because it was getting a bit noisy. It was nice and quiet for a day or so then some of the roll over noise returned. It now also makes a zzz-zzz-zzz noise on the over run that we hadn't noticed before. This brings me to my r33 box in my r32 gtst which occasionally makes the same noises. Before I fitted the second hand r33 box to my gtst I fitted a new input shaft seal and because the front cover gasket broke I refitted the cover with just some sealant. I checked that the circlip recess in the cover was deep enough not to bottom out on the front bearing circlip and there was still a small amount of endfloat in the front shaft so I thought the lack of gasket thickness was not an issue. I spoke to the mechanic who did my son's gtr box about the noises and he said he didn't use the front cover gasket because the input shaft endfloat seemed excessive due to the gasket being quite thick. After thinking about it for a while he said maybe the counter-shaft is hitting the front cover due to the reduced clearance. Has anyone here seen any evidence of counter-shaft contact inside the front cover? Anyone not used the front cover gasket or got the zzz-zzz-zzz noise? How much rollover noise is normal in a healthy box?
  13. Why do you say it's an r33 engine when the engine shown in the pic is obviously a non vct r32 rb25de?
  14. People have used the gtr drive with but it costs more and you still have to fit the r33gtst gear because the gtr gear teeth slant the other way.
  15. Interesting tutorial with really useful pics. I did this mod a couple of years ago. Just a couple of things anyone trying this might find useful. When I went to my Holden dealer to buy a vl turbo speedo drive my mate that works there said to take the part no. to nissan and ask for a navara speedo drive. It was only a fifth of the price for the same part. Instead of filing a flat on the new shaft I used a round file to make the hole in the gear perfectly round. It then pushes onto the splines very firmly. No need for heat or glue or a retaining screw.
  16. I put 33 brakes on my 32 to clear my 34gtt wheels. Before that I ran 3mm spacers and they just cleared the 32 calipers. The 33 calipers still run very close (< 1mm clearance) so maybe variations in manufacturing tolerances could explain why some 33s have problems with clearance.
  17. The DB1165 part no. is listed to suit n/a skylines and n16 pulsar etc, R32gtr and type m gtsts use DB1170 pads.
  18. Auto or manual? Have you priced one from your nissan dealer?
  19. They have a glass lens not plastic. It looks like a white smoke film inside the glass. I've seen driving lights fill with white smoke when the bulb is cracked but the bulbs are still working so maybe it's just moisture. I thought of rinsing them out with metho but I'm not sure it won't damage them.
  20. It's a pair of hella driving lights so they're semi sealed and won't come apart. ie. the only access is through the bulb socket.
  21. I have a pair of Hella driving lights that appear to have a film of white smoke inside the glass lens. Is there something I can rinse it out with to get rid of it?
  22. The non-genuine clear indicators for the gtst are very poor quality and will yellow in a few months if your car isn't garaged 24/7.
