  1. hey guys the manual gearbox is in , i havent strapped it heaps yet, as i have a screw in my tyre , and gettin that fixed up today. i DO notice that it feels a bit quicker, and feels strong no whines or anythin in the gearbox, he did remind me that it is a brand new heavy duty clutch, and machined flywheel, 5 speed manual from rb25det. mod plate gettin done this arvo with manual console . and gettin the auto gearbox back, so if anyone wants a autogearbox for cheap, let us know ! it was actually 2500 which is still good, and would still work out to 2000 when i sell teh auto and tailshaft and torqueconverter. but yeah i reckon its worth it , and power fc is l8er to come. and also down the quarter times very soon .
  2. i have been told by some performance mobs around the place , about the wolf 3d v4 cause i was after a ecu for my r33 auto mercury motorsport apperntly can do the tune and whateva , but they are located in brisbane. but have heard the wolf 3d's are more suited to a commodore or somethin like that rather then a turboed vehicle. As mercury motorsport, (from memory) have dealt with these ecus b4, i would talk to them about it. mite be able to help over the phone, but ya mite have to take it into somewhere. l8ers
  3. guys its everythin included gearbox, brand new clutch, tailshaft mod platted and certificate, new oil put in, all i had to buy after it was a gear stick cover boot thing. which was 30 bucks l8ers
  4. gettin it done through defiant engine conversions the cost includes brand new clutch, tailshaft, mod platted and cert, machined flywheel new oil, drive in drive away i should get it back tomorow arvo i dont know the comparison yet, i just went by figures from manual skylines i have seen down the quarter and rwkws to autos with the same mods. approx i will tell yas when its done , and when i go down the quarter
  5. was that 180kws at the treads? not too bad for a hyundai im not too familiar with the non turbo engines but with rb25 gtst engines i know they are fairly restricted. like the standard exhaust, the side mount intercooler, Standard psi turbo being limited to running 10psi, can run more but have chance of getin fins through the exhaust. But other ppl seem to run more and be fine . for a while . Standard ecu, after upgrading these things then ya have maxin out the injectors, decresing the life of ya engine, then thinkin of cams, cam gears then ya have to think about gearbox, strengthening that . upgrading fuel pump . and then tuning all the shit. Skylines do have the cacpacity of makin some huge hp just have to get all the restrictions out of the way. and upgrade a few, well a heap of things hahaha but if you wantin over 300kws at the wheels, and ya have the money to spend then i would opt for the rb26dett .

