i recently did the converision for my car and i wholely agree with StarioTurbo - the rb25 has so much more low-end torque and is a whole lot smoother than the rb20. I can do roundabouts in 3rd gear, don't have to downshift as often to pick up the pace and the car launches like no tomorow. I would highly recommend the conversion to anyone. Engine + PFC = 200rwkws. Thats more than enough to have alot of fun with on the road. I'm not sure, but would 200rwks out of an rb25 be equivalent to 220rwks out of an rb20? Due to engine capacity? I've been thinking about this one for a few days now....

yeah, i cut the end off my stock shifter. Didn't need to re-thread it. Felt a whole lot better too, heaps shorter throw. I reckon if u cut the end of an actual short shifter you'll be loving life.

cost me $3K to get it done at a workshop. that's everything plus tune, water pump, timingbelt, wiring. RB25 box install and modify tailshaft, gearbox mounts also

what condition are the door trims in? how much will you do the entire rb25 set up for? thanks

after about 10 laps drifting i can almost see thru my turbo. No sh*t, it gets so hot it almost becomes see thru. that turbo died shortly afterwards...

i'm guessing its your fuel pump. My mate had a similar problem with his rb20 that was stock apart from filter. He blew his turbo last night. Poor Kid.

haha lol, yeah mate, that's including paint.....lol be pretty expensive w/out don't u think? i think he paints everything apart from the engine bay...and he does a mint job too.

a few peeps here might know that i undertook that the rb25 conversion quite recently, and i finally got her back last thursday. She runs like dream. Brad from Chasers undertook the entire conversion himself (thanks heaps bro! ) and Paul from Motec played around with the boost to get it all good. the engine made 173rwkw on 9psi with FMIC and catback exhaust, but the most impressive part is that the power curve is as linear as a V8's. She pulls in every gear, and low end power is amazing. Can't wait to get the PFC in!! So a big thanks to the boys at Chasers - you guys did a terrific job and in good time too. now, for anyone else who has done this conversion, i've just got a few quick questions to ask: what did you guys do about the speedo>? Mine doesn't work anymore...i've got a GTR speedo, what else do i need to make it work? Strut brace - my current strut brace doesn't fit over the RB25 plenum - can anybody recommend one that will fit nicely? BTW - i now have a RB20 engine+box sitting there, complete package. If anyone is interested in picking it up the, PM me. Box does not include clutch, flywheel, pressure plate. Thanks in advance for any help.

speedo needle won't snap mate, it'll just go as far as it can physically go then stop ie. the bottom of the instrument panel and LOL, the engine won't blow......unless your in a barina or something....lol

my mates uncle up in coburg (newlands road) has got a small panel shop - Ekinci Panels. $2500 and he'll have your car looking better than showroom. Its a bit up there in the price but he does a hell of a good job. My missus had her car done there and it came out brand new. Let me know if you still want it done.

ok ok ok i started this thread in the hope that people would share their knowledge of the different BOV's and the sounds they make in the hope of finding the one i'm after. now it seems ppl just like to argue and prove others wrong. As a forum i thought we were meant to help each other gain knowledge, not flame each other everytime someone makes a mistake. how else are we meant to learn? now, i've had both the apex'i twin chamber and the SSQV. The apex'i was good (don't know why i got rid of it), and the SSQV got really annoying after awhile, like someone else mentioned. At low boost the slight flutter (yes, it DOES make a slight flutter sound) was good, however, at high boost the whistling started to get really annoying. I know that most flutter can come from reverberation, and depending on what filter it makes a different sound eg. HKS mushroom made a flutter. i've recently changed to a K&N pod and found that it now sounds more like a silent fart (weird, but it does, like a subtle 'whoosh') i'm not a huge fan of BOV's, i think the stock one is fine, but if i can find the one that i'm after then i will get it. I''ll try the Turbosmart Veeport 2, and the Greddy as was suggested by a few others in this thread, and see how they go. but nobody has answered if they know what the r2d2 sounds like. hey dude i feel your pain, and i'm sure 80% of the ppl on these forums do too... we go thru ups and downs, cars are just like girlfriends.... up and down, this 'n' that - they cost us heaps and give us headaches, but when they do work, and work well, f*ck, they put a smile on our faces don't they? cheer up, it ain't all bad

hey, could you show some pics of the motorised spolier? I've got the button in my car for them, but don't have the actual spolier....just curious to see what it look like... cheers
