I'd like to keep third gear and the bottom end in one piece for at least a few months -

Well she's 99% complete with everything I'm comfortable doing... I re routed the wiring to the wheel well to avoid any potential heat issues... Leaving the mechanic to do all the turbo and wastegate lines... My battery fell off the shelf somehow and damaged a terminal so now I got to spend more money ๐, anyone got recommendations or hookups for a battery similar to the Optima in the same configuration? -

I should clarify, haha I am a welder by trade and have been in the industry all my working life (20 odd years) but I've been off the tools full time since the mid 2000's.. Just in case anyone reads this and thinks I've just picked up a welder and managed to pull these out my ass ๐ -

ended up buying a $2 12mm spanner and cutting it up, did the trick but still rather annoying -

Bought myself a new toy for xmas / birthday. Evo V RSII. Paid way too much for it but with any luck it certainly should never go down in value, given it's an RS it's quite rare and in surprisingly good nick. -

Finished the cooler piping, considering I've never really welded ally tube i was pleasantly surprised with the final results... Still decided to paint anyway as I'm going for an all black and grey engine bay... -

This is why i ended up going the Artec manifold and everything V-Band... Hopefully the runner design and external gate positioning with the Artec manifold negates the need for twin scroll etc... We'll see... Given I've gone the smaller G30 but biggest available (over the G35) anyway i don't feel response is going to be my issue, if anything we'll be pulling out timing in the mid range to preserve my third gear ๐ -

All going to plan I should have some results later this month, early next month... The Artec manifold is a very nice piece of kit, though I went the titanium stud kit at the same time and the lower two forward nuts are impossible to do up with a conventional socket or ring spanner so it has it's flaws. Like with much of the PRP stuff etc. you don't hear much about the cons of their products, only people flaunting the pros... I bought a cheap 12mm ring spanner today to modify which will hopefully allow me to get them done up tight... -

Even the flange doesn't appear the right size for the G30, let alone the threaded fitting they supplied doesn't suit the 26 block ๐คจ -

progressing pretty well. picking up the ally tomorrow to have a crack at the cooler piping.. getting slowly better at SS the more I do (still bugger all in the scheme of things...) but ally is far more foreign... for me... looks like the G series garrets have a spot in the front compressor housing so no need to add a boost reference in the cooler piping?!? -
i was gobsmacked when i bought all my gear on the black Friday sales that everything was actually in stock...
-
can only assume stock issues but if selling at a premium should only use premium parts....... just my 2c anyway

Bloody Black Friday sales got me, haha. In stock and cheap...ish

wasn't aware of the different sized stud kits ๐ These are from EFI Solutions... Ye the clearance so far seems pretty good, tis a 32 GTR... Fabbing dump pipe etc. now... I'm only running a conventional Turbosmart external gate... Was hoping I'd get away with not having to move the Power Steering Reservoir but that was probably a tad naรฏve of me
