  1. its not a big job to strip it off yourself.. you just need a flat razor or a sharp flat scraper and it'll be done in no time.
  2. yes.. ASAP. i'd at least take the plastic off the steering column to see if you've got a wire loose before forking out the $. disconnect the battery first though.
  3. good work. i cleaned mine out with my dremil when i had this problem.. they dont need tape anymore.
  4. pics of the other set of wheels that come with it. they're grippy tyres.
  5. yep. good even, high compression. you'll find that the tape only works for a few days/weeks maybe. clean out the inside of your coils with a dremil drill (very lightly!!) just to get the build-up of crap off the inside of them.. or you can try steel wool.
  6. just thought i'd ad this for future searchers... bleed valve is circled.
  7. could be your tensioner or idler. they will make a little noise if theyre old. get new ones.
  8. throw on a pfc or at least a safc and you should be right for fuel consumption... i get around 450+ k's from a tank.. i used to get 280 before the safc.
  9. what the hell is a seilver security?
  10. use the tool that screws into the two 10mm bolt locations, not the one that grabs one of the pulleys. i'll try get a pic up on how this works while my motor is in pieces.
  11. im interested.. depending on the date and if ive got my car back or not.
  12. firstly i'd replace that pipe with the dodgy welding. it could be blow by.. best way to tell would be to get a catch can properly installed. the compression test will tell you alot though. it could also be a blown oil seal on your turbo.
  13. i was asking a few v8 guys today.. they've seen it done to a few cars. im sure if the size of the pulley was 4-5mm smaller in diameter it wont have that kind of effect.
  14. tonight i was throwing around ideas with my bro in law wondering how we could fix the #6 always running lean problem. we know that #6 is the last bore on the coolant flow path, which in turn makes it hotter than the rest which is why we think they always go first. we also know that people have been throwing around the idea that the plenum design makes #6 get more air which also doesnt help the situation (i havent seen any hardcore data so im assuming its just a theory, correct me if im wrong). we thought about getting a slightly smaller water pump pulley to speed up the water flow around the motor. has anyone ever heard of anything like this? i know there are higher flowing water pumps out there but i guess this mod would be fine for a 250-300kw car.. also a bit lighter on the pocket. is the r32 water pump pulley smaller? or does anyone know where i could find one?
  15. bloody hell.. i spent $80 posted a few weeks ago for one of these. free bump.
  16. all those security guards who drive around are pretty lazy (well the ones i know sleep 3/4 of the night).
  17. THATS why you put the oil and filter for auction first!!!
  18. sounds like the ecu wire is earthing out. check your ecu wire on the ecu. make sure the wire behind the dash for the speedo is properly connected and isnt stripped.
  19. nah it can wait... i wont be using it till my motors run in anyway.
  20. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...33753&hl=gizzmo
  21. i was about to pay $100 to justjap for the same oil + filter.. i'd rather it went to sau than justjap though.
