thanks for all the replies guys, i do plan on getting the car tuned after putting in injectors and a z32 afm on my current rb25 turbo to see what power it makes and then re-tuning it once i have bought another turbo, after the first tune i'll have a dyno graph for reference as well which will make turbo selection easier
-
for me response is a priority to power and 4000rpm until full boost is just not what im after, the 2530 from what i hear is more responsive and easily makes the power im after, if the garrett version turns out to be good as well i might opt for that being new and a similar price to the hypergear stuff

im not chasing max numbers and my original goal was to have a turbo that doesnt blow up when i put more boost into it, 250kw is well above my original goal in power anyway i'd be happy with 220 as that gives me more than enough to have a good time with although having the option to go up to 250 is nice, whereas on the rb25 turbo i'd be lucky to get 200 and thats with the constant worrying of if the turbo might blow
-
thanks a lot roy, i dont really plan on pushing the limits of the rb20, its a streeter so reliability is important to me, 220-230kw is the max i would be wanting out of my car, it really is a shame you cant run the rb25 turbo with more boost otherwise i wouldnt even have this dilemma haha, the cost of a new gtx2860 plus a blown 2530 does seem a fair bit more than the hypergear option but i'll definitely keep it in mind

Made a previous post and since have installed a fuel pump and dump pipe, all that's left is z32 afm, injectors, tune and possibly a turbo, I like the response of the rb25 turbo on my car, full boost by 3000rpmish but limited by the ceramic wheel, what other turbo options are out there? as cheap as possible (excluding China shit)
-
Yeah that makes sense, I definitely won't be going above 12 psi to be safe, I'm thinking for now I get the injectors and AFM, get it tuned at low boost and down the track if I feel like it get another turbo and up the power and I'll already have it setup for when that time comes, which I'm sure as every turbocharged car owner knows eventually will haha
-
I already have a boost controller in there set at 12psi by the previous owner, and I will be getting injectors because standard injectors over time will not run at 100% and it only costs slightly more to get new ones than to clean out the old ones so why not, so the general consensus is that I don't run 14 psi, get a z32 afm and opt for a better turbo?
-
I was going to go for 550cc injectors, honestly I'm not fussed if I don't get exactly 200 or more, the tuner I spoke to said running 14psi on a 25 turbo is fine along with a nistune, at this stage would an afm benefit me or will the factory one suffice?

hey guys ive started to modify my rb20 finally with the following mods: turboback exhaust, front mount, pod filter, walbro 255 fuel pump, rb25 turbo, yellow jacket coil packs, boost controller, soon coming are injectors (mainly because new means they're running at 100%) and a nistune along with 14psi boost, was wondering if i needed any more mods for this stage of power (around 200rwkw) such as z32 AFM, anything else i cant thing of at the moment thanks
-
haha i know its perfect!
-
yeah it makes the noise when i do that, so its definitely fuel pump in that case, pretty happy about that as i was going to upgrade this week anyway, time for a walbro 255
-
keep in mind this only started happening last night so the pump (hoping) might only be starting to go bad idk if this will affect your test or not
-
so to test what you're saying i should have the car running, turn it off, wait 30 seconds and then turn the key to the position right before the position where it starts the car?
