  1. I understand your point Jay95R33 and MIC33R but one thing you are both forgetting is how is it at all fair to be comparing my car that has a shoestring budget for development and research to the HPI R34 that has been on a dyno to see the gain or loss of even the smallest mod to the largest mod and a budget which enables them to race interstate to test and tune their car to get the best out of it, using people suck as Sydneykid who is a consulting race engineer and countless other industry leaders to help them achieve there goal and produce power figures and as quoted in the HPI mag No36 page 8 "If you were to buy a good R34 GTT and do the same work you wouldn't have much change from $90,000" They are 2 different cars and for very different reasons as stated above it is very unfair to compare the 2 of them even if mine has got some head work the car i'm being compared to has had all but the kitchen sink added to it to see if it gains power or not on a dyno then swapped and changed to make sure of it, to be honest I'd rather have their budget and R&D then my headwork Please no more comparisions as myself and Syndeykid have both finished and made our points I don't think a lot more can be said that is going to be constructive
  2. Looking good Rob, I love those TD series turbo's hahaha
  3. Nope there is nothing else at this point that I want to add, As stated earlier all I was trying to do was point out to you is that the TD06 is not just good for Canter trucks as you've previously quoted here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...06&pagenumber=3 And on a well set up RB25det is pulling good numbers and backing them up with good times at the creek so I agree with you that they are maybe not the best and there is probably a lot better but in future if you could just be a tad kinder in your description of them I would appreciate it as one day when I sell my car if anyone was to search and read your comments it would be a very bad thing
  4. I still don't understand why you plotted the curve out?
  5. It has tomei 264, 8mm lift cams, It also has a greddy plenum as far as I know its got some description of head work as it was listed in the specs when I bought the car but I have no idea what is done Other then the plenum (that you don't think much of from reading your previous posts) its pretty well the same mod wise as HPI R34 I thought
  6. I'm trying now to host it so you can see it better, It wouldn't let me post a bigger pic, I don't really know where your going with this but If I've made a mistake with one of the figures by a few kw thats all it is, is a mistake I tried to calculate it as best I could
  7. Heres a pic of my dyno sheet so you can see for yourself
  8. Its my car I just didn't want anyone to know at first, but I guess that went out the window 10 posts ago Look I'm sure we've both made our points several times over, I'll reply in PM from now on but enough is enough
  9. Ok I guess the discussion is over but let me point out you chose to not answer any of the questions I asked about what time the HPI R34 ran at EC and which car you were talking about that had less peak power but was as fast We both know you were talking about one of your cars that kept you in the discussion and has around the same average power but is just as fast as a car with higher maximum power (even 10% more isn't enough) because it was actually my car that had less average and less higher power but managed to be as fast as one of your fully workshop prepped cars you wouldn't like to admit to that though I guess I will remember this for future discussions if you just choose not to answer any of the questions you can't look bad As for you point about Trust turbos give good max power, but there are other turbos that give the same max power but deliver higher average power in the rpm range I use. That makes them both faster and easier to drive. My first power figures from the remapped factory ecu are a lot higher on average and at peak then your GT3040 and has not been used at the creek yet for you to be able to show or know how fast it will be so don't bother picking one RPM and saying but down here because as quoted by you in the 1st post Tell me the average power over the useable rpm range, now that's something meaningful. So for fun why don't we just say my use able rpm range is 4500- 7500rpm (which it is) 4500 = 176rwkw 5500 = 264rwkw 6500 = 312rwkw 7500 = 327rwkw Average 269rwkw so peak power and average is a lot better then your beloved GT3040 and I find the car very easy to drive on the street because of the suspension set up and tyres I use, now for how fast it is at the Creek we wont know for a couple of weeks but I'm sure I'll let you know
  10. Once again its a TD06 25g Could you PM me you mobile number or some way of contacting you please as you didn't answer the above question as to which car you were talking about that was under powered that made you stay in the discussion
  11. I do apologise for the way I made my point starting this thread I know it was a bit rude or even immature but honestly all I was trying to do is show Sydneykid that the td06 isn't as bad as he makes out
