I reckon even a stock car with PFC will see great gains in power and response. It's not just power you gain, but also response since timing is changed too. Response makes it fun!

or maybe faulty sensor connection? ensure the wires leading to the sensor are making proper contact.

I wouldn't even bother. You'd need new throttle cable lines too. For the money you spend doing that, you could do something better.
