Nick, im after some standard pistons in good condition. ive replaced #6 and also #5 just to be safe. the rest look like theyre in good shape. i need one more because i accidently knocked it off my table while i was putting all of the gtr rods onto them. shit happens.. ill give nissan a call and see where i end up.

thanks mate, i got the little dremil out and buffed them, and they all went in smoothly, i guess maybe a build up of crap on them over the years

hey guys, 3 out of 6 pistons have the gudgeon pins in them and went in without a hitch, the other 3 arent going in smooth at all. also i put one in the whole way and the piston wasnt moving on the rod freely at all. im stuck. what do i do?

during my rebuild i realised how good it would be to have a thread full of places that are known to stock nissan parts. im after some rb25det pistons but cant find any! so far ive tried SSS Automotive at Girraween who seem to have pistons for every other nissan except rb25, and JustJap havent gotten back to me yet. so go nuts.. try get the address and phone number of the parts shop too and try to give a little description of them if you've dealt with them before. SSS Automotive Unit 6, 120 Gilba Road Girraween. NSW. 2145. PH: 9896 6111 seemed like a good decent workshop, but didnt have the part i needed.

Ive got a new stainless steel muffler for sale. there is no brand on the muffler so its anybodys guess to what brand it is. PRICE: Now at $150 Its available for sydney pick up, or postage at buyers expense. Cheers Joe

dont those things have a hard spring? im not 100% but i think you'll need a bit more pressure than 7psi to make it go off, OR you've got a screwed/blocked/disconnected/leaking vacuum hose.

ive got to say, my best learning experience before my rebuild has got to be owning a honda... almost everything you touch on them engines break (89 prelude b20a). ive broken alot of parts in the short time ive been fixing/breaking cars (im 21). ive only started to stop breaking parts but maybe its because nissans are harder to break than hondas the best way to learn would be to grab the workshop manual and give it a stab. as a beginner i'd definately recommend to get your hands on a workshop manual before you go anywhere near major engine parts.

ive learnt everything i know by trial and error, and it helps to have a brother in law who is a mechanic ever since i was little i used to rip things apart and put them back together, it was only time till i started with cars. and at the moment im doing an engine rebuild at home so im learning alot as i go. ive got my brother in law to guide me but its definately the best learning experience you could get.

yeah, only use green stuff. dont overfill it either, only to the MAX line.

yeah as Acolyte said you could get some from somewhere like k-mart or target or big w. i'd recommend using distilled water as tap water has shit in it (i sucked at science). at this stage you only fill your radiator. the reason you do this is to loosen any bits of dirt in your system, only run your car for 1 min or so with the distilled water.

i'd keep the 33. the main thing that makes the bottom ends go on rb25's is leaning out of your mixtures then one of your pistons go pop.. like so: but other than that, ive seen stock internal 25's make 300kw+

its not done yet, the parts i need will be coming this week. ill be doing a resleave if the hone doesnt do a good enough job.

if you want some 2nd hand 19" rubber go into payless tyres in chullora and ask for jeff. tell him joe with the yellow r33 sent you. ive sold my 19s so i dont need them. he had 2 sitting at his shop the last time i went, he told me 100-120 for the pair and i think they had 80% tread.
