  1. Thread revival! Just wanted to update you guys, incase you havent read. Basically my parts went POP! and they were under warranty. PSU and motherboard went. The store i got them from were they were under warranty would not exchange them instead they wanted to run a "diagnostic report" for $95. Of course i thought that dont sound right otherwise they could charge $500 if they want and make money out of parts that should be under warranty. Well good news is consumer affairs feel the same way, they called them and told them that "it's not on!" so i got a phone call from the manager of the store who i dealt with twice and even advised him its not correct and that i was going to consumer affairs. the convo went like this: manager: Hello Daniel Me: Hello Manager: yes its Jason from XXXX here i have received a call and i wasnt aware of the full situation. You see the man who was looking after it went on holidays not realising it was under warranty. Me: So Jason, both our conversations that we had where i specifically explained to you the situation meant nothing? Manager: Oh, i got confused. Me: OK well how can i help you., Manager: Well i can give you a $95 credit. Me: Absolutely not, please hold whilst i call back consumer affairs and I discuss this further with them Manager: Oh, ahhh before you do would a refund be better? Me: As advised by consumer affairs that is what you have been requested to do. Manager: ok give me your details and i will organise refund. Details given. A win for the little guy! The dissapointing thing is though, that even till the end he wanted to get out of paying me, even when advised to. instead he went the credit route. I guess being a manager myself I cant blame him for thinking of the business but i could never do the dodgy on a customer who has bought over $6000 worth of items from me.
  2. Just thought whilst scouring the forums i could assist. always happy to help (time forbidding) Trozzle, "suppine rows" is the term for a pull up underneath the bar. The wider your grip the more of your lats are at play. so in reverse could assist somewhat in your DB chest press. Not to go over old territory but just observing your deadlift. Also try adding a slight shrug at the top, extra muscle usage cant hurt. When keeping your eyesight aimed directly in front of you whilst taking the wait off the ground you will notice your traps activating automatically, further to this, adding the shrug when locking your back in can also assist. Weightlifting and wanting to add on extra size is all about those little bit extras. gtst - inverted row is similar to suppine row, to add a little extra on there for you, place a fitball under your feet for more core activation and whack a 20 kilo plate on your stomach (watch out for the crown jewels though if so) Last but not least. with the inverted/suppine rows. Use the Smith machine bar. You can lock in much easier on the bar, plus if you were to superset you can bring the bar down if fatigue sets in to lower the length of your reps. (hope that makes sense) *I havent read your whole thread and have no idea on your injuries, body type etc so please dont take my advice should you foresee any injuries occuring from this* P.s. watch your L2 and L3 in your back with deadlifts on a heavy weight.
  3. yep id be keen to know the difference. I am in the market for a xonar, prob just the DX though which is only about $95
  4. ahahaha, dan you of all people should be at Filex.... bootylicious :-)
  5. No One? no registered PT's on here or managers? Awkward.... feeling lonely on here right now.
  6. Ok, so any fitness profesionals or managers at filex for the business seminars today, tomorrow and the exhibition over the weekend? If you are a PT i think it is worth 16 CEC points from last recollection so might be worth you attending to keep your fitness australia registration current.
  7. I like a bit of chase and status, Nero and to sound commercialized skrillex. Used to go the rap rnb route but the beats get me going a bit more with dance/DNb
  8. What's jash doing these days now then? I bought sly 33 from him. Ahhhh those were the days!
  9. RB20E isnt his nick, that is a ranking so to speak. His/her nick is underneath their avatar.
  10. Even more info on Sunday morning sunrise breakfast show that multi vitamins can shorten your life span. For now I am staying away from them.
