  1. Thanks for the replys. Well, I want to move away from turbo cars as their just headaches. Every car is a headache but turbo cars are just too much plumbing here and there so I want something simple. Reading an old magazine I came across those club cars like the Caterham or Westfield. Are these better alternatives?
  2. Don't think I'm going to do it now. My car leaked radiator fluid the other day and I just snapped! I'm looking for other alternative cars to race and probably get rid of the line. Preferably light weight non-turbo cars.
  3. Hahaha!!! Now do it to the chicks!
  4. Help me please! Other post
  5. "Can we get rid of all the mexicans?" Mr. Garrison What stumped me in Melbourne was the old rule that if oncoming traffic wanted to turn in front of you, you had to give way. Those hook turns are mainly to avoid accidents with trams.
  6. 6X9'S are good if you can't run subs. Rear speakers should just fill in the sound at the rear. Get a good sets of spits as this sets up the front stage. Careful when looking at watts. Is it peak or RMS? Peak means jack. RMS is constant power.
  7. I'm really thinking of selling the line and getting a competition/hooligan car. Open wheeler is what I really want to get into but I've got no carting experience. Looking around I see some Formula Ford cars for sale and I just wanted to know a few things? How are they on reliability? How expensive can repairs get? I wouldn't mind racing it, but more just track days, hillclimbs and maybe a club on occasions. Is this possible? Anyone know where I can go to get more info?
  8. I meant sleeper on the streets. 25GTT, I went looking around today and found that Car Mate are asking for $1050 for the same one as Unique. I didn't get to see it in real life but I'm not too impressed. Jetspeed are getting some in at the end of the month and have no idea on price. I will keep you up to date.
  9. Mick51, I was only kidding with fatz. I really want a sleeper, so no kit or wing is being bolted on as long as I'm still the owner of the car. The idea of the bonnet was just purely for the race track, nothing more. Yeah I know which bridge your talking about, I went past there before and OMG, it's so f*ckn big
  10. Good to see you here mate! There's more people here than SDU. Look out in this section (New South Wales and the events section within it) for "night cruises" for some action. Hope to meet you.
  11. Track day or BBQ, I'm down.
  12. We line up and parade around the track at 60km/h.... :uh-huh: Just kidding. It's anycar that's willing to give it a go. You go at your own pace, but it's split into 3 groups. Fast, med, slow. You don't have to put in blistering laps, but it would be nice to see it though. Fatz is right, at the track it's all a package. driver and car.
  13. tommys-bookmarks.com if you want hardcore movies, get kazza and do searches on your fav "movie star".
  14. Pete, I want a full sick kit with 747 wings, and it's got to have a "Oh my god!, fully sick bro" spray painting on the bonnet.
  15. What kind of brake cleaner stuff are you guys talking about? Do they come in spray cans or bottles?
  16. When you get the car, dyno it and get a read out of a/f ratios. If it's too rich, SAFC. Ask yourself, why do you want the RSM? Rice factor, or for the data it can give you, and do you know what it means? If you intend on modifying the car more in future, get the PowerFC or something similar, and don't waste money on something you'll end up replacing, ie. SAFC.
  17. At one point it did cross my mind, however some folks on SDU said they are prone to electrical problems. I also had the idea to remove the mechanical fan and put electric fans, however this also has the same problem.
  18. The radiator has been upgraded and an oil cooler too. My intention is just to use the bonnet on the track as I hate the unwanted attention it draws. How much do upgraded water pumps cost?
  19. I'm having real problems with temps at the tracks and was wondering about getting a carbon fibre bonnet with vents. Anyone have any experience with holes in bonnets? Also where else can I get one besides unique? Like to keep options open.
  20. If your at work they probably lock you out with a firewall. Try at home, and if you still can't PM me and I'll email you them.
  21. Longer piping results in more lag. You may gain little at the top (which I doubt) but it'll take longer to spool up.
  22. I don't know how to tune and don't pretend I know, but I find this as a very useful tool for monitoring the engine especially at the race tracks. I love this H/C cause I can remove it and hide it in the glove compartment when I leave the car. Guages aren't easily hidden, and I would need 8 guages to show me in what the PowerFC HC shows me in 1.
  23. Is this still going on ahead? When?
  24. If you get the power fc you can remap the timing/fuel/air and it can get rid of pinging. But that really depends on the tuner so get a good one. Peak power doesn't mean the world. Since getting mine it's got way more midrange power/torque than before. Top end is just a bonus. Turbo is good for 1 bar. With stock cooler.... my mate blew piston and bottom end with 1 bar on a hot day. Car had stock cooler and ecu. It's a S15. That should give you a rough idea.
