looks can be deceiving
I'd like to see a comparo done with both manifold present other than just looking at pics
the Japanese dont seem to like crap quality stuff check how long its taken for T70's to appear on yahoo and there still no company's flogging them
D-max,Hpi and many others style there out already from what Ive seen

dont think theres any problem with melting pistons as its a fairly hard cut
it feels like some just switched the engine off and I hit mine a number of times before I got a FCD fitted
not really a step forward in terms of lag just more power
got a dyno sheet comparo from a Jap Drift mag with the gtrs and 2540 fitted to a R34 4 door
the 2540 has almost the same curve as the gtrs but gtrs made just under 390ps
compared to the 2540 made 360+ ps
the gtrs only pulled away in the very top end
got the motor s/h through my work so doubt it was running ethanol in Japan
I like to do forgies but will see dont want to over complicate things for the engine builders and it may be asking a bit much
of them to put it together for me

just bought the motor s/h so no idea on how it was running
engine builder said the bores looked ok probably just need a hone
unfortunately a mate cleaned the bottomend before the engine builder had a chance to look at it
but he did the push on the piston left to right thing and you could seen the oil moving around the rings
cant get them put in supposedly unless the compliance shop can source Raw's compliant ones
which mine couldnt
suplier is in Queensland supposedly and hadnt made any yet
there right up the top not like the aftermarket ones they put in and are hard up against the outer door skin
Well just had the V8/truck engine builder from the shop next door tell me he thinks the rings are shot in my motor
due to the amount of oil covering the valves
he said if it was him he would through in a set of rings and bearings and maybe linish(sp) the crank if it needs it
he also didnt like the look of the oil on number 1 valve either
yippee
my bosses business partners are happy to through in above items in for me
just wondering if I should put in a little extra cash for better bearings or rings than standard Nissan items?
Im leaning towards ACl race bearings but Im not sure on the extra cost seeing as were I work will have to foot the bill for the repairs
I would love to go forge bottom end but I dont think the budget will stretch that far and I dont want to complicate this for the guys putting together the motor for
me seeing as they mainly work on commerical vehicles
plans are to skid the motor already have h/g for it one hoping to make 280rwkw out of it but for now standardish power
2530 I had on my rb20 was starting to pull at 3,500rpm full boost 1.2 bar at 4,200
so laggy to some people (me included)
much better off sticking to under 200rwkw imo and going rb25/vg30 turbo

"kit" is still sold in Japan on Yahoo goes for $500+ and Trent tells me some bits that are required are missing
so it ends up being a fair bit more expensive than Greddy plenum

pulling the engine apart today to get the head faced ready for Tomei H/G saw this
I have limited Tech knowledge when it comes to engines and these sorta things
someone told me that the cyclinder may have just not been running right i.e coil pack issue or something
yep pretty much got the cam for free when the boss worked out it wouldnt fit on his 32 25de +T
got a pair of adj cam gears for $20 or something so fig I might as well through one on

Im fitting tomei inlet cam/adj cam gear and tomei 1.5 mm h/g at the same time as the restrictors so I wanna make sure I get it right hence mechanic mate
^ fitting them myself with the help of a qualified mechanic
I figured Highoctane would be in the know

got advised when ordering the restrictors today from highoctane that they wouldnt run them in a 25det vct head
I told them how most of you guys are blocking off the rear feed and running one only up the front
and that my plan was just to run one in each however they still didn't like the idea
I'd really like to hear from anyone who's had them fitted for over 12mths with no dramas
Im fairly sure I'll have no drama's as a mates rb20 does three laps and fills his 600ml catch can over and over again
so seems like theres plenty of flow in the rb's
