  1. yeah thats all i really wanted. he did a great job for a good price. i also want to point out - if i didnt have the overfueling problem would the motor still have starved of oil if i hit a track day seeing as though there was a blockage of the oil pick-up? i never really noticed it as i didnt hit the higher revs very often. only time i heard anything was at WSID after a run, i heard what i now realise was lifter noise - i never really got to inspect it as by the time i got back to the pits the noise was gone.
  2. the car never ran excessively rich. my data logs show this. either way the engine failed due to incomplete combustion and a restricted oil pick-up. how does incomplete combustion occur?
  3. why would you ask that? do you think its tune related?
  4. there it is guys: conclusion is the crutial part and states why the motor failed. Engineer_Report.pdf

  6. sorry guys, its boost GAUGE not boost controller.
  7. can you hear an air leak anywhere? either between the manifold and the head or the throttle body and the plenum. thats what ive got my $ on. were the surfaces machined flat?
  8. results are in. check the thread for the results from the engineer report.
  9. Engineer report in: results are: bearing failure caused by overfueling/incomplete combustion + a restriction in the oil pickup which caused low oil flow at high RPM. the over fueling + the oil pickup restriction caused the motor to fail. I'll post up the engineer report once ive edited out my details etc.
  10. i have mixed emotions about this... i dont want to bag you out because you're a fellow SAU member, but i also dont want to give you false encouragement.
  11. i dont think your Q45 will work because your ecu wont recognise its signal. your SAFC doesnt have the capability to convert the Q45's signal to match the ecu's (i may be mistaken). looks like you're going to need to upgrade to another EMS or buy an SITC to go with your SAFC to retard timing up top as you adjust your voltages.
  12. I'm thinking about selling my Emanage Ultiamate + all harnesses. Its the newer (E) board which allows for the knock sensor to work on the date logs. It comes with: Wideband cable to hook up the 0-5v outputs to (which also allows for auto-tune). 3 bar map sensor - allows for the removal of the AFM. Home made launch control switch. At this stage im not entirely sure on whether i want to let go of it or not. If the buyer is in Syd I'll give them a run-down on how to go about getting their car setup and all the features you will need. If interested you may also be a part of an up and coming tuning software trial which has given me PLENTY of gains (more info about this to the buyer). I've had it for around a year and still have the box/manual/software cd etc. $900 + postage. I've got a Mines chipped ecu which ive been running with the emanage to make it easier to tune as its got no fuel cut, leaner maps and no rev limiter (which can be controlled by the emanage). This is also on the car at the moment. $250 + postage. I also have a black Asus EEE PC. its the 8.9" version which i use to tune as i go, its running windows XP and im sure ive got the receipt around somewhere. its a really good little computer which i carry around when i feel like doing some data logging or some touch up tunes. It has the emanage software installed + all of my data logs. $500 + postage. I'd really like to sell these together as its an awesome little kit, I'd sort something out in terms of price if its all sold together. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with an AUTO/tiptronic who is looking for a kit that wont mess with the shifts as this is what i was looking for when i built it. PM or post here Cheers, Joe
  13. i got one of these china copies but off a different supplier. It was pretty good but ive heard enough stories to cover my ass before fitting it. first thing i did was give it to my mate at an engineering shop to machine all the surfaces flat. then i gave it to Chris at Craved Coatings (forum member - Craved) to sand it flat then powdercoat it. when he was sanding it he found HEAPS of bog so he's cleaning it all out and re-welding it somehow. when i get it back im going to match port it then fit it all up. ive got all my hoses ready to go, im just trying to find a way to fit up the AAC valve to the intake properly. on a $250 part i chose to spend the extra $150 or so to get it cleaned up and looking pretty. i suggest anyone who buys one of the china copy plenums to at the very least do what ive done for peace of mind.
  14. found the water temp sensor + adaptor - included in $100 price for whole gauge kit.
  15. engineer report came up with some interesting results. i'll elaborate at a later date guys.
  16. rip off your AAC valve and give it a clean. before you ask any more questions about it, give the search thingo a go. p.s. I'm going well, how are you going?
  17. im in bankstown. pm sent. they dont clear my brakes. with spacers i think they'll fit, they are a skyline stud pattern though.
  18. UPDATE: found a boost controller to go with the kit - i will sell the entire kit for $100 with the 4 gauges + oil pressure plate/switch. i couldnt find the water or oil temp sensors anywhere. they go for around $30 for the water temp adapter from justjap and around $5-10 ea for the temp sensors. pics up. Note: stock rims in pic do not come with this set.
  19. Going from Manly to Cronulla is like going from Parramatta to Blacktown. Same same, but different. Same kind of lifestyle but the people are way different. To have more of a comparison of Manly, give Sylvania a go. Its just about as nice but with less yobbo's and will probably cost a bit less than living in Manly and is kind of central to everywhere. Same goes with Sans-Souci, Kogarah, Rockdale etc.

  21. or the number plates were stolen.
  22. giving away the number plate of the wrx is useless, $100 says it was stolen too.