All depends how far ya wantin to go with it How many Rwkws ya after ? im guessin with the stock non turbo engine is somethin around 100rwkws and standard turbo rb25 engines have an average of 120-140rwkw but then again ya rb26dett ya looking at about 230-250rwkws, but also comes with a hefty price tag to fit and buy . depends who ya know though. correct me if im wrong. for the price and power and availabiltiy i believe i would go for the rb25det . but thats my opinion. My mods are on my car for example at the moment: Front mount intercooler AVCR Controller 10psi Ces Racing split dump Highflow cat 3 1/4 exhaust i went from completly stock from 122 rwkw to 166 just from doin those things there i did a 15.2 down the quarter with mods and completly stock was a 16.1 but my car is an automatic which i have more power loss then a manual thats why im convertin to manual now. But yeah its all up to you though where ya wantin to go with it but as soon as ya start, the more ya will want to do. haha but its good shit Anyway theres my opinion for ya.
  7. well, thats why my car was goin F@#kin slow as down the quarter gear changes are like 1 sec im loosin and seeing these ppl doin standard around 13 and stuff i have FMIC, AVCR on 10psi CES RAcing split dump to cat 3 1/4 exahust and my best was 15.2, so the 40% power loss sounds about right. GReat Guns wwoohhooo!!! manual is just around the quarter. This would be good to show as well of what the power differences are down the quarter. remember that 15.2 down the quarter in an auto in a week i'll go down the quarter and i'll see what i do , just to give you guys an idea, THanks
  8. hey guys due to the restrictions in aftermarket ecu options , and wantin to take the Hp to another level, im changin my gearbox to manual i got a price o 2 grand for the gearbox, tailshaft, and clutch fitted i thought it wasnt too bad. gettin it done on the 6th of june, hopefully notcie a bit more power, less restriction and a betta quarter time down the strip, also being able to control corners and power out of them, knowin what gear im goin around the corner in. i know 1st and 2nd i can control, which i luv but 3rd to 4th and back i cant and really have to stomp the accel to whack it back, i do admit the auto is fun to drive and was considerin auto quick shift, but tryin new things, and wantin 250rwkw and up, not wantin to go through piggybacks, or full ecu's knowing the gears are goin to be harsh and f@#k it up. anyway lettin yas know what im doin, and i'll say i'll let yas know how it goes but i'll prolly forget too. So pm if ya want .
  9. yeah well the guy i spoke to prolly is the fella that starts with T cause he did seem up himself. i Dont expect them to remember every wheel, for a skyline, but he could of helped a bit with showing me different wheels, giving me some numbers to ring, and where i should go. As i dont know the offset and size of rims and that, i was originally just goin in there to have a look, that was it. Im sure that most of the ppl that work at bob jane at taringa, nice and helpful pppl, but it just takes one person to ruin there reputation. As for me , i probably would be able to get a set of nice mags there for a good price, that would fit, but i choose not to go there again. If anyone knows of a good wheel shop, with a wide range of wheels to look at, i would appreciate it. Thanks

How can i be a "twathead" for wanting a set of wheels, and giving hoons a worse name ? how exactly? by havin a look at the wheels they had to offer , then gettin told ya have limited choice in wheels for my car. then driving off If thats what ya call being a hoon nowadays, well looks like im a hoon. fair enough to other cars, skylines are limited for wheel options, but as i was sayin i have seen a fair number of wheels on skylines, that im guessin are clearing the brakes, and hopefully have the correct offset, and track . Also as i didnt say in my first post there i did say do ya have any wheels here that fit a skyline and he said no, and the wheel dealer or wahteva, wasnt open today. I thought fair enough, but he could of given me a number to ring to arrange at lookin at some wheels or wheels that would fit ?? I would of been happy with that. but he then walked out the back , and then i walked out. He just had a attitude of not wantin to sell anythin, and not wantin business. And as for him tellin me to get stuffed if i went in again, I Dont want to go back there so fair enough, and i believe i didnt do anythin wrong, he was the one being rude and not wantin to do business. Hey guys, i went into bob jane today just looking at wheels as i was bored , and is just down the road ppl in qld in brisbane ( taringa) ya mite know where it is one of the fellas that worked there, asked me as i walked in can i help ya and all that crap . i said just looking thanks then he said what car are ya lookin at putttin wheels onto i said the skyline parked out the front ( r33 gtst 1993) he then said, well ya goin to be very limited in wheels, because of the offset ? Is this true?, just had me stunned and i said righto. walked out and spun the wheels up the road, cause he just pissed me off with his attitude. ( After i thought this was not appropiate behaviour hahhaha pffttt) As i have had my skyline for nearly 8 months now, and checkin out most of the skylines on the road and what wheels they have , and the different styles i have seen , got me thinkin does this fella know what he's talking about . or is there majority of the ppl out there running round with the incorrect offset wheels on there cars. Just to let yas know im not goin back there again, and thought the guy was a tosser. Is there any good quality wheel shops in the brisbane area/gold coast, that you would recommend for price, quality and service. THanks If i have put this thread in the incorrect forum im sorry . Hey had my avcr in for a while got autobarn to install it (slacks creek) and apc to tune it to 10psi both settings on the avcr are goin up to 0.8 bar im wantin to put it back to standard boost cause anythin over 0.6 boost just not goin as hard should i just go to a performance joint and get them to set it or is there a eaasy way to put it back to standard (preferably puttin it on to Setting A. Hey guys got some things for sale, autometer boost gauge $ 70 , i think its 1/16th , still in box hasnt been used didnt get to use it as, i got a avcr controller turbosmart adapter kit for r33 $60, still in box, never got a blow off valve. and intercooler piping, brand new neva used $240, arrived in the post when i already used other piping. Style: goes behind the intercooler , not over the top of engine. 3 inch mandrel bent pipe. for an 800X300X75 If interested in photos, send us ya email and i'll send them over. l8ers
  17. when i went down the quarter i stalled it up to about 2500 and .4 or .5 boost in 1st gear then changed to 2nd and drive Should i try goin down in just drive ? I have CES racing split dump 3inch Catback 3 1/4 hyper Medallion exahust AVCR controller set on 10psi 600X300X75 hybrid intercooler K&n panel filter APC did a compression test and found the 6 cylinder was 130 and the rest were 150 I havent been in another auto yet, but it feels like my gearchanges between 2 and 3rd are pretty slow or is it just normal. pulled a alright skid though hahaha. What other things should i be lookin at to get myself in the 13's bracket?
  18. my 60 ft time was 2.356 and did 91mph. so yeah dont know whats goin on there then. i'll get the car looked at and do what needs to be done next thing is injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, cams, trans cooler, stg 2 quick shift, highflowcat, afm then turbo. so should be gettin a bit betta from then
  19. series 1 1993 had 122.3rwkw stock and after those little mods it did 166.9rwkw so slowly moving up . Would this time that i did be accurate to the dyno rating 166.9? considerin the reaction time and all of that?

