sack that gauge entirely - it will probably cost you more to fix it than fit an aftermarket one... I may have a R33 dash for sale in the next week though...

Sorry to dig out an old thread, but i've just put in Redline blue into my gearbox and it feels crap (done about 400kays)... any updates, ken? does yours feel better now, and how many kays did it take? Cheers
-
umm, nark, what planet were you driving on at this point last night?

Go to a signwriter. They can do laser cut vinyl stuff for about 30 bucks i'd guess. My neighbour does them for me , but takes ages as its not a priority for him. I need to get some done this week (not 'for sale', but something else) so if i find a signwriter that does it for a good rate i'll post again

If anyone has tried changing their gearbox oil, i have a small tip. On the weekend my mechanic and I did engine, gearbox and diff oil on my car and ran into a bit of a problem. We used just floor jacks so didn't have heaps of room under the car, and after spending 20 mins trying to undo the bottom bung on the 'box finally got it undone and drained... why nissan do it up so tight i will never know. Hint: dont get gearbox metal splinters from the magnetic pickup from the bung. They hurt. So, after letting it drain, we replaced the bung and went for the top one... 3 hours, breaker bars, levers, etc etc later and the bugger still wouldn't budge. So we were presented with quite a problem. Finally we discovered the speedo sender (i think) just behind the fill bung - a 10mm bolt and 20 seconds later and that was out. Filled the gearbox up through there, and all was well. Damn, if nissan screw the rest of the car together as well as the gearbox bungs, they will never fall apart!
