  1. SOLVED

    simple solution.

After wrecking by brain, i ended up jist giggling everything i could.

At one point last week I noticed that the left side signals shut off for a split second. I wasn't sure what triggered it.

I spent time cleaning up wiring, re-wrapping and adding DT connectors to my IC7 stuff.

I bought a new hazard and stalk hoping that would work. The stalk did fix some function issue but not the steady on. Hazard didn't fix it.

I started just tracing everything. Once I got to the engine bay I notice my engine harness was droopy. I started moving it and the signals flickered. Come to find out that the starter + turned off sigmals when it grounded out on a bolt

I have a Wiring Specialties pro harness so I'm not sure if this is specific to it.

So it should work proper once I hook everything up

Are you sure you can use LEDs in the indicator lamps? On a car that old? It doesn't work on many old cars because the indicator relay can't cope with the wrong impedance out at the lamp positions and the LEDs will happily light up even with minimal current flowing through the indicator relay.

And when I say "indicator relay" I mean the flasher, not a relay relay.

Beyond that, I would say that you have caused yourself a wiring fault and that you would be well advised to work through the wiring diagram and the actual loom with a multimeter.

I've had these LEDs and a LED EP34 flasher relay in the car since 2020.

    No fuses were popped either.

I'll multimeter and clean off the tarnish tomorrow. From how the lights were acting after I diddle the stick make me lean towards a stalk problem.

  3. Did some more messing around with this issue.

I think the stalk is the problem. i wiggled it around a bit. When i went to put the signal up for a left turn, all the signals blinked lol.

I'm gonna try and clean the tarnish off the copper and see if that works.

this still doesnt explain why the left side/fronts are constant on ACC/On after i pulled the stalk. may be a ground from the stalk thats causing it.

    IDKkKkKk. I'll report back

  4. Hello,

Has anyone experienced their signal light being constantly on when parking or headlights are on?

I'm putting my car back together after painting. I didn't pull out the hole chassis harness.

I hooked up the chassis harness in the bay along with semi-installing a new ecu harness.

I put power to the car today to play some musicand check on thing while I worked.

I noticed when I put on the parking lights that the left rear signal was constantly on. I thought for whatever reason. All the signal light needed to be install. The rear left signal did turn off after all the other signal bulbs where installed, but now the other 4 are lit. The left 2 are brighter than the right. I noticed that if u pull out the front left bulb them the left rear turns back on.

    Strange.

Hazards work fine. Activating the signal from the stalk works. I unplugged the signal stalk power to see if that may have been the issue. Removed the fuse for the signals and they stay on constant but not blink.

I have LED 194/T10 bulbs. They're not switchback.

Things worked as normal before I took thing apart and painted. The only new things I wired were two removed leads to my fuel pump relays.

Could it be the stalks? I bumped them plenty while working. Just from today I assessed them good and no flickering from contact on so it's hard to say it's the stalks.

The issue somewhere in the chassis harness?

It's more so let's say your OEM FPCM dies, even though you're not using it at all now, your relays aren't latching and you'll have pumps that don't work.

Just removing the potential future issues.

    Thx for the explanation.

I de-pinned the fuel relay wire from the front junction branch that runs to the rear of the car by, then extended the wire to the back. I then spliced a T into that wire ran for my 2ea signal wires for the pump.

There where multiple wires of the same color in the rear branch so it was just easier to run a wire up from the ECU.

Get the signal before all the FPCM crap.

    Thx man!

I'm gonna cut the wire before it splits the OEM relay/FPCM then run 2ea signals to the new relay module.

I imagine picking the signal up after may want to override the new relays and use the old one and with FPCM not being grounded it would cause issues?

  7. I'm getting ready to tackle some fueling mods. I just purchased the Frenchy's Twin Pump In-Tank Fuel System Kit. I also bought a Fuel pump relay module to power the pumps.

ECU is an Elite 2500. The fuel pump relay wire is pinned off a DPO slot.

My question is: When picking up the signal wire (teal wire w/ gray) is it better to pick it up before the OEM relay and  FPCM or will picking up next to the hat cover fine?

I'm mounting the Relay module on the hat cover and since that wire will be close I'd rather pick it up there.

    Arggg my saga continues.

The recap, ordered in November, told March, invoiced with April.

Month on month delay with new date. Latest being mid August as the eta.

Now of course another company is advertising the product, I phone them, they claim a 2 week turnaround.

Chasing original company,  as mid august is here, no answers on messages or phone.

They figured u paid them to not provide a product. Seems to be the trend with these mfrs.

So just to add insult to injury, the new shop that has my differential called me earlier today to inform me that I'm missing a few bolts with my differential. I thought my days of dealing with the original shop were over, but surprise; it isn't.

Luckily after calling them, they found the parts and delivered them to the new shop. I was about to lose my shit. It also seems the new shop has already started working on it, so hopefully I'll finally get it back this week.

Good thing they found them. Last thing you want to hear is them acting like they don't know what you're talking about

Here's a long story, but I'm currently having roughly the same issues. I dropped off a rear differential for some work at a local shop June 6th and I set clear expectations that I wanted it back in time to get it installed for my June 28th dyno day.

