  1. Fun isnt it!! I sat in the car while one of the guys pulled apart half the dash to get mine out. The cdplayer and tape deck combo have now been sent off to clarion to see if there is any hope in hell of repairing the deadly "cd error f0" code i have. Dont like my chances as everything ive read shows up with it being kaput. Sorry for the hijack, just reminded me of what my car looked like about a month ago! Laine
  2. Bump Still for sale at $11.5K ono Had a few bites but no takers yet. Still waiting on a couple of replies but until then its still on the market!
  3. Hi All, Inspection has been done and there are no problems with the car. Only points noted by the mechanic were a loose banjo bolt on the turbo which he did up and a small oil leak coming from the rocker cover. He tightened up the rocker cover bolts also and said they were a tad loose, so it should be sorted now. Other than that he said all around the car was in excellent mechanical condition. He also said he is more than happy to chat to anyone independently about the car if they wish to. I can supply his number if anyone is interested. Cheers Laine
  4. Price now $11500 In reply to the above comments, the coil overs are not leaking, the visible oil on them is actually spray on grease which I was told to apply by my mechanic. The suspension is racing suspension and is therefore inherently squeaky and creaky. The grease helps to reduce some of the noise it makes. Not trying to name drop but I was told this by Colin Osborne’s Race Engineer for the Australian Production Car Championship so I believe I'm telling a reasonable amount of truth!! As for oil leaks, yes the area in question looks dirty and greasy however in the time I have had the car it has never consumed oil at any noticeably excessive rate and I have had it serviced at approx 6 month intervals. I have used it as a daily driver, with no problems and have even done a few long trips in it (i.e. Canberra --> Hobart, Adelaide --> Melbourne, Wagga --> Adelaide). The car is being fully inspected next week so I will have a mechanics report available to show anyone interested. This car has been well looked after since arriving in Aus and I’m definitely going to be sad to see her go. That said I would rather keep her than let it go for a steal. I’m under no illusion it’s not perfect hence the price and the negotiable bit. If anyone else thinks I'm crazy for asking this price, feel free to let me know, but do so via PM rather than publicly. Regards Laine
  5. Still for sale everyone and im back from holidays now so i can show anyone who's interested. Cheers Laine
  6. Sounds like the problem that occurs if you change an 89 model gts-t turbo for a later one, or even an RB25 (like i did ). Probelm is that the banjo bolts are about 2mm dia different with a head size of 24mm instead of 22mm (hex head not thread). Easiest fix i can think of is to purhcase an set of RB25 turbo water lins from a wrecker. Youre probably looking at around $80-100 depending on availability and who's selling them.

  13. I agree, top idea!! I was thinking the same myself but im laking in mates who are fluent in japanese.... I would have settled with the stick on label maker option. As for hi-res image ill let you know tomorrow when i find out if im getting a V35
  14. Yeh i know, bought one off you on Saturday Needed two though and didnt realise, whoops. Might be around tomorrow though to pick one up!
  15. Hi All, As the topic says im in dire need of an RB25 turbo coolant line, the one that attached to the turbo, closest to the engine block and manifold. Im in the middle of fitting the turbo to my car and didnt realise i had only the coolant line that runs from the outermost side of the turbo and not the second line. If anyone has one lying around im looking to get hold of it today if possible, so PM me and if i will come round and pick it up today!! Ill be checking my inbox fairly regularly in the next day or so to make sure i dont miss anyone. Cheers Laine
  16. Check, already got that one sussed!! Thanks anyway
  17. Ouch thats nasty!!! Yeh i think the RB20/RB25 turbo swap tutorial on project32.net goes through the need for the weld in nipple on the intake pipe for the actuator. Havent fully read through it in detail yet but i will get to that as soon as i have time. Movin house currently!
  18. Yeh, i have the turbo to exhaust manifold gasket already. Got it from a nissan dealer a while back for about $30 brand new. But im just in need of the elbow piece so i will be making some calls tomorrow!!
  19. Yeh i will let you know if i do end up going that way. Since i posted it last nite i have had some valuable advice passed my way, and lets say for the sake of $300 or so labor, i could do it myself!!! Not sure at the moment ill see how i go and if i get time most of all! Cheers Laine
  20. Hi All, Just got hold of a R33 S2 turbo for my R32 Gts-t as the standard one is 186 000km old and starting to head out the exhaust!!! I have relentlessly pondered the option of replacing the turbo myself, however due to time restraints (i need the car working, and working well in 3 weeks time), an extreme lack of tools and work area at the moment i am succumbing to the idea of taking it to a workshop to get it done. I have considered Boostworx, but due to me living and working in the northern suburbs i would like to go for something more local such as Morpowa. From what ive read in the forum Morpowa seems to have a good reputation so i think the first stop might be to Morpowa. Has anybody got any idea what i should be paying for this to be done? Or would i be better off just buying the tools and dealing with the process myself? And just to add to this i have the tutorial done by Gordon at project32.net so i could theoretically do it, with lots of swearing and grazed knuckles Cheers Laine EDIT: I also need and R33 elbow, anyone able to help??

  22. Hi All, I just wanted to know who has had their RB20 turbos last much longer than 180000km? Mine makes a nice screaming noise when it is cold which disappears at the oil temp rises and everything heats up and expands to fill the gaps. I think its nearing time to do something I have been contemplating for some time, replace my standard RB20 turbo. After inspecting it a bit today I found that it has about 1mm front to back shaft play which im pretty sure means its not too healthy, right? It doesn’t shift side to side, which is good! The attached picture shows the compressor wheel, which is a little bit rough and worn as you can see! I was looking to get some advice as to what to replace the old girl with. I am only looking at the following options: RB25 Turbo GT25 or GT30 similar to the ones found here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=178689 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...hl=garrett+GT30 I use the car as a daily driver and am not after any huge amount of power, although having the potential for more is what makes the GT series turbos a bit more appealing. I suppose I am leaning towards the RB25 turbo but there are not too many available in my area (Adelaide) at the moment. Also in a months time I will be driving the car from Adelaide to Melbourne to Wagga to Adelaide so im a bit concerned about the possibility of the turbo crapping itself before I get home! Current car specs are: RB20DET (standard) Hybrid FMIC Aftermarket exhaust – turbo back (was told HKS but im pretty sure it isn’t) Apexi Air Pod ARC BOV HKS EVC III Any advice appreciated Laine