Hey guys went to willowbank test and tune last nite after doin a 16.1 last time completely stock AUTO i have improved abit with the help of a FMIC avcr controller set on 10psi CES racing split dump . My time i did last nite was 15.2 with a .640 reaction time . im off saving for my next lot of things to do to make it quicker

Hey guys my options are very limited now . as with ecu's and holding the power im looking at I'm thinking in my situation and what im actually wanting to do with the car is best to convert to manual. Does anyone know of any good ppl around in brisbane that can do a maunal conversion on my r33 gtst And if you know how much that would be great Thanks

  23. Hey spoken to tim possingham and he reckons to go for the microtech LT12 s as a full wire over kit The people im goin to speak to next is the gearbox places. Im wantin to keep the car as auto, if its goin to cost more then a manual conversion, to strengthen the gearbox, get a shiftkit thats goin to be able to handle the power. and a big transcooler, and other required crap then so be it. The good things i like about the auto is. holding boost while its changin gears Not being able to stuff up gearchanges Not being worried to know what gear im in . Not many ppl have great knowledge of a high hp street auto. And the knowledge of what ecu is compatible with the autobox Thats not goin to affect gearchanges or the code. i know that i dont know much about the auto now but i want to be familiar with it so i'll find out i'll let yas know how i go im also want to occassionally drift and drag, but other then that its goin to be cruise around car on weekends. thanks for yas ideas, thoughts and advice

Ok what are the emanage or the safc 2 good for , like how many kilowatts im wanting to stick with the auto . i know with the wolf 3d are more designed for more the non turbo, like ya commodores and stuff . i have heard that the power fc from numerous ppl , that doesnt work with the gearchanges and also heard that it doesnt work too bad . So with my choices with ecus are gettin limited to what power im wantin. also what power can an ems hold? Theres gotta be someone out there that has around 280rwkw, an auto , and runs nice. like to know what there running. So as it stands at the moment im doing fuel pump wednesday then will be looking at gettin quick shift kit and trans cooler . ecu ( what i dont know now) then turbo then fuel rail kit and cams . thanks for all ya help
  25. yeah i forgot to put in ecu im goin to order in a direct plug in power fc . And yeah i mite do the valvebody and the trans cooler b4 i start boostin the gt35R up. The gt35r is good for up to 680hp . Fuel rail kit contains bigger injectors, fuel rail and any regulators. Yeah so if everythin goes to plan thats whats goin to happen.
