  1. Each to their own.... you can't educate some people and the more you try the more indignant they become. Eg: I like BMW's but I appreciate the fact that the Skyline is a fantastic car and If I could have an M5 and a GTR then I would
  2. Hey all, The lease is up on my B4 in so its time to find someone to buy it. Its a standard MY02 B4, Blue Mica, 5spd manual, located in Melbourne. For those of you who dont know what a B4 is I will elaborate - 2.0lt 190kw Twin Turbo (sequential VF32 & VF33) - Recaro Blue / Black Leather interior - Mcintosh CD Stereo - 17" BBS Alloys Car was a Subaru Australia executive car for its first 7,000 kms at which time I bought it, so I guess you could call me its first 'real' owner. While I have had the car I have had the following upgrades performed. - Uprated Discs (DBA drilled & heat treated) and pads (RB74 and COMP-2) from RaceBrakes. - Front Whiteline Strut brace - Rear Cusco Strut brace - Front and rear Whiteline Swaybars - Whiteline Anti-Camber Kit Car has 75,000 on drivetrain and 2,500 on the new engine. To cut a long story short Subaru have replaced the entire engine (and turbos) with brand new items ex-japan. I have the list of things replaced if anyone really wants to see it. Car has complete Subaru Glen Waverley service history. I have almost exclusively ran it on BP Ultimate, with an occasional tank of Synergy 8000 if BP is not available. Car has never had anything less than 98 RON fuel. Still has 2 years of 'Subaru Assured' warranty remaining. Subaru Assured is backed by Subaru Australia but is not the same as a new car warranty. It is certainly better than those useless 'dealership warranties'. Engine has 2 years of its own from Subaru Australia. It's a good clean example of an australian delivered B4 with rego until March 06 So if you want a car that will not give you an ounce of trouble yet still perform admirably then a B4 may be a wise move. Cost: $32,000 ovno Any questions or queries etc then please let me know. Cheers, Aaron
  3. Not buying the table from Sydneys would be a good start. Some of their stuff is cheap and nasty.
  4. Pensinsula BM are quite good as are BM Tech. Also ring BM Spares in Dandenong and find out who they recommend for engine installations, talk to Neville (if he still works there) he knows his BMW's back the front. The E28 was not that heavy compared to the E34, so weight should not be a problem...
  5. Hahaha .. its all good mate ... watch out next time though We need to plan round 2 of the SAUVGKC (Skylines Australia Victoria Go-Kart Championship) now. Outdoor track I am thinking as the moorabbin one was a touch too tight for our "I wonder if 3 karts can fit around here at the same time" moves :jump:
  6. As they say. "rubbin is racin.. harry" I'm still tasting exhaust fumes
  7. I've been reading the sup reqs and it refers to showing proof of payment .. has anyone received anything to that end? does not look like my credit card has even been charged yet .. has anyones?

  9. Yup...Ferni's my mate, we both work at the RACV, 'work' is such a general term The B4 is a stocker at the moment with the exception of whiteline sway bars front and rear and new brakes courtesy of RaceBrakes in Nth Melbourne. I want to see how she performs in present guise, then look at areas of particular weakness to improve on, for subsequent outings Its still running the Sequential setup yes, which consists of a VF33 and a VF34. As you probably know you can turn them into a single turbo setup, but the lease finishes in December 2006 so any mods that I do I want them to be easily reversable so the car will still be easily sold, for the next lease car which I wont bore you with (I'm a crazed BMW fan). To that end I have spoken with Steve Coates @ AVO who is suggesting 1 Legacy 99-00 TMIC 1 AVO-060 Legacy/WRX Bolt-On Blow-Off 1 GEN - Workshop 3" Stainless Cat back Exhaust 1 SMT6-AVOKIT SMT6 Unit & Harness 1 WRX-2001-NOZ AVO Water Spray Nozzles 1 GEN - Pump for Waterspray system 1 LINK-086 Donut Knock Sensor 1 LINK-085-1 KnockLink Outrigger Mod. 1 LINK-086-1 Donut Sensor Parts Kit which should set me back about $4.4k all up *pats GE Fleet* Being only 190kw @ present (dunno at wheels) its pretty slow when compared to some of the monsters that are skylines but its an enjoyable ride none the less, as I like my creature comforts (as ferni will attest), so quality Mcintosh stereo, leather electric seats, blah blah blah. Cheers, Az
  10. Hi, I'm new to this group so a big "Howdy ho' goes out to all. I'll be there with my Subaru Liberty B4 (VIC rego: 'BFOURU') so if you see me, do say g'day. Being the first track day for me and car it is going to be very interesting, brakes have come in for some Race Brakes fettling and standard sway bars have been replaced with whiteline items so it should be a fun day. Cheers, Azza
  11. Heya, Simple answer is not much. Detailed answer is like any car it all depends on how it was / is looked after. If you are interested in doing it yourself then you NEED to get yourself a copy of the Robert Bentley service manual for the E30 ... http://www.bmwe30.net/cgi-bin/datacgi/data...0&finalrecord=9 The engine is an M10 and was designed by Baron Alex von Falkenhausen BMW's premier engine designer. An interesting note is that the M10 was the same engine that went into the Brabham F2 car and made over 1000 HP... so if you want a block that can handle 1000HP then the M10 is for you From 1990 onward the M42 was used and was carried over into the E36. But back to servicing. There are not many serious known faults with the E30, the M10 is solid as a rock, BMW Thermostats can cause problems but at about $70 from a Dealer they are not overly expensive. Coolant Temp Senders (standard BOSCH item) can cause problems but are easily fixed, and the standard radiator can block up. On the later cars (M20's are prone for this) the Idle Control Valve can get stuck and cause a rough idle, but on an M10 thats not so much of a problem as it does not use Bosch Motronic DME ECU's but its precursor in K-JetTronic. http://www.bmwworld.com/engines/m10.htm Btw... If you are in Melbourne, a good friend of mine works at a BMW Dealership and completes servicing on the weekend, so if you want a fussy BMW trained tech to service your car let me know. Cheers, Aaron
