Transplanting the vvt from a 25neo into an rb26?
-
Currently at 380rwkw with 2860 -5's & b cams on e85, trying to make it have a bit more torque/usable power down low. Ive googled the v cams and most sites say discontinued, is there anywhere you can still get them?
-
Not sure if any of the original members are still around, but what are your thoughts on the v cams after all this time and sorting out any installation issues, worth spending the $ on?

Exhaust silencers/varex exhausts
PotatoCake replied to PotatoCake's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Went down and had a chat with him yesterday, nice guy. Will be getting a full custom hard pipe intakes setup done next week! Exhaust, im still figuring out what path to go down. Some are saying the varex's hang too low because of the valve it has at the top -

What are your thoughts on this after having it for a while, worth getting? -
Trying to find some brake pads for the oem brembo's but every site i use shows a different measurement. Would anyone be able to confirm what the actual specs are or which pads to get? Showing front pads just to keep things simple: DBA has 2 options: length width thickness 119.3 x 71.1 x 14 119.8 x 73.7 x 13.7 https://dba.com.au/product/front-street-series-brake-pads-db1170ss/ https://dba.com.au/product/front-street-series-brake-pads-db1520ss/ Bendix's site says 120mm x 74mm x 14mm (Length x Width x Thickness) https://www.bendix.com.au/catalogue/nissan/skyline/2-6-twin-turbo-4x4-r33/nissan-skyline-2-6-twin-turbo-r33-2-6l-206kw-awd-coupe-1994-1999?filter=Brake Pad Set&alternative=Std. 4-Wheel Disc#DB1520 And super cheap auto's system showed them as 76.6 x 65.6 x 13 Very confusing.

I feel like i would be like most people who get these, excited for the first 3-6 months and then just totally forget about it. The end products do look sick tho. Ive got a 1/12 scale r32 model, dunno where im gonna actually display it once its all done!

Yeh nice, looks like their part of keep it reet? Will have to swing past. I'd much prefer someone actually look at my car and custom make a part, then get a generic part online and hope it works. -

This is my main problem i suppose, u just cant beat the note of the rb26, and i dont really want to lose that. Are there any other options besides the varex exhausts then? -

Coming home late at night and driving past the police is the only reason i need one haha And yeh, definitley needs a switch to quickly enable it, dont have time to be getting my phone, opening an app, waiting for it to update etc before being able to make the change -
After an excellent condition, working! oem radio for a 97 r33 And the steering wheel shroud/cover as mines a little bit scratched up Am in Melbourne

So my exhaust is loud and sounds awesome (good thing) but also is very loud when coming and going, dont want to piss off the neighours etc Are the varex adjustable mufflers any good? I contacted them but they dont make r33 specific exhausts Ive also see the adjustable inlets on this site but apparently they might restrict airflow too much which wouldnt be good for the engine. Would prefer something thats adjustable from in cabin so i can change it on the fly, dont really want to put in one of those permanent exhaust tip things. Any other recommendations would be appreciated!

Doing a refresh of my 33 and can see a few websites stating they sell the entire main carpet for our cars, but they all have generic photos which is fine, i understand they are custom made to order. Just seeing if anyone has got it done or had any experience with this, as i would only want to do it if the fit and finish was as good as oem https://carmatsdirect.com.au/products/moulded-carpet-or-vinyl-for-nissan-skyline-r33-1993-1998-coupe https://knoxautocarpets.com.au/moulded-carpets/nissan/skyline/skyline-r-33-1993-1998/
