Martin Donnon has done it! There is a full feature on the build up in zoom. Their conversion was an auto. Car ran 11s on a fairly std rb26 i believe.

This is a great conversion!!! Finding a good condition 4-door 34 manual for sale is rare! Might buy a tiptronic and carry out the conversion this week. Thanks for the great advice!!

Hey, Ive brought two R33's from interstate. Both through regency. No matter what they will do a VIN check ( was registered in my name in NSW ). First one was stock, just had an exhaust. Had no worries. Second one I bought in had tinted windows, exhaust, 18s stock air box. They wouldnt register it until i removed the window tinting. They are really big on window tinting and test every car, you won't get through with it on. Its not the same workshop that you would goto if you got defected. I found some of the employees there particularly unfriendly. Guess they have a shit job really. Its also rumoured that they check the passenger kick panel for aftermarket ECUs. If you can, make the car as standard and clean as possible when you go though, you will be fine. Cheers

I had a VL commodore, dont buy one of those. They share the same engine and trans as the R31. Awesomely reliable! Although the commodore rusted out and had a terrible interior. Things to check are power steering racks ( i think , make sure no leaks) and if its an auto, check the overdrive works and engauges gears correctly.

I owned a `92 model for 2 years, replaced the clutch in the 60k odd i had it for. Ultra reliable car. But they are getting on so as mentioned above check for rust, seals etc.

Check all the insurance and that kinda thing, Whilst my r32 was being transported it was stripped and rocked up in adelaide minus indicators headlights + interior bits and pieces. I was very upset with the company to say the least. They evetually paid for it. Its a well known company. If youd like to know who it is PM me.

It apears to have never been there. The MDF on the rear shelf appears to be factory with no hole for where the wiper would come from. The wiper stalk also does not have the rear control on it. ????

Buying a car interstate is very easy to do. Ive previously lived in SA and bought a car in NSW. Make sure the NSW vehicle has adequate rego till the car can be transfered in SA. Within 14 days take your car to regency and get a vehicle ID check done. Its not a roadworthy, its a check to see if the VIN is all correct. Its just to make sure its not stolen etc.. They shouldnt give you a hard time about mods etc... Costs about 400ish for 6 months rego, and youll pay the transfer fee for the car at regency. Cancel the nsw rego and CTP greenslip on the vehicle and get some cash back. Hand in the nsw plates to a motor registry. Enjoy the savings youll make. dont know too much about cars that are unregistered. I know that if you were to get it registered in nsw first you would need a nsw address as you cant register nsw car in a sa address. Toll transport charges about 350 to send a car interstate from nsw to sa.
