Yeah fair enough.. was thinking tho if our problem is the oem ecu being kept happy, having something intercept the outgoing signal (to modify) and having a closed loop or oem signal returned would be the case in solving some of our problems (which I assumed a daughter board could be of benefit) literally something running the parameters of what the oem ecu should be seeing. Maps etc. (Almost like an safc or crome for honda? ) mind my ignorance

Can anyone tell me whether the mid section muffler can be kept with the aftermarket dump and front pipe? Or should I not bother trying to keep the car quiet.. I just dont want any droning and wanna keep it as stealth as possible (till WOT)..

Eh.. I have a gfb response.. once the factory one started krooing and not holding boost i knew it was a goneburger.. Good thing is you can adjust it to full recirc, or full vent, or anywhere in between. I have it full recirc with a bit of choo choo choo under light depress but the shudder is almost non existent. It has a spring tension bolt at the top which can be wound in or wound out or you can purchase a softer spring. When its 75% recirc and 25% vent it sounds nice with a PoPshhh.. some like some dont lol..

Hmm I think all iv wanted from an ecu is the ability to gain fuel economy with current mods and when upgrading + be able to tune on the fly. Iv looked at all the options and been flogged off because "its in the too hard basket" or incorrect information which steers me away from the tuner. From what I understand is Uprev and Nistune is out of the picture. Its fine if I end up putting in a different engine and gearbox, but with the way im liking the vq25det I want to keep it the way it is, just increased response in gearchanges and be it a bit quicker. Anyone wanting to pull apart a factory ecu and see if a daughterboard can be fitted like the other 'normal' ecu's? Or replicate a nismo ecu ? That would be nice Haha

No luck on my end. Tried updating the modified string and didn't even budge. Also installed the software on the disc that came with the elm and when I paired it the software program stopped working

Hmm sounds interesting.. il keep an eye on the nismo but if anyone has a well priced aftermarket ecu I'm all ears. Was there ever an ecu upgrade to the gearbox besides the refresh? (If it worked)

K so to summarize: 1) consult 3 genuine (or) copy from aliexpress roughly $160+ is the only thing that works on nm35's? 2) Torque app and the bluetooth dongle thing wont work (unless he sorts out the protocol etc? or is it a pinout issue?) 3) this is all for minor tweaks and best option is aftermarket ecu/ emanage piggyback.
