ok, im using my old pistons, ive bought a 2nd hand piston from someone off here. so the right thing to do would be to get completely new rings for all 6 right? any idea how much they go for?

when my brother owned the skyline he hit a pidgeon.. blood and guts everywhere.. and i hit one of them brown f**kers in my lancer on my street, i got out and it was stuck in the front bar.. i went to the back yard to grab the hose to force it out and when i got back it was gone.

does anyone know where i could get a set of piston rings for stock pistons in syd? are there a higher quality set i could get? this may sound stupid, but ive got a set of rb26 stock pistons with rings, is it possible to use them at all?

im pretty sure you'd need an enginners certificate for any type of aftermarket suspension kit.

im pretty sure you'd notice a piece of paper on your car before you get in it anyway.

im not going all out on the engine mate. my brother in law is a mechanic and is more than capable of doing the work. im only going to repair it. if i hone it im just going to replace the bearings and rings. everything is staying stock.

at the moment im in the process of fixing all the problems associated with fixing a cracked ringland. assuming there are light scratches ill need a honing tool to get the bore back in working order. does anyone know where i could get my hands on one?

Engine/Car: r33 rb25det Type of failure: broken ring on #6 piston. Factors influencing the failure: had the car tuned on 12psi (safc2), while at the drags the dodgy bleed valve spiked to 18psi and actually held it there during my burnout. it was smoking all the way down the line. State of tune of the engine: 3" turbo back, fmic, pod, safc Suspension and tyres: stock Oil used and service interval: nulon synthetic. General comments: DO NOT USE A BLEED VALVE. THEY SUCK.

could be your coils too. theres a sticky in this section on how to fix them.

thanks mate. yeah the heads almost off, just need to undo the head bolts and it'll be right to come out, i just dont want to waste any time with parts and tools etc. ive heard warren and brown are the shiznit too, thats the one my brother in law whos a mechanic told me to look into. do you think i could use one of them gasweld ones too? i want something i can rely on but if its going to give me problems with my engine later then i'd rather spend the big $$ on something better.

hey guys, ive been shopping for a torque wrench and was just wondering if you guys knew anywhere that gave good prices on these. ill only be using it once on my car so $400 seems like a bit of a bitch to pay for something i'd use once, and my mate with all these kinds of tools is overseas! ive been getting prices of up to 400-500 for a stanley or snap-on one but are there other brands you guys recommend that wouldnt break the bank?