  12. Please humour me for one more post then as I don't understand the above comment are you talking about my car being the underpowered car as when I ran the 12.2 it was at 280rwkw I have never ran the car with the 327rwkw for you to know what it can do I posted that I was at low boost a few times in the previous posts and low boost is 280rwkw Heres the figures I had at low boost with the power fc 4000 = 96rwkw 5000 = 184rwkw 6000 = 232rwkw 7000 = 270rwkw Average 195rwkw so really I was making a lot less power They are the exact figures I ran the 12.2 your comparing, The figures I quoted at the start of the thread are with the factory ecu and I haven't ran at the creek when I've had it in yet, To be honest I think I wuill go back to the factory rechipped ecu as I like its power better
  13. Becuse Sydneykid has posted several times how bad the TD06 turbo is and even at one point said they are off a truck and only good for a truck, I don't like the fact that he does this and wanted to prove a point, I didn't expect him to agree with me I just don't wan him always saying negative things about something he obviously knows little about
  14. Yep I know what you mean, I done the same thing with lower boost to get the 12.2 because I was scared of snapping another drive shaft like I had the meet before at high boost
  15. rev210 doesn't Eastern Creek strip slope up just a touch? R34 done a 1.852 60ft, 110mph and ran a 12.4? but down there done a 1.89 60ft 119mph and does a 11.9 so there must be some difference other then start grip
  16. My downfall was that I'd just put in a C's shortshift 2 days earlier and was changing gears very gently so I didn't miss a gear like I did in the previous runs, my mph was 118 and if your car has so much better low down power shouldn't it have a better 60ft then mine? And as I stated above I was running at low boost which is 280rwkw so more than likely yours did have more power on the 2 runs we're comparing And once again what is the best time the R34 has ran at Eastern Creek? So what your saying is that a car like mine that the power comes on quite late and hard is harder to drive? So it is holding its own? What is the HPI R34 to you? did you tune it or help set it up? as you seem quick to use it as a reference but can't seem to understand that with the amont of money, research and development that has gone into that car it should be a lot faster then my old TD06 but for some reason it isn't? So its either that i'm the best driver in the world or the TD06 is not a bad turbo and and is holding its own andyou've been wrong in your previous posts about it being a good truck turbo only
  17. Originally posted by Sydneykid Hi guys, comparing maximum power at one single rpm point is a waste of time. Tell me the average power over the useable rpm range, now that's something meaningful. end quote And have a look at who's now quoting one single RPM point BWAHAHAHA
  18. Come off it Sydneykid you pick the one RPM point your car is better and they are not similar times at all as my car is far from running its best time as I ran the 12.2 at low boost and done a 1.8 60ft what did yours do? Oh and you forgot to mention you are comparing me a once a month racer with a small budget, to the HPI R34 GTT with a huge budget and time to race interstate and explore every option to get faster so sorry if I think I am holding my own against someone like that by running a faster time then them at Eastern Creek
  19. Fair enough Sydneykid but how about in future you think of this thread before you start telling everyone that the TD06 is a truck turbo or not suited to a RB25 as some of us are very happy with them and I think I have just proven why My turbo is a new TD06 25g I didn't say 20g I can get a new td06 25g off Nengun for $2600 delivered and I just called GCG Turbo's and was quoted $2960 for a Garrett GT3040 so IMO the TD06 is not bad value And when that GT3040 needs rebuilding what would the cost be compared to the TD06 being rebuilt?
  20. Oh and might I add the 12.2 was ran at low boost which is 280rwkw so its still far from running its best time
  21. Its still got 308rwkw at 8300rmp so it holds well I think The R34 you speak of ran that time at Heathcote ,what was the best he did at Eastern creek? If my memory serves me well it was a 12.4 so to be fair we'll compare that time against the 12.2 at 118mph with Nitto's that this car has ran at EC with a driver thats far from great and doesn't get to travel from state to state playing with his car and set up The point i'm trying to make is quite often you have been less than flattering about the Trust TD06 turbo and and how it doesn't perform and should only be on a Mitsubishi Canter as its a truck turbo but from what we've just compared it seems to be holding its self quite well against your times and averages quoted
  22. At 4000rpm the turbo hasn't kicked in yet is why it doubles, and going from your info in the quote the average power is what matters so why is your 223rwkw average good but this 240rwkw average only OK? The power pretty well levels out at 7000rpm making 327rwkw and keeps around that to 8100rpm The car is drag/street in that order and from my experience is good to drive on the street as the suspension and tyres he uses are set up for tratcion and not track
  23. Sydneykid going from the info you quoted above can you tell me, if a friend of mine is making At 7,000 rpm it has 320 rwkw At 6,000 rpm it has 296 rwkw At 5,000 rpm it has 230 rwkw At 4,000 rpm it has 114 rwkw Which is a average of 240rwkw Whats your thoughts on those figures? and does the turbo seem well matched for the engine going from the info supplied?
  24. Damn who told you we put all the AWD racers in my boot for traction

If its the one I'm thinking of its aslo runs slicks at the creek
