My point exactly, so if the claims given by the driver on that day are correct there should'nt be a problem.. I have found that on a wet track my times are at least 10 seconds slower than my best, but that's probably due to my lack of experience aswell... I guess it comes down to how wet the track was, standing water or light sprinkle. Either way it should be at the pointy end of the field, going by the times it is punching out lately... So Russ, the R34 is definetly out for this event???

Doing 1:44's at EC on a wet track, I'd say it would make giant's 32 look slow in the dry... Can't wait to see it at Superlap, providing they have the right driver for it... So is there a tipping comp for the top ten in the clubman class?? Be good to see some interstaters in the top ten... And I'd say BEL EVO for 1st in open class, especially if its raining...

So looks like the BEL EVO is a serious contender, chasing 1:13's??? Fark that's fast. Must have gone on a serious diet. How does the Lotus compare to the EVO in regards to these times Bozman??

Dude if your buying a $50k+ car (assuming your buying an R34GTR), you should be able to take it where ever you like to get it inspected, and if GTA are willing to sell decent cars it should not be a problem. If they don't want you to take your car to Racepace for an inspection then I'd be concerned. They shouldn't give you an option, be firm and take it wherever YOU want. PM Jamezilla, he can tell you a thing or 2 about GTA....

I think you'll find that the current Carrera Cup cars are doing v8 supercar times, so at least 5-6 secs faster than the Beemer...

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering: 1. What model M3, E30, E36, E46? 2. Are these road registered cars? Or track/race cars only? 3. What do they weigh? 4. Do they have full roll cages, with stripped interiors? 5. What tyres do they run? Semi's or full slicks? Size? 6. What size wheels do they run? 7. Power? 240rwkws? 8. Brakes? 9. Am I asking too many questions? And lastly which track days do these cars come out? Any links to times on Natsoft?? Cheers and thanx in advance!!!!!

I'm sure your a nice bloke too... I'm not implying that 2530's are a crap turbo, I'm saying that from my experiences mainly information that I gather from a workshop here in Melbourne that works mainly on GTR's is that the -5's are superior in how they make the power, they are more responsive than the 2530's but don't make as much top end. This workshop I'm talking about has done a lot of R&D on GTR's and what makes them go fast for mainly street and circuit, so response and low end power is the focus, so why the -5's are used and not the 2530's... Anyway, I guess people will eventually work out whats the best turbo setup for their car, it sometimes takes 2 or 3 goes.. well it did for me!!!!

Totally agree, just beacause of the calibre of cars (and driver) should not deter possible competitors, its all about having a go and enjoying the event. Yeah sure there will be some competitiveness but that never hurt anybody?!?! I say have a go and be part of a fast growing form of Motorsport here in OZ... And Bozman1, stop setting the bar so high, hacks like me who have never done a lap of OP have no chance against 'professionals' like you...

Do you seriously think comparing the results in the sticky thread is a fair and accurate comparison?? Very far from it, as djr81 pointed out how can you compare with different cars with different boltons with different dynos with different tuners??? BoostdR has a comparison with his 2530's and -5's, using the same engine and the same dyno, I'm sure his results speak for themselves.. And there is no mention of the GTSS's in my previous response so I was not including them in my comparison.. And why does the Mines car have so much response and revs so quickly in the infamous vid of it getting around that tight little gokart track??? Maybe the answer has nothing to do with what's in the engine bay...

The 2860-5's are the best value for money and make the 2530's look quite silly as far as response and mid range power. The 2530 is still a great turbo to make big power, but just don't have the ability that the -5's do in response/low-mid range power. I would prefer to have a car with better average power than a car with big top end power, but hey that's just me.. And the comment 'HKS turbos are better than the Garret turbos' is a bit far fetched. I guess if you rely on these forums to make a decision then I can see where your coming from. There are so many other cases that I know of that is not reported to the rb26 sticky thread that could probably change your mind... This is my opinion....
