  3. i think the issue marko is the 6 x 50mm throttles, not the plenum.this in my eyes is were the air will jam up on entry, as opposed to one 100mm
  4. hi marko, we tried higher boost but made no more power just slightly more torque?. but temps in the booth were 50deg as it was 30 deg outside, the extra turbo was to keep the plenum below 50degrees on the runs..lol. maybe because i am still on the original plenum its restricting it.. but it goes well.lol..very well....so for the moment leave as is.. just to add, the motor had done 45 miles on 10/40w semi synth oil, then dropped and fully synth added and dynoed...done 160 miles now ..........
  5. well she,s back on the road, new bottom end, spool rods, tomei oil pump,cheers rick @ endless, new at 1000bhp damper,cometic 1.6mm h/g, hks step 2 cams, fully ported head by me.lol. graphs and a little dyno clip of the old girl winding up.. thanks th garth/mark @ mgt for all there help in installing and mapping the link g4, superb ecu for driveability, not may cars tickover so smooth with this power.. figures are at the hubs. 640bhp @ 1.5bar boost 530 lbs @ 6600rpm. bernie.
  6. hi guys, she lives. spec is as below with power figures rb30 block fully home ported rb26 head 1.6mm cometic h/g cp forged slugs 8.3.1 spool gen 3 rods tomei oil pump ati 1000bhp front damper acl race bearings hks step 2 cams 272/in 10.2mm lift 280/ex 10.2mm lift os giken r4c clutch gt4094r turbo 6 boost manifold 50mm turbosmart gate 4" dump + 2"screamer std box, with giken centre plate and cryo treated gears power is at the hubs 470kw,s @ all 4 wheels @ 1.5 bar 530lbs @ all 4 @ 6600rpm full boost by 4300rpm will post graphs and a small dyno clip soon. car was dyno on a hub dyno in 50degree temps, its warm here at the moment.

  9. hi guys, as you know my rb26/30 spun no5 rod bearing, i have tried to resize but no joy, been onto brad and since i bought mine 3 years ago the rods ahve gone through 2 changes, in doing so have become heavier.mine is 572grams and the second gen are 604 and third are 638. does anyone on here now anyone that has damaged a rod and maybe have one or even 2/3 spare rods that brad designed first time round..any help is appreciated. already spent 5k aud on rebuild..cheers bernie

  11. hi mate, checked the butterflies, nothing odd there. intercooler is an old hks drag 4" thick one, all pipework is hks stuff, not homemade..bernie

  13. cheers marko, we dont really have exhaust people here that can mandrel bend and supply silencers of that qaulity, what would one cost made in oz and shipped to me..lol any takers.lol my hks preist would probably give me 400 uk back to spend

  15. cheers for all the input guys, been stranded in portugal till today, hence why i have have not been on. to answer some questions. all the plugs are completely intact, no electrodes or tips missing all the valve guides are intact too had a light skim on the head and its like new also stripped the gt4094r down no blades damaged on either the compressor or exhaust wheel also the is no signs of any seat damage on any valve or valve seat. gonna start the rebuild soon as i know have a crank and collar,tomei oil pump and 1000bhp ati damper, gonna use acl race bearings this time too. will update as i build..bernie uk
  16. hi t04gtr cars has always had a 19row oil cooler fitted.feedsin the top and drain at the bottom, the oil filter is mounted low on a remote so when you do and oil change the cooler empties too. no grub screw mate, collar was sweated on and has never moved no valve guides damaged at all. i find it hard to believe det after looking at the pistons.. still wondering why?. bernie
  17. hi Cartman, no mate if i ever do anything like that the cars is not in the garage, you can see some die grinding work on the head in the pics, i have over the weekend fully ported and polished the head. its away now for a light skim. now the piston tops are cleaned of they almost look as good as the day they went in..lol

  19. plugs that came out, had to drive the car cold hence why they are this colour, needed to load on trailer head nearer to front cylinder 4 ,5, 6
  20. i have stripped the turbo, nothing wrong there?. had a look in the exhaust there is some very small shiny magnetic fragments?. any idea where something that could do this had got in from..
  21. right guys a further development. looks like we have looking in the wrong place. i now suspect something has gone through the engine.from where i am not sure. below are pictures of the head on number 5 the one that spun and number 5 piston crown,, i was running a 1mm headgasket. question is whatever caused these marks would it be enoug on a 1mm gasket to jam the piston enough to cause the crank to hit the bearing momentarily?.
  22. cheers guys for replying. to answer a few questions i spoke to brad @ spool and these are the very first rods he had made. we just weighed them and fitted them not presuming they were different lengths, but then again its done over 15 trackdays and 12k so would have shown a problem sooner ?. bearings were acl duraglide oil pressure was 100 psi at 8k oil was silkolene pro r 15/50w old oil stank of petrol and had about a litre too much in, bear in mind i run twin pumps and 1000cc sards. wont take long at 8.0.1 afr to do that.was changed after afr set and prior to dyno run,car was never driven with the contaminated oil in the motor crank was checked for true when i had it polished and collar fitted also.
  23. good piont mate, i have sold the n1 on, not because its failed but because i will be revving higher when i rebuild it and just dont want to risk it.. i have run 2 x n1,s now on motors i have built no issues, my rev limit is 10k, high yes but i believe the issue with the n1 is rev limit related. so if you never hit the limiter your n1 should last. the pump has done many track days and been to 8350 rpm no issues. i am just taking a leap and trying the tomei, i have a friend running a gt42 on a 26/30 that revs over 9k and will been in the 900,s horsepower wise. so this has just swayed me to the tomei. bernie
