I thought that the "two ton pussy" was not allowed back as we don't qualify for legends status because we have competed in the past 10 years, although I would have thought that as this is our 18th Targa we must be getting close to legends by now. 14 years since it ran and we still get asked at most stages every year..... where is the "Two Ton Pussy" and yes it is very dusty

Sorry if I sounded a bit negative about day two stages I was very tired after a long day at the track (I'm old remember) It was all a bit of a shock in the dark and running out of fuel Maybe it will look better after a second drive with pace notes in hand I think that the dangerous bits on day one will need tape along the road edges to find where a car has gone off it's a very very long drop into that valley Anyone else been through there yet??

I drove through a lot of the stages yesterday, after a days racing at Winton in the R35, My car is a total mess after more than 25 kms of muddy dirt roads between stages Don't think I'll both doing it after seeing the state of the roads Day one is OK, just a bit dangerous in places, good roads thou. Day two is just remote wilderness Makes Arrowsmith look like suburbia

And to think that I was crying when they increased may premium last year from $1254 to $1500 They also increased the excess to $1200 Pays to get one early before the insurance knew what the car was. I still have all 12 points so that makes a difference

best speed I've seen in the R35 is 252k just before turn 1 maybe you guys could watch the speedo then

A very very good thought out explation for all to understand For those that think that a derived time is a good option my derived time on Tarraleah was 2:19 (3rd slowest time) much slower than if I had caught the sweep car and driven the stage The last day cost me about 6 minutes and maybe a win 48 people stood on the podium with their trophy plates at the finsh on Sunday night, 46 of us handed them back to the officals as requiried. Two didn't. I think you should do the right thing and send them back Snowy As Stu said their 'tainted"

Guys lets remember that Targa is the greatest event of it's kind on earth The people running this event put their heart and soul all year to create a smooth running amazing event They also publish a set of rules for the event for us to read and abide by The 999 rule I believe has been there since the first Targa many people have used it to their advantage in the past so this year Targa imposed a one minute penalty each time you use it The year we were third in prologue, it wasn't long before Jim and Quinnie passed us on the longer stages making us the last car in the field so if we had stopped for a quick wee the 999 car could have passed us and reopened the road, and not allowed us to run the next stages till we caught up again this is why derived times are necessary but you get a large time penalty if you have to used it The whole event this year from an organizational point of view was by far the best yet Most of you will never know how difficult it was in the early days to try to set up the results from such remote areas. We only had one wrong score this year, which turned out to be a typo error, and was promptly corrected once the tape was checked by HQ. It was the most successful results ever in our opinion. The Champagne Shower is straight after the finish, before scrutineering. Competitors then hand back the Trophies so they can be re-presented after Scrutineering, at the Presentation Dinner. Competitors are not allowered to take the Trophy till the car passes Scrutineering. (So if any one sees a couple of first place EM trophies floating around Melbourne, they belong to the real winners.) Nerida Beable Co driver Car 831 P S For a 65 year old, my husband is an amazing and safe driver. I'm lucky to have sat beside him for the past 18 years.

Hate to disagree with you Ben but the timing this year was the best yet We only had one mistake of a minute which was quickly fixed This was caused by human error not the system Jeff

If you check the times at the Maserati web site to shows that, John was 1.87 sec. quicker than the 35 on the normal circuit, I couldn't get 35 to launch at all. My best was a 37.01 On the figure 8 circuit the difference between the cars was only 1.33 On the 3 last runs of the day the difference between our times was 1.37, 1.31, 1.33 all less than .06 of a second apart. Johns car is very very quick, a standerd R35 is no match for it on a small tight circuit. besides at 65 I'm allowed to slow up a bit
