I dont know the answer to your question, but I did read in Zoom (or HPI) for what thats worth, that they fried a PFC by using the wrong PFC-BCK. Dont take this as gospil, but its worth looking into it.

NOS system, WET/DRY for rb25det
4door_Sleeper replied to Boostn247's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Is it safe to increase boost without aftermarket pistons ? There comes a point for any engine where enough is enough. The rb25det seems to be OK up to 250rwkw, so an extra 75hp of NOS at this point might be pushing it too far, but if you are only putting out 150-200rwkw, then a shot of NOS is probably your cheapest way to get that much power. -
Automatic Transmission Shift Kit. - Updated Oct 2006
4door_Sleeper replied to 4door_Sleeper's topic in Group Buys
As soon as we have sufficient numbers we will have a chat with MV and work out how payment should be handelled (and a final price). One option may be that you transfer money to him, another might be that you send it to lukits01 or myself and we will give it to MV as a transfer oc cash depending upon what deal works best. If we can get 4 mambers from one state we should be able to reduce the cost of shipping if everyone can collect it from a central location, but this will depend upon numbers and locations. Hope this helps. -

Holly make systems for Fuel injected cars as well as carby systems. You shouldnt need an aftermarket ECU, just set the mix correctly. -

Group buy posted atAuto Trans Shift Kit Group Buy
-
This topic and prices have been updated on October 9th 2006. MV Automatics in Adelaide make shift kits for automatic skylines. The kit consists of a Valve Body for the RE4R01A auto trans, which includes R32's and R33's and some others (Stageas I believe). And now R34's Final price is now $330 +$55 deposit + postage of between 20 and 30 dollars) and he will send you out a complete Valve Body Assembly. The $50 deposit on your old valve body assembly will be sent to you when you post your old one back and it checks out OK. If you just want to purchase one and not worry about posting your old one back then the price is $385. Higher speed torque converters of between 2800 and 3000rpm are $410 changeover The discussions about this have taken place on the following thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...age=1&pp=40 Some members have asked about an option to include a new gasket and filter, which Mike said he would highly recommend we all do anyway, will cost about $33 for a "Service Kit" Mike at MV AUTOMATICS (1 Stirling Rd Blackwood SA 5051 (08) 8370 0430 ) can run the group buy for us but have asked that we do it in groups of 4 at a time. When the first 4 send back their valve bodies these will be modified and overhauled ready for the second group of 4. Could those who want to take part in this Group buy please PM me to express your interest. Final price is still a little unsure, but the maximum price would be $335 +$50 deposit (refunded when you return your serviceable valve-body) + $33 for a service kit if required. Names of those confirmed will be posted below. PS I have already installed this kit in my 33, and highly recommend it. I spoke to Mike this afternoon, and got some more information for you. His advice is that a separator plate will only do 1/4 of the job. The separator plate sits between the valve body halves. A shift plate wont control the shift overlap properly and the only way to improve lubrication as the revs rise is to modify the valve body (something about the factory valve-body restricts the lubrication high in the rev range, but the modified valve-body fixes this). Sorry my knowledge on the black art of Autos is a bit limited, so I hope this explanation Mike gave me satisfies your questions. I asked about an option to include a new gasket and filter, which Mike said he would highly recommend we all do anyway, will cost about $33 for a "Service Kit" MV can run the group buy for us but have asked that we do it in groups of 4 at a time. Final price is still a little unsure, but the maximum price would be $335 +$50 deposit (refunded when you return your serviceable valve-body) + $33 for a service kit if required. Apparently R34s use a different valve body but, but Mike can modify these if required.

A seat on the senate would probably have a chance; you would have no chance in the lower house. Vote for me; think of the mods I could do to the Skyline on that sort of salary. PS I promise (Core promise) not to use a G car, I'll take my ride. PS don’t click on the link above (channel 7) to see the video footage, it just convinces them that they are on a good thing for their ratings.

Group buy beeing organised by Lukits01 and myself. Stay tuned.

getting more low down torque/power ???
4door_Sleeper replied to leech_'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Its the equivalent of a clutch in an automatic gear box. It has the added benefit that it can multiply the torque prior to locking up. -
You two dont have to go to Perth, we wont spoil your special day Erica

You guys should bring them allong to the next cruise and give us a demo.

