Great comments guys, thanks I wanted to build mid last year, but my partner wasnt too keen...now he's kicking himself! Builders (as far as I've been told over the past year) have a price increase of around 1-4% at the end of each month. So waiting one month could even cost you another $5k. I could only look at spending around 160k on a one storey. About another 60k will get another storey ontop Has anyone or is anyone building from scratch? (Not buying off the plan with a specific builder) From plan designs to council approvals to brickies to tilers etc?
-
Yeah, I've heard nothing but positive comments about Ross North. I really wanted to build with them, but for their prices I can almost get a 2 storey with in-vogue. GWP021- what do you mean by project builder?

I'm looking into building a house...Yippeee. Im just wandering if anyone has any advice and/or negative or positive comments in regards to builders in WA? So far it's been suggested to stay away from Homebuyers Centre, Scott Park and Commodore Homes. Thanks in advance

Wtf...is tax really that much for people working 2 jobs?! Obviously if someone wants to work 2 jobs it's because they need more cash, not to fund the doll bludgers and govt head pay rises! > I'll look into it...otherwise its the mines for me. Mitchy- Well done, what a score! Wish it was that easy for me.

No problem mitchy Thanks Liz, that's a great suggestion! I always mention it to friends and hadn't even considered it for myself. Off goes the resume. Do they have an aftermarket parts section? hahaha speaking of cars, could even try supercheap.

Thanks guys Have applied for nightfill posis which is ideal, but I can't sit around waiting for their phone call. (I don't think dominos would even cover the untuned fuel guzzling silvia im borrowing at mo! lol)

Not sure, depends on what type of paint it is. Best to check with the duded who mixed it for you With cans of enamel it's 1-2 coats and acrylic is like 2-20 or 40 if you wanted.
-
I'm not too experienced with air pressure guns so i can't offer too much advice... I don't think you'll have much drama because its only the front bar, it usually needs to be mixed quite often to keep the flakes from settling on the bottom of the bottle. Metallics/pearl have a tendancy to "bounce" back. Ive heard its best to apply the paint on an angle (keep gun upright, but spray a little bit sideways if you get what i mean) and this should reduce the bounce. Also you should avoid doing little bits and going back and forth. It's better to do one full stroke and cover from end to end. The old boy at the car paint place in vic park is pretty helpful, prob just ring him if you wanted.
-
Hey steve, you def gotta get it mixed by a specialist because of the pearls. Im guessing you went to the car paint centre? vic park or balcatta. Those guys are good, i sell automotive paint but its premixed into spray cans and imported from germany...plus getting it matched by specialist means it will be matched to date because paint fades. Also be aware with metallic/pearled paint it's alot harder to apply than a flat colour!

Hiyas, I work full time week days and am looking for another job either after 6.30pm weeknights or anytime on weekends. Does anyone know of anything available, preferably nor? Thanks

HBF do insure imports. I had comprehensive on a stock 32. With my new 32 (lots of mods) I left HBF for Just Car which is more expensive and has a higher excess. Stupido. I called HBF to get a quote for the highly modded 32 and got quoted a cheaper amount (than the stock32), i didnt need to list all mods and she assured me they would all be covered?! Past experience- Insurance Call Person: "no we dont insure imports" Me: "but you insure my friends import vehicle" Insurance Call Person: "they must have gone through a broker then" Me: "no they organised it themselves" Insurance Call Person: "sorry, we dont insure imports" Me: "can you check with your supervisor or may I speak with them" Insurance Call Person: "just one moment...are you there miss, i do apologise we can insure your imported vehicle" (had this sort of conversation with two companies...strange)
