What were you trying to do with the red and purple wires? - I twisted them together so the camera knows I'm in reverse gear. The purple wire is the reverse wire, and the red wire is the 12v+ wire. I got told I needed to put them together. Your ground will develop surface rust pretty quickly but it won't stop it working. You will need to mount your ground properly but I assume you are still testing for now. Simply run a self tapper into that steel dashboard support and put an eyelet to suit on the ground - with this, should I put some primer on the exposed parts? I was trying to solder my connection on that part before but was unable to. So might look for an easier place to ground it.

Hi all, so I tried to install my new pioneer reverse camera into my head unit which is also pioneer and as per the photos, I used twisted the red wire (which is the 12 volt one) with the purple reverse wire where I snipped off the metal end and wrapped some tape around both wires before soldering it to see if I could get a signal, I also got some sand paper and scratched a metal part behind the head unit and just put some tape over it so it grounds before soldering it, but it isn't showing any signal. Where did I go wrong? Worth noting, the purple wire looks like copper and the red wire looks like just regular metal? In the photo you can also see the yellow and brown rca connected and on the tag it says "rear review camera in" which I joined together and connected one end on the back of the head unit. One small question, that metal part where the black wire is sitting, will that rust because it's bare metal now?

Oh yep just checked and it says that. So looks like according to Fair Trading a written receipt is proof that I'm the owner of the car.

I found out for the PPSR stuff, that finance companies don't need to list the finance on the security register so there's the risk you could buy a car that doesn't have the finance listed lol.

Ah ok I'll need to double check that but either way, I believe that's the right paper for the paperwork.

I just noticed I have multi rego papers, does it matter which one the seller gives or has to be the latest one?

Ah ok, so they stole the original paperwork that was with the car. I thought the rego paper shows the name of the seller? I can see for my car it shows my details, address etc.

I was doing some research and seems like a bank cheque would be better than me paying them cash upfront then doing the paperwork incase they run off? lol.

Hey all, I had a bit of a silly question. I am getting closer to buying my car, and was wondering to make sure the owner is the owner of the car I just need to check the rego paper right? Also how does it work if 2 family members have the same first and last name? I've worked in a job where that was common. I guess I would check signature of driving license and one that the owner signed on the rego paper? Also wondering if it's worth doing a written statement as well that they sold me the car and taking a picture of their driver license on the paper along with mine. I think I've covered everything?

I did on my driveway should be straight. I got some photos here: With picture 3, I might have held it upside down so keep that in mind but generally it's showing as image 1-2, and you can see some red fluid towards the full line.

I let my Subaru impreza 2.0 ltr automatic 2001 sedan get to operating temperature (or I shouldn't be using this as a measure for the tranny?) and it was idling and was showing transmission fluid is low (apparently wasn't running for long enough), there are no leaks and when I drove it to the shop which took about 10 minutes or less, I checked a few times and the level seemed fine, but when I got home it was low. Seems like the reading is constantly different, I checked on another car I have at home and similar story. I also put the car in neutral and hand break up. Any ideas?

Do you mind if I asked, who you insured with? All the big guys like NRMA, Alliance, etc have the EXACT same car value estimate system, it's like they just borrowed it from each other lol. Apprently a silvia is worth 13k or so. Muppets.

I tried shannons a while back and they are complete rip off, wanted a few thousand dollars to insure a silvia s15 turbo. Unless i get 3rd party but not worth it probably for a 30k+ car if its NA silvia for example

Just wondering, if they are with a different bank, it might take a few days for money to go to their account, do they usually want to wait until that money is in their account or does the bank just give them a receipt? Also with the papers, correct me if I'm wrong but there is only 1 paper they need to give me which is the rego paper?

Ah thought it might be the purple one so you're selling the silver one to? I love r33's with the gtr spoiler, the silver one looks sexy. The purple would probs look even better if it had it + the gtr front bumper