June 10th I get a call that parts will take 3-4 weeks to arrive (Side shims and pinion bearings) by a gentlemen named Alex. This is were things started going awry as the parts were available from the dealer within a week. I presumed they were trying to buy time to work on other projects but I let it go.

I call and email them everyday between June 20th-29th to get an update and finally get called back around the 30th, two days after my scheduled dyno day and I'm told that the guy who was working on my diff (Lordan) took personal time off and would be back July 6th. I'm told nobody else is aware of the diff. This is bullshit because the guy who is away did not originally start working on my diff. I ask about the other guy (Alex) and I'm told he has no idea either...

I call July 6th, 7th, but only get a call back on June 8th by Lordan who took time off. He states that the shims are back order. I ask him for the specific part number because as per Nissan EPC, all the shim thicknesses are still available. He says he'll send me the part# in an hour or two. To add insult to injury, he never sends me the part# and the next day when I call, I'm told he's gone for a week to a karting competition. Once again, I'm told nobody can help.

July 17th, Lordan calls back saying that he is waiting for the part# from Alex. I'm surprised to hear this as I was told Alex originally knew nothing about my diff but now he seems to be once again running the show...

July 18th, I asked to speak to Lordan. He's away again this time climbing Mount Everest, or who knows what. Lordan is the owner of the shop and clearly needs to spend more time at said shop. The fun part is I then ask to speak to Alex... I'm told he is no longer employed by them.

Many futile calls later, I get a call back by some new guy on July 21st being told that the shims I need do not have a part number and cannot be ordered. While chuckling I ask wtf does that mean exactly... He states they have to be custom made and that they cannot help me any further. This new guy recommends I bring it to another shop which he names and states they bring their Nissan diffs there when they have issues. First off, not only is that not reassuring at all but the worst part is I know this other shop and I'm convinced they do zero work on Nissans. I hang up right away knowing this is bullshit and call the other shop. I ask them about doing work on a Skyline R200 rear diff.. he states they have never worked on nor will they ever work on Nissan diffs. Absolutely furious I call back and ask wtf is going on. He changes his story at this point and says he only gave me that shop name as an example.... best part is he then asks me when I'll come pick up my disassembled diff. I impolitely ask if he believes it's normal that I dropped off a working diff almost 2 months ago and I'm now expected to pick up a box of diff parts ? He says he'll speak to Lordan.... I'm told 2 hours later that they will make it right and they will have it done by another shop and it will be taken care of.

This ladies and gentlemen is why I do all of my own work. I'm calling tomorrow for an update. If I hear anything other then "It will be ready in a week by the other shop and here's the contact information" and the story matches after I call the other shop, I'll go in person tomorrow night and put an end to this gong show.

    That's so f**ked!!!

Shops just are a damn mess sometimes, all the time.

If time, access and tools are on my side then I do my maintenance myself. Shits so stressful to deal with and I hate the fact that a company, shop etc take me out of my stoicism and make me wanna hulk the f**k out.

Never ending story, at least you have the product, just not how you wanted it.

    I guess it's a near complete win?

Rt lol. its not a total waste of money. I mean its nice. welds are great and I like how they do the shroud.

considering that I told Pete what I wanted in Sept 22 then getting ghosted and having them rush to get it done; i can see how it got missed. In hindsight I shouldve just layed out everything with the fab guy.

Its all good though. I have a friend that can weld some Alu. I'll get it right once I get my vented hood in to ensure the filler fitment is gtg.

I could go breather tank but I hate all the extra hoses.

    You must be fuming.

I don't understand how they're so popular amongst the Skyline scene.

Probably due to Motive most likely.

I'm pretty patient, but this experience has irritated me pretty bad. I wish I was in a position to kick down their door. The fab guys are keeping that business in good standing. Pete and whoever else is in the back office, are failing customers.

  13. So, remember when I assumed the radiator was gonna ship out? turns out it didn't.

When I got told it was packed and ready, I didn't hear back or receive any tracking. I gave it a week and then asked what the holdup was. I was informed that they wanted to re-pack to add more bubble-wrap. At this point they were waiting on the packing material. I then waited 2 weeks before asking was it ready to ship out. Once I did ask, I was assured it was ready and will ship out that day. it's been a week since then and no tracking. I typically get an email from UPS/DHL/FedEx accounts when something ships to my address. I've also checked my USPS account to see if they may have used AU Post to ship and so far, nothing.

I'm super frustrated at this point. Just feels like they took my $2k usd.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that Australia is equivalent to the US. We're physically the same size, but with 10% of the population, and a VERY much more laid back approach to business than the cutthroat US environment. So..... things can take a while. Stock is held....perhaps in a warehouse in Indonesia? Maybe Poland? It'll get here eventually. Then they can send it to you. After smoko.

Yeah I'm aware. I've bought my fair share of things from Aus to know shipments take a bit.

I like to think that Hypertune uses a distributor who has items readily available locally. Maybe not.

It was just convenient that when I asked about it then it was getting packed to ship. Makes be think that I was forgotten about.

Hats off to the fab guy. He has been stand up throughout
