  1. also, your oil level may be low. see if it needs topping up and check if your dip stick is properly in. what kind of oil are you using?
  2. head to your mechanic and get him to do an oil pressure test. that'll tell you if youve got something to worry about or not.
  3. its on because you have low oil pressure. what kind of oil are you using?
  4. i dont know why you'd want to replace the whole unit. its just that small part that opens and closes the little flap that is the problem.
  5. if its ALWAYS at 2 then you've got an oil pressure problem. go get your car checked with a manual pressure gauge at your mechanic. if you do end up having a problem then its time for a rebuild.
  6. i was advising her on the cost of parts, not labour.

  8. what a machiiiiiine. welcome
  9. i've spent around 2k on my rebuild. thats with an n1 oil pump, new rings, thermostat, crank regrind, vrs kit bla bla bla... it helps to have mates in the industry. check if your state had a deal going on with the local nissan dealer for parts.. that'll definatley cut costs a bit.
  10. i dont think its a sensor, its the motor that opens and closes the flap (im not sure if thats what you meant randy). i've got a pic of the gears inside the motor somewhere when i did it. one of the gears were completley chewed. i'll get a pic up tomorrow.

  13. nah i didnt do a re-bore. clearances were fine with the hone and i got good pre-run in compression when i had it on the road before it stuffed up again. crank and bearings are coming in on monday so it should all be back together before the next weekend (fingers crossed).
  14. might grab around 6. i only had 1 fall out though... just to be safe

  16. where do i get these big ass washers from in syd? theyre for the exhaust manifold studs.
  17. updated pics of front bar.
  18. to check the block for cracks you'll need it out. but checking it for warping is fine while its sitting in the car. and if he wants to swap for a metal head gasket before his current one blows then whats wrong with that? he's probably got his reasons.
