  1. This car is $5k for the entire lot, it takes a up a lot of space in my driveway/carport. I'd be happy to entertain all interest (interstate etc). I can prove it runs, moves etc. Happy to take more photos (of specific items) or create videos. Happy to assist with transportation depending on the situation (i'm not going to drive it to Broome).

The car is genuine, and is (I feel) quite cheap. The cost of the safety items alone tallys to around $4k, so call it another 1k for the car, the wheels and the spares.

There's a Lemons event coming up at Calder park. They're using the banked turns, surely someone is keen to participate with this car.

  2. Thank you,
It is an Australian headunit and after some searching on other forums I found that window tint effects the antenna.
So I've bought an aftermarket antenna and will test fit it tomorrow to see if that fixes the problem.
I'm glad you found this info... never occurred to me. [emoji848]
I was going to suggest using an FM transmitter and see if the radio works when your transmitting from in the car.

Come back if your new antenna doesn't work. Happy to keep throwing ideas at you. [emoji16]
  3. If the radio came from Japan *(installed in the car already) then the frequency band will be out.

If it is an Australian radio it shouldn't be an issue.

Assuming you have an Australian radio check that the antenna is connected to the head unit properly (it just pushes in). Air gaps in RF systems aren't normally helpful. Make sure the cable hasn't been damaged or cut anywhere.

An antenna cable that has been crushed is as good as useless as it will be creating an RF short, thereby meaning no signal will run the full length of the cable. Check the antenna cable for damage.

  4. To everyone on SAU, I'll start off by immediately saying that I do not own a Skyline of any description. BUT- I've heard many good things about them and much high praise for all generations. I am a car enthusiast, I love all things RB and all things JDM. I'm looking to buy a facelift R32 GT-R soon (NOT R33 or R34!), so I thought I'd speak to the people who know the car the best and know all of its quirks and common problems, so I know to make the decision to buy or not, completely dependent on what I hear over my time on the forum.
    Cheers!
    A.
Welcome. For sure you've come to the right place on the internet. There's a wealth of knowledge on this site. Give the search button a go for some generic info, otherwise ask away! [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]
  5. I would think Skylines Australia United. Why when it seems to be euros united more so.

I undersrand people come here with allsorts but isnt this a skyline fan site. How come im the only one stickin up for skidlines over euro?

Does the site maybe need a new name or is this some kind of a joke using skylines in the name to entice but then talk up euros instead.

I think i covered this earlier in a different thread but I'll have another go. As someone who wasn't here ten or fifteen years ago I assume that the landscape was slightly different. I imagine that 10 years ago an owner here would daily or have only the one car that was a Skyline.

I would be surprised if it were the same now.

In those ten years my own personal experience of trying to daily a modified car by keeping it running, trying to dodge cops for fear of canaries and just plain effort that is required to drive a loud obnoxious car has proven that running a strictly daily car and modifying a weekend car is king.

Having a daily frees you up to have a nice car and sweet/fast/crazy/low project car that's fun on the weekends. It stops people from project car burnout or at least delays it.

In fifteen years the import scene has changed dramatically, as has the public opinion of "dangerous driving styles". I'm sure most people knew idiot drivers back then, but now in the age of phones with HD video and imaging, ACA beat ups and dashcams, driving like a dick on the road costs dearly. You can't do it like you used to.

We need to be more organised and above board when we go out for cruises or track thrashes.

So how is this relevant? It's relevant because we all want to be included. We all want to have fun without ruining it for everyone else.

If you've never driven a true exotic car try it. Having 500+ hp at the wheels is amazing when it can be so comfortable and compliant at everything else. Sure my GTR will destroy all on a drag strip. But I'd be lying if i said it were comfortable, easy to drive and I didn't stall it five times everytime I took it out.

We all have our own Skyline goals, but there's only so many 10s of thousands I'm going to throw in before a nice Aston, Porsche or Ferrari starts to look tempting for the same price I've dumped into my car.

At some point I'm going to move on from Skylines (probably) and I'd like to stay here.

We should always be striving to be inclusive when people are respectful and they meet the same principles we hold ourselves to.

There's enough hate and bs in the world already. Car people need to stop hating on other car people already.

    End rant... [emoji106]

  6. I know they're rare but are they rare enough that the blue LM I saw at Monash hospital many months ago was separate to any of these mentioned?

I think that the other LM in Melbourne maybe didn't sell across to Canada like people had thought.

Apparently according to Eric (LM) someone from Melbourne contacted him with a mint one in Mlebourne he's thinking if selling. I'm thinking it might have been that one. Someone else saw another one the other day.

Somehow I've lost track of them... ah well

Oh and Eric's LM is coming here. I believe it arrived last Friday. [emoji7]

  7. Funny enough my total spend for my R33 is edging near 50k (including cost of the car), cost excluding servicing and consumables.

I would still probably lose to that Golf R around the track and on the drag strip. Roll Racing or mile, 1/2 mile different story.

I'm semi-confident that my car would be able to beat a Golf like that. Buuuut, the receipts for my car add up to almost as much as that Golf. Plus the car... on paper the Golf is a good buy.

Edit: i didn't pay that much, but the previous owner sure went to town.

  8. oof that back up camera.... you can really see it. ?

Otherwise I really like the shape of these, they just look solid, but classy. I can't really explain it. I think these are an amazing looking car and with some super minor changes look almost timeless.

  9. Aaahhhh goddamn it! I've been trying to convince my wife we need an R34. Was thinking of flying up to have a look. Guess not.

    Thanks@djvoodoo [emoji106][emoji106]

i got it from a private owner who imports, but i wasn't too happy with his work. he doesn't know or care what hes doing most of the time prefer to take it to someone who knows and takes care of their customers car.

Sorry, i think i've misled you there a bit.

You asked at the beginning which importers would be best if you wanted to bring in a different car.

  11. Went to see surgeon on 7th day. He said I was just unlucky that I blew up but most of the pain was my fault for wearing loose underwear one day even if I only walked a short distance

I wasn’t sore for the first 48 hours but then each day got worse.by day 7 I was in tears to walk. I was sore cos of cracked skin from excessive swelling but most of the pain came from a ligament between my hip and leg tearing from the weight hanging off it.

It seems to be common to swell up but it’s usually pain free.

Ok... I'm hoping that's not me. My surgeon suggested I'll be able to get back on my bike within a week. Maybe I'll just push that back. Regarding underwear (sorry to lower the tone all), are normal briefs/y cuts ok or should i be getting something else?
