Have you considered an R33 GTS-t sedan? 4 doors, good room in back seat, good boot. It's just as quick as a coupe but looks a bit different to all the other Skylines on the road! Also, you might even get cheaper insurance than you would with a coupe.

Stock CD player R33 gts-t double din
sven laptop replied to RON-15H's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
RON, does it all work? How long has it been out of your car? Any other details I should know before I make an offer? Cheers - Sven -
I warned you about him yesterday. He insists on the tamper-proof rivets & gets pi**ed off if other testers pass a car that doesn't have them. The rule is a new one based on the fact that some peop[le were getting one car complied, then taking its compliance plate off & sticking it on other cars to get them registered without being complied first. it's a sensible rule, but if they're going to enforce it they should help you find someone who can actually supply & fit the right ones!

That's hilarious. I have no idea what it means but it's very very funny!

How tall are you guys with R33 GTS-T's?
sven laptop replied to a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
A yard is an average man's stride (allegedly). I think a mile is the distance an average man can run with a burning, rolled-up newspaper sticking out his arse before he suffers 3rd degree burns to his sphincter. I use metric for everything, except height.......dunno why! -
I wouldn't go past $500, including about $60 for fitting in that price, so basically a unit costing up to about $450.

I'm 6 foot 3 & fit fine into my R33 series 1 sedan (4-door). But I tried sitting in an identical model that had a sunroof & it was too much of a squeeze. I'd say go for it, but don't get one with a sunroof. -
I had dramas there. They refused it first time 'coz they said the compliance plate was stuck on with the wrong rivets. They said I needed "tamper-proof rivets", but no-one I spoke to had heard of them. Anyway, I went back the next week & got a different guy who passed it no probs. However, the older bloke with the beard is really tough on this, so if you get him you're stuffed! I now know Carizma in Richmond use these rivets when they're doing compliance, but it's such a small job they might not bother with doing it for you. Good luck cobber!

G'day. After a couple of months of trying to get my CD stacker to work (the Jap one that came with the car & is missing a cartridge), I've decided to bite the bullet & get a new stereo. I don't want to win any competitions & I don't care whether I have the latest, greatest sound system. I just want a good quality mid-range CD player & radio in the car, playing through the existing speakers. SO, do any of you guys know how I go about working out which systems are best value? Does anyone have recommendations of single DIN CD/radios? Any advice would be welcome. Cheers - Sven

Thanks SillyFlyFresh. I went to the JustJap website, found an email address, contacted Darron & he got back to me within 24 hours saying he had 2nd hand examples of most of the badges I need. The prices don't look too bad either, but of course cheaper is always better. He even gave details (& price) for overnight post to Melbourne. Good service so far!

I don't know where you get one from, but my 93 model R33 arrived from Japan with a single DIN unit & a handy compartment under it with a lift-up door. I imagine most car audio places could find you something similar.

Thanks Alex. Just to make the situation even sweeter, it appears the boot badge (just a crummy old Nissan logo) only comes with the boot lock and costs $190!!!!!!! Then there are the other badges. As they say in NZ ......... bugger!

I'd also be interested.

I need these too (same deal - all prized off with a screwdriver last Friday while I was at work). I need all except the GT badges, but I would take them too if they only come as a full set. Hope someone can help. Hoo-roo

I've got the set that were on my R33 when it arrived from Japan a month or 2 ago. Sorry I don't have the details on me, but let me know if you're interested.

Just to make you feel a lot better about the way our cars are being treated, all my badges were ripped off the other day by some lowlife with screwdriver, leaving nice big scrapes in their place! If you get this lynch-mob together can we go after badge thieves once we've found out who's ripping off GTRs?

If you bought it with a warranty then don't service it now at your own expense. Ring them & tell them what's happened & that you'll bring it in after your exams. Meanwhile, concentrate on school & get that out of the way. Good luck (& don't trust dodgy car yards, no matter how "nice" the salesman seems).

How can I stop people fooling my car

It wasn't snowing there was it???????????????? -
Holden actually does a fair bit of suspension tuning on most of the cars that come from Opel, particularly the vectra, to make them handle more the way we like them. Several reviewers bagged the new Vectra's handling when it came out in Europe, but say it's a totally different beast here. Dunno specifically about the Astra SRi turbo, but I wouldn't mind a fang in one.

PM me your details & we'll go from there. -
Does it absolutely have to be series II? Also, are you looking for coupe or sedan or doesn't it matter?

I have a '93 model R33 GTS-t 4 door 5-speed if you're interested. I imported it myself. It has 71,000km on the clock, is 99% standard (just ricey metal pedals & a CD stacker) & runs beautifully. I know you're looking for an R32, not R33, but let me know if you're interested & we can talk prices.
-
JNR24, I don't know if mine is an OEM unit, but I doubt it. It looks to me like in was an aftermarket job in Japan. But the stacker clearly has "Sanyo Excedio" written on it. If you do have the same system, or a similar one that has a compatible cartridge, then I'd be interested. Please let me know. ylwgtr2, if you find you do have the right one then I will definitely take it off your hands. Thanks for letting me know. In the meantime, if you stumble across a crtridge for a CDF-C6F somewhere in Yokohama, then buy it & I'll fix you up on your return. Thanks everyone who's offered help.

That's right. The compliers can't pass a car unless it's bog standard & they can prove that any mods have been removed & destroyed. So they can't even sell the parts they take off. Also, it means the customer has to pay for genuine parts to be fitted in place of anything that had been modified.

My car arrived from Japan minus the cartridge in the CD stacker. Without it the whole CD system is useless. So I'm looking for a CD cartridge for the following: SANYO CDF-C6F (10 stacker). This unit was not sold in Australia & maybe was only sold in Japan. it's no longer being made. Can anyone please help?????
