  1. hmm all very interesting. I have a 88 cefiro. It has a silver top rb eccs. But i've heard it has a different ecu to a r32, it has a 128 bit ecu as opposed to a 256 in the r32. The plenum and rest of the motor looks identicle to a r32, but i suspect it has a slightly smaller turbo, has it didn't quite pull as hard as a mates r32, and its rated at 150fwkw as opposed to 160 for the r32. Anyway, what i'm keen to find out is how you guys with the early rb20 eccs, like mine, got a tune. Cause can't get a pfc, did you's replace with a wolf or microtech, or just get your ecu flash tuned?
  2. "lol i could throw in a ca18de bet thats never been done in an r32" Well actually they r32 did come with a ca18i, single cam carby. it was the base model, steel wheels, unpainted bumpers and all
  3. I know how you feel mate, mine's been in the panel shop since monday, was promised to me by today, i go in there yesterday and its no where near ready, he hasn't even got the parts he needs. Bloody panel shops. And i need the car by next weekend. Im sick of driving the spoonter <_<
  4. Hey Dave, how was the actual diff action before it went? if it was ok, and like you said the center seems to be in good nick, just get the ring and pinion replaced. Should be r200 diff by the sounds Pretty good effort anyway, these diffs are tough!
  5. From what i can see with insurance, its heavily based on location (post code) Im 23, lost my license once for excessive speed, and to insure a stock cefiro(!) was $3033!!!!! fark, i mean i only live in the second highest location for car theft in australia..... need to find a relative from the country
  6. Seats= r33, r32 Speedo cable= VL commodore! Tie rod ends= r32, r33
  7. I fitted a hybrid r33 kit. Lets just say its not a bolt in! I have a stock front bar, and there was no way i could get it to fit behid completely. Basically i bolted the top mounting holes of the cooler to the underside of the metal bumper support, trimed it to allow more airflow. On the bottom i made two metal straps to go from the lower mounting holes to the underside of the radiator support. The bottom of the cooler is hard up against the rad support, all i had to move was the lower horn, and climate control sensor, also i just bent the aircon lines up out of the way. had to trim all of the 'vent' out of the bar, basically where the number plate used to sit out to the smaller side vents. so the top of the cooler is behind the bar, but the lower half sticks out. I guess it looks ok, but i really wanted the stealth look. As for the piping, i used the stock pipe from the turbo through the inner panel, then two 90 degree bends and a silicon joiner to the cooler, that was the easy side. The pipe that runs accross the front of the motor bends back sightly as it goes down under the battery. I found i had to have it go straight down, so i cut the pipe in 3 sections and made it go straight, also relocate the support tab to go the inlet mainfold (there's a earth point thats good to use) ok if you have access to a welder. Clerance between fan and motor is minimal, i had to trim 3 mm of the corner of the fan, (i notice skylines have the fan shaped like this already, hmmm) Cut out a hole under the battery, and use another two 90 degree bends with a silicone joiner and your done. One other thing that was a pain, the power steering hose fouled the cross over pipe, but with a bit of gentle persuasion it works ok, again skyline hose goes to the same place but doesn't do a 270 degree up-and-over turn first! Also the reason i used 90 degree bends and silicon joiner instead of the 'c' shape hybrid pipes (the one's that come off the cooler) is that the cooler is alot further back in relation to the pipework coming from the engine, therefore the hybrid pipes are too long. So yeah, just thought i'd share my experience
  8. Yeah i was toying with the idea of making jumper leads. Good to hear the coils are the same at least!! thanks alot
  9. for those of you who are tight arses (like me) you dont need a wheel alignment, just count the number of turns when you take the rods ends off, and write it down so you dont forget! on another note, when i bought the car the hicas light didnt come on, then after a while it started to come on occasionly, and after the last track day its been on ever since. Fluid is fine, no leaks. i think i'm due for a lock bar...
  10. Hey Ive been having some problems with my coil packs, and have a mate with some r32 splitfires. Now i know they have different plugs to the cef ones (same as ca18 and red top rb). What i want to know is there any actual differnece in the coil packs apart from the plug. i.e. can i get a hold of a r32 coil pack loom and use the r32 coils. I've compared igniter units they seem to be the same (from the outside anyway haha) any ideas?
  11. Why run a bov? unless your running big boost or a bigger turbs i dont see the point, but hey, what ever tickles your pickle. As for strut braces i'm running a s14 fliped round and it would seem to fit fine, plenty of space behind the crossover pipe.
  12. radius rods same as s13, lower arm also s13 i'm pretty sure

Full whiteline super low suspension package, shocks, springs, adjustable sway bars front and rear, adjustable panhard rod. VX twin pot brake upgrade, with machined hubs, not cast. Turbo booster and 1 inch master cylinder, brader lines, DBA slotted 'kangaroo paw' discs all round, Ferrodo mettalic pads all round. New exedy heavy duty clutch New uni's, engine and gearbox mount New cat back 2 1/2 inch exhaust. Momo steering wheel, sony cd player, amp, two 12 inch subs boxed, jaycar 6x9's in custom shelf. Freshly gassed air con, tinted windows No pwr steer, but i have the pump, rack, and lines needed to fit, just never got around to it. Also comes with spare RB30E motor, its a series two block, so its the same block as the turbo (has holes for the oil lines) Was planning to go rb30et conversion, however, priorities changed and now someone has a chance to buy a vl that is ready for turbo. The car handles unreal, and the brakes are fantasic, better brakes than a VT commodore, with 400kg less weight!!! All mods have had less than 3 months on the car, they are basically all new. Car has a pink slip, and can be sold with or without rego. Asking $3100 with rego, $2500 without Call 0410466635 or pm me can email photos also
  17. Man i can't beleive how cheap some of this insurance is!!! best i could find was $3500 p/a for a 10000 ceffy, and thats with a 1800 excess (just cars), needless to say i just went third party.
  18. Hmmm well i have a set of wheels that as far as i know of are factory cefiro wheels. I've only ever seen them on one other car, and they look nothing like any silvia wheel, they have a large centre cap and are a multispoke design, 15x6. But hey, i may be misinformed if anyone wants to put a pic up, i can email one.
  19. Well i emailed just jap, no response. i think i may have found some through meggala though.
  20. Well, they think its my fault, so its in the hands of my insurance agency now. Here's what happened. intersection of Princes hwy and president ave, there is 2 right hand turn lanes, i was in the left lane tunring right, and the other party was in the right hand lane. They can only turn right, i can go straight or right. I turn in, in my lane, almost get round the turn and boom, t bone in back door. police WOULDN'T attend, even when they weren't goin to give me their details. When they got out of their car, they were speaking to them selves (3 ppl in car) in a different language, then tried to say that i crossed into there lane!! even tho the damage is inconsistent with two cars rubbing around a corner, (which would of happened, had i crossed the line, and they were turning) the insurance ppl wont come and inspect anyway. I cant beleive some ppl!! juat straight out bullshitting anyway, i have a witness, so fingers crossed it should work in my favour sorry bout the ramble
  21. Thanlks for the input guys, i emailed meggala, just waiting on a reply. the sill isn't to bad, skirts will cover it up, the floor is still ok same with the b pillar, its only really the doors
  22. yeah i went along, the stock ceffy goes hard!! well, a bit too much body roll, but the 140 k hand brake action sure was fun!! buggered the rear tires pretty quick tho the new seats made one hell of a difference too.
