  1. I hope not! kn6gtr who appears to have bought it from Sly33. It was claimed to be brand new and it appeared to be completely unused. In fact it would make sense that it was never used if the mechanic had to cut the bolts because they were too long to fit! At this stage I'm going to ask RE customs to get it balanced and just hope it works, I'll update the thread on Tuesday evening.
  2. Confirmed to be a group buy shaft, serial numbers match with Sly33's shaft. I'll do another test drive today and take it to RE customs on Tuesday.
  3. Shaft installation looks fine, I suspect it's not balanced, hopefully it can be fixed.
  4. Futher research shows that the picture of the shaft is from the group buy, its in fact the same image sly33 had when he bought the shaft. I haven't checked the serial numbers to confirm if its the same shaft yet. RE Customs will confirm if the balance can be fixed or not, I did notice one person did manage to get it fixed so I can only hope I can get it balanced and working. Or that the modifications RE Customs had to do to the bolts to get it in went wrong, which is unlikely.
  5. Yes, that is what worries me I have now read the thread and finally the seller has replied to me. He did get it checked in Adeleide and they advised it was balanced, so I'm getting RE Customs to take another look on Tuesday at it, and check the balance if possible. The seller has offerred to look at the quote for getting it re-balanced. RE did have some issues with 4 bolts been two long, so I'm hoping it's a minor install issue or something a tiny bit out and it can be fixed. On the positive side the driveline clunk / sound my skyline always had is gone and the acceleration is smooth, until I hit 80km/h Also I appeared to have spelt carbon incorrectly while at work (too much multi-tasking)
  6. I'll let you know. I have got an sms now that it was tested in Adeleide without an issue. The mechanic has confirmed they will re-check their installation next Tuesday. And I'll see what I can do over the weekend. Otherwise I'm going to get a quote for re-balancing and send that quote to the seller. Personally I'd like the shaft to work rather than the refund
  7. Hi, So I've installed a carbon fibre tailshaft and it appears to be not balanced correctly. The vibration occurs at anything over 80km/h and then gets worse, 100km/h is not very drivable It is an ACPT shaft and was not part of the group buy. The seller is offering some assistance as the shaft was checked and supposedly ok before I received it. RE Customs installed the shaft. Is there anything obvious that could go wrong in the install? From what I can see you just bolt it in... Also, does anyone know where I can get the shaft balanced in Victoria? Thanks, Gareth
  8. Shaft installed by a reputable mechanic, its nice and smooth, slightly quicker acceleration. And then I hit over 70km/h and the vibration begins, by 100km/h its not really driveable. I'll remove the shaft this weekend. I'm not happy at all.
  9. I came back from a 6 week overseas holiday and I'm doing beginners programs again. It doesn't matter how long you have been training for overall, its a quick way to gain strength, although no program will work forever...I'll change it up once I stop seeing gains.
  10. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/35442-faq-general-maintenance/ http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/205993-transmission-lubricants/ I use ramps + a low profile jack to get under my car. Standard jack stands. I bought something like this a long time ago: http://www.torinjacks.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17 This one is around: https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/J041 And there are better ones that cost more $$$, there is a thread somewhere about jacks
  11. I've got a copy of it but never have really been able to test it properly The app to be accurate needs to be mounted with a good mount, otherwise movement completely throws off the calculation. One friend claimed reasonable results with it, I'm skeptical. To actually use it 0-100 or 1/4 mile you need to be in a straight line and start from a dead stop. On freeways you can't exactly stop so I've never done 0-100 properly
  12. Just FYI, my knee tendonitis appears to be cured by stretching. The only problem is I have to stretch *daily*, if I miss more than 2 days I start getting pain again. This happened when hiking overseas, weight lifting just speeds it up a little I'm not sure of the name of the stretch, it involves resting your foot on a 45degree angle (approx) against something and then straightening your leg and attempting to lean forward. The stretch occurs in the lower leg muscles but appears to stop my knee pain completely (until I forget to stretch for a couple days ).
  13. Interesting, I've increased my carb levels a little as my protein to carb ratio was extremely high for a while
  14. http://www.livestrong.com/article/264564-raw-egg-protein-facts/ I would cook it just for lowering the chance of salmonella poisoning. Oh...and you absorb a *lot* more protein when its cooked
  15. Strength and size are not completely different goals. Getting stronger nearly always involves more muscle/size
  16. Your quoting me, not Ash I'd prefer to read this article: http://blog.metaboliceffect.com/page/2/ I'm just saying its not required, there's nothing wrong with supplementing. Unless your wasting too much $$$ on supplementing, which most beginners do after a visit to GNC (that includes me quite a long time ago ).
  17. Whey protein contains BCAA's, so in general you would be discussing amounts/forms of it Personally I don't feel the need to take BCAA's, I've noticed very few lifters I've met actually do anything except a high-protein diet & whey.
  18. I can't imagine the R33 GTR version been the right length for an R32 GTR, the cars are different lengths...: http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bproduct.php?type=drivetrain&subtype=Driveshafts&brand=TRUST&series=ACPT&name=Carbon+Shaft Mentions different weights for them. I am the buyer
  19. PTC is open 10am to 9PM during the week, and 10AM to 2PM on Saturdays. Except New Years Day & Christmas day...
  20. I used iherb.com, only took 4 days to post to Australia and the postage was unusually cheap...
  21. I had a tag that never beeped from new, it still billed me I did just request a new tag and got one for free via the breeze website
  22. Lol, that belt won't save him from his bad form.
  23. Keep in mind that in a partner situation the first home owners grant is used by both people when a property is purchased, and you only get it once. I assume it would be similar when purchasing with a friend. Good luck!
  24. I don't judge people based on what they eat, so no to your first question Honey is more fructose than glucose, and fructose does zero for your insulin levels. If your trying to insulin spike dextrose would be better as that is sucrose only. However post workout (assuming your doing HIIT or weight training of some kind) is the best time to consume simple carbs, so if your doing it for the taste I'd say go for it I've read the *best* post-workout drink is chocolate flavored milk because its about the right mix for post-workout. Also the insulin spike is something that is debated among researchers, I believe in eating a meal post-workout but I always do a protein shake post-workout, but I also believe pre-workout is more important... EDIT: The post-workout window is also debatable, one of my preferred researchers, metabolic effect advises its actually hours, not minutes
