  1. are the R34 pics located somewhere else.. everytime i click it just errors
  2. I thought that was steve... man of few words
  3. aaah good. this is my intention I really wanted to check if it sounded unreasonable. I went there because of all the positive feedback so i hope they will come to the party. anyways in the meantime i fried the headunit of the avcr.. plugged it into the safc plug.. complete noob thing to do. sooooo.. anyone not using the headunit for a day i would like to rent one for the tuning... I am happy to pay someone to use it for the day so if anyone is a weekend warrior and not using their line for a day or 2.. drop me a PM. 1 more thing... Who actually does the tuning at Top Racing. oh and HIPSI....crossed my mind SO SO SO many times.. but seriously.. these guys get a great rap on this forum.. and this is why i went in the first place. My requirements are simple compared to the types of machines people need tuned. I reckon they will come good
  4. I took my R34 to Top Racing about a week and a bit ago. Paid them to install an Avcr and SAFC.. I had already done all the wiring for both, but paid for the loom etc to be put through to the engine bay and the solenoid and pressure sensor installed. AND THEN A TUNE I figured paying for it meant less effort for me.. too lazy anyways.. they said the solenoid on the avcr is busted. and they could only tune the safcII on 6psi factory boost. Told me to get another solenoid and then they can retune it Anyways a week and a bit later i went through the whole install myself. shortened the run of vacuum hose and relocated the pressure sensor to a different location as the book said keep the hose as short as possible. I also ran 12v over the solenoid... it make clicking noises... AKA...it was WORKING thats all i changed. then i went through the avcr itself. vehicle settings were correct. but the main thing... THE SENSOR SETTING was wrong. once i set that.. the solenoid was ticking away happily and the boost reading was coming up nicely on the display etc. perfect.. So my question is.. Do i take the car back there and ask for a retune on higher boost FOR FREE as they did not install the unit properly. I feel like this is the right thing for me to do. I paid for 3 hours worth of labour and then an hour of tuning. for an install that wasnt done properly in the first place.. any advice.
  5. I have been relocating the avcr to the factory screen location in satnav R34's Anyways long story short.. thought i had it all completely sorted.. CHUFFED is definately the word.. plugged avcr intosafc plug sort of... cooked the main unit of the avcr. excellent Now.. does anyone this its repairable by say..the guys that repair ecu's or does anyone know of or perhaps where i can get another head unit ONLY.. any advice appreciated.. well not so much the useless stuff.. but anything good is appreciated. pic of the dead avcr above the safc attached... 6. i am fuming right now I paid a workshop to do this for me.. anyways went through all the instructions step by step the sensor was NOT set correctly.. manual says DO NOT USE 3 times for the other options and tells you which one to use.. so i changed it.. and walla.. now its boosting and the solenoid has activity the duty cycle was set to 90% car didnt like have dummed it to 30% i am taking it back to the TUNER rofl I am going to ask for a retune as i paid good money the first time for an incorrect job thanks for the help lads.. i may post up a result.
  7. okay finally got round to doing this the solenoid ticks when i touch 12v to the pink wire and ground the black wire so if it is ticking this means it ISNT dead... is that right? I moved the pressure sensor to just where the fuse box it. so its a short run of hose. it was mounted in the corner nearest the driver in the engine bay.. so was at least double the length before. the BST reading on the avcr when the car IS boosting.. never reaches positive MMHG so i am going to double check the wiring to the ecu... could the pressure sensor be Kaput.
  8. love that post dude.. i guess sometimes people get so excited...thse days everything is watched. even if its other businesses watching. anyways stubmled on this. sure its no innovation.. but really.. if you wanted a sedan and the rear lights bothered you so much (as they do me) you could colour match stuff.
