Hey Paul, I picked up the CB's from Dickies today. Was a little more expensive unit but I talked him down a little. $140 ok?

Carbon overlay on fibreglass isn't too difficult but you have to use the right epoxy resin and make sure that the curves are subtle. Complex curves require a vacuum pump. Check out the carbon thread on the fibreglassforums.com. You can also check out my carbon lip build thread. I'm self taught too thanks to some work my dad taught me and those forums.

This place has timing too so you can see your lap times. Maybe we need to have a nice little friendly challenge! This is UBER UBER cheap for karting folks!

Yup, Ran all day at Texi ok then on the way to dinner my spark issue returned and has been there ever since. So CDI to obliterate all spark issues! Hope it's ready for the Drag Day. Here is the CB I'm looking at. It's a 2W unit so should be 4x more powerful than my .5 W POS. They sell a twin set for $250 or a Single for $150. Twin Set Single Set If you are ok with it then I'll go pick up a twin set. You can have the battery charger/doc cause I have lots of battery chargers.

Yeah, thanks Stevo. That Route looks good. I'll try to do a google map, directions and some research on a good lunch snack in Albury. I'm a morning person so suits me just fine - as long as I have my coffee. Anybody else interested in getting a decent CB radio so we can chit chat on the way?

Well since interest is waining, I'm converting this into a road trip convoy. It will be open to all that are going to the Nationals from NSW. We will set a meet up point for the convoy to from Sydney to meet up with the Canberra folks that are going. Pat, can you recommend a good meet up spot? Maybe that's what we do - create a convoy picking up cars as we head down! VERY COOL!

Might be cool to all stay at the same place if we can book in early enough. So I'm going to put the full on production idea on hold so let's just do a drive down on Friday morning. A few folks said it is about 7.5-8 hrs straight through so we can plan to leave early enough to beat the traffic and head out. I'll just mount a couple of cameras to my car but most only last about 2 hrs of filming anyways. Maybe we can use the club go pro's to get people to do a little "talk to the camera" while driving down. Plan: Drive down Friday 28th - plan on only fuel/bladder stops and some place for lunch Sat & Sun SAU Natonals Mon drive back (optional if people want to road trip)