  11. P.s if you are starting out I want you to google compound movements. No reason for any advanced movements plymetrics etc. ...... Edit.... Gtst has already mentioned compound and some nice movements. Stick with them for now BUT stay away from deadlift. You will need someone to show you to complete a Romanian deadlift correctly
  12. Edit
  13. Personally not a huge fan of multi vits. Before using them, ask yourself why are you using them? Are you lacking something in your diet? Are you pregnant and need folate ( I am assuming your not ) if you answer no to these then reconsider. Sunrise morning show has a female doctor on there once a week who is continually saying that studies are showing next to no benefits in taking vitamins, in same cases it actually made things worse. I was sick for over 2months and unfortunately could not eat much, this was when I used them as I had no other way of getting vitamins. As soon as I could eat I went back off them.
  14. And an everlast singlet
  15. i understand there may be some benefits associated with no shoes, however, i dont feel it necessary in your everyday fitness first gym etc. people have been deadlifting with shoes on for years! if its good enough for ronnie then its good enough for you: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ronnie+coleman+deadlift+800+lbs&oq=ronnie+coleman+dea&aq=1&aqi=g8&aql=&gs_nf=1&gs_l=youtube.1.1.0l8.735.4549.0.7072.18.18.0.5.5.0.387.1780.7j2j3j1.13.0. *hope that link works* just incase it dont, its ronnie doin his 800 pound deadlift...... IN SHOES! *GASP HORROR* gtst - you are correct a lot of em wearing the converse all stars and a blank no name brand as well. dezz, put it this way, freeweights area, flat bench, dumbell press, 130 kilo overweight patrons walking around with no shoes on with toe jam..... sorry but there has to be some level of hygiene, or are you one of those customers that i have to address not placing a towel on equipment :-) Do you know how expensive it is to get the equipment reupholstered, not cheap! plus the down time of the equipment can also make it annoying for patrons as well.
  16. those vibram five finger shoes are pretty light, definately wasnt them was it? Some people are starting to wear them in my gym, dont know weather or not they will catch on. What is annoying me though is members taking their shoes off to squat/deadlift, not just at the power rack but even with a 20kilo bar in the free weights area. I know there may be some minor benefits but no need for it. .... sorry going off track, just needed to vent :-) might start a new thread on it.
  17. so these are the 900's you are referring to?
  18. I think i am going the 700's will prob pick them up in 2 - 3 weeks as its on the way to visit my bird at the bird boarding place (long story, dont ask) Really looking forward to picking them up, have heard good news though about those 900's but the extra $$$ could get me a good sound card instead....
  19. Just looked at that website but don't ship Asics to oz. what stuff have you bought from them?
  20. where do you boys get your OS hardware from? Newegg doesnt ship to australia so no luck there, anywhere else to shop?
  21. Overseas Group buy anyone?? Give us in the loop Ash as to what you decide regarding flashing etc and value for money. I am stuck somewhat as my centurion case holds my 5870 ok and could hold a 6950 but nothing bigger, it appears that the new 7980 cards are quite large so i would have no luckj fitting it in. I cannot see though the size of the 680 if it is smaller i may have no other choice than to go back to nvidia. Mind you my 5870 is still packing a good punch, but just like Clarkson i want more POWA!!
  22. Nice work winning it in the raffle! Are they sorex 32 tyres your running? There was a shortage in wa for quite sometime. Any reason why you went the Novak gtb?
  23. I think i will go wired and get the audio technica ad700's. So many people on the whirlpool forum recommend these (Nismoid do ya think these will do the trick?) Also am thinking as i still have my plantronics 777 which has the small USB dolby soundcard stick. I could hopefully chack the ad 700s into the plantronic 777 usb jack to give it just a little bit more oomph. Obviously not as good as a full dedicated sound card but am hoping it helps a bit.
  24. Yup saw that when you first started talking about the 555's. Looks to be removal of a piece of foam or something from what i remember..... whatever it was, its amazing that they would even do that? never the less good value for money if it is the case :-) Ok will check out pcccasegear now.
  25. Bwahahahaha how the hell did you remember that! I was trying to remember some of the cheats and recall something along that line.