  9. okey dokey chucked 17's back on steering is lighter for arm strength. still feels good and accurate and yeah much wider on the 19's and heavier i would say so heavier feel makes sense for my ride
  10. agreed same here i thought it might have been heavier after the 19's went on... but not sure. definately heavier than the 33 for me
  11. are you particularly chasing a sedan? i gots a coupe coming up for sale. soonish Learning about them means a coupla things. This forum is going to be godsend.. It can also be a hindrance if you let all the opinionated L platers have a say. Easiest way is to think about the questions you may have.. So performance pathway... search forums for R34+power or r34+performance etc. Wanna know about interiors search for that.. see if there are any issues. check out the interior group buy for leather interior. you will have to sift through pages.. but you will read about what bits break etc. Or check the audio section..lots of people scratching interior panels etc, or removing things incorrectly and breaking them. Its just gonna take alot of time, but the info is all there. a few guys along the way in other parts of the country have done ALOT of the trial and error stuff on the 34's good luck
  12. So i guess i will grab the install instructions and make sure the TUNER has installed it correctly. Hopefully its something as stupid as that *fingers crossed* But if its all the right way i will grab the solenoid from nengun. Does anyone know if the AVCR actually can report is something is wrong? Is there an electrical test i can do with a multimeter to see if the avcr is actually pulsing the solenoid.. I dont know too much about multimeters.. but could possibly figure it out
  13. Hi guys, I sent my 34 off to be tuned and for a secondhand avcr to be installed. The car was tuned with a safcII and i was told that it wont produce more than 6psi boost. It appears the avcr is not doing anything.. the display etc is all working but it looks like the solenoid is not responding to anything.. So they said SOLENOID is busted. now has anyone heard of this occurance. I have found a solenoid on Nengun from apexi for an AVCR.. so I can get a replacement part at around $130. Are there other solenoids that will do the job.. Are there any tests i can do to make sure the solenoid is baked. ? anyways 6psi tune produced 237hp on an auto 34.. so i guess its a start
  14. Sort of. Just a heads up... for anyone who has used Frankie at Aspec in perth for rice bits or headlight globes etc.. He has opened a new store at Shop 8A in the Carillon City Arcade, just before you hit the food court. His old store is open on weekends i think... Shop 10/139 Murray Street next to the old greater union.
  15. I am gonna do a fill up soon and measure the 34. I just got it tuned at 6psi (lol) and will see what comes.
  16. i am inKuala Lumpur at the moment.. anyone from here or along those lines.. know if there is anywhere to buy bits... tail lights.. kit bits... dash kits.. any sort of rice at all.. holla back i am here till the weekend..
  17. oh for &*$% sake.. i was ready to get scared with that clip and then what.. looked like a rotting growth on a tree... so pissed right now.. and i dont even speak mandarin
  18. dude i got 19's on the car and they are sittin pretty without any work carried out.. mind you i did a camber kit and suspension
  19. mitchy, good to hear you turned out ok after such a horrid event. f**king speed the commodore was carrying is troubling.. stupid underbraked stocker barges methinks.... BMW M3. ftw or buy like 3 or 5 mitsubishi galant vr4 imports.. they are sooo cheap.. bwaahahaha
  20. Anything from an R33.. cassette even.. just needs to be working and Cheap or Free.. PM please
  21. you also gotta think about insurance. oh and also.. think about "the bug" turbos take to mods wel... and you can feel most of the results quickly... and you might get the BUG... so if non turbo is the way.. then stick with it. But if you think you can fight "the bug" and you can pay the insurance.. then go the turbo and drive nice. oh and buy my auto
  22. i am in perth... not sure where J Racing is.. but he has an R34 one.
  23. that yellow r34 is on cardomain. shouldnt be hard to find i think if i recall correctly there is a big write up so should say what skirts it is
  24. dude... as far as copied kits go.... you will not find alot of the japanese tuning houses represented. the ones that are are done to death... you will need to wait and wait and wait till you happen upon one.. or contact an importer etc to bring one over from japan.. and also be prepared... not much change from 5k.. if that.. might be more.. crazy
  25. oooh oooh oooh me... i think i am the only 1..