 Sad thing is its quicker than your old ride.

getting more low down torque/power ???
4door_Sleeper replied to leech_'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Option 1 - Add a torque converter = more torque down low. Option 2 - Cubic inches = torque, go the RB30 route Option 3 - Change your gear ratios or Diff ratio. -
Keen to take my car for a run. Got it back the other day with the new turbo on, FANTASTIC. So fara mild tune gave me 220rwkw at 14psi. Want to try an auto down the 1/4 with the new shift kit working. Can anyone help out with some rear rubber, I am willing to rent/contribute to the cost, but I didnt want to run a time and then sit back and wonder "what if I had run with some good rubber".

My advice is to go for a drive in both cars and see which ine you prefer. Both have their pros and cons, and for me the GTR would win, but you may prefer the WRX. It will depend on your driving style and how they feel to you.

OK, OK I spoke to MV Automatics today for you lot. His NORMAL price is $335 (+$50 deposit - see below) and he will send you out a complete Valve Body Assembly. There is a $50 deposit on your old valve body assembly, which will be sent to you when you post your old one back and it checks out OK. Apparently any competent back yard mechanic should be able to fit a valve body assembly, so any workshop should find it quite easy - not that I have done this. If you are in Adelaide he will install it himself for you and charge you $335 ( = no labour charge). I mentioned a group buy of 10 and he indicated that something could be done, but that he would have to do a bit of work first (I don’t think he has 10 sitting on the shelf ready to go today, but could get 10 ready if needed) I have had the kit installed and love it. Shifts are much crisper, but unlike the old style shift kits that always shift very hard, the skyline shifts are somewhat dependant upon throttle position. This means that when driving easy in the city you wont get whiplash when t changes, but plant your foot and the shifts will be even quicker. I am happy to act as a go between if it helps to have a person here in Adelaide, but wont be offended if someone else wants to do it.

What goes best, auto or manual?
4door_Sleeper replied to B0oStEr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes there are others, but no one else on these forums has the sort of reputation that Sydney Kid has (other than myself ) The MV Automatics I went to is here in Adelaide. 1 Stirling Rd Blackwood 5051 (08) 8370 0430 -

4door_Sleeper replied to B0oStEr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The PFC was in the car prior to going to MV automatics. I have offered Sydney Kid a drive in my car next time he is in Adelaide (he didnt come to Mallalar last time) which may answer some of your questions and I believe others will value his comments and opinions. -

4door_Sleeper replied to B0oStEr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Shift quality didnt change when I put the PFC in the car. Originally my shifts were good (tight) compared to other autos I had driven (Holden, Ford, Chrysler) but after the shift kit its VERY tight. (ie it will chirp tyres between gear changes, which it would only do previously when I had crap tyres on the car) -
What goes best, auto or manual?
4door_Sleeper replied to B0oStEr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I just plugged it in, pushed the kick panel back and drove it. No problems :-) Most other PFC problems I have heard of are word of mouth (I know someone who tried it and ....) so I wonder if its just stories being told or if they did really try it. Mine is in a series 1 R33, so it may be a model specific thing, I dont know for sure. -
What goes best, auto or manual?
4door_Sleeper replied to B0oStEr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The car runs great (well it was until I blew the turbo, hope to pick it up tonight with the new GCG turbo installed and tuned) As you indicated, but for the benefit of others, my car runs on a PFC (without a std ECU) The improvement in mid range power with the PFC is excellent, and the removal of boost and speed limiters was definitely needed. The best my car has made to date was just under 200rwkw, but that was a safe tune for day-to-day driving (didn’t want to push it too far). With the new turbo I hope to get around 230, but I am really looking for the improvement across the whole power curve rather than just chase top end power. For those with Autos I would seriously recommend getting a shift kit installed from MV Automatics in Adelaide. The skyline auto isn’t really a slush box when compared with what Ford or Holden offer, but the improvement with the kit is worth every dollar ($300 installed). -

Then why do most (all??) BIG BIG horse powered drag cars (read funny cars, top fule) run a modified auto. I cant think of a more violent application than the type of launch they are put through. (they dont use dog boxes with quick shifters) My auto works fine with 200rwkw. MV automatics claim it should be good for close to 300 before it needs to be modified. From what I gather that puts the auto box on par with a manual. I cant post 1/4 mile times yet, but I hope to have the car down the drags latter this summer. (no use attempting a run with tein HA's on the car). Someone on these forums has posted a mid to high 12 second in an auto with a little over 200rwkw.
