  1. Awesome - learnt something new! Drilled it out a bit and put my ECV cable through there. Works perfectly.
  2. Hi all, I'm going to run a cable for my ECV and want to drill out this 'thing' since it will hold the cable at the right angle. It is located next to where the speedo cable comes through the firewall and is blocked on the outside. It isn't serving a purpose as far as I can see but I'm curious to know what it is meant for - if anyone knows.... Looking up at the firewall. You can see the speedo cable entry to the left of the 'thing': View from the inside of the car: Part removed from car:
  3. You need air con in the UK? That place is basically the overcast arctic all year round
  4. Damn! Good price! I bought an R32 one recently (am waiting to fit it when i get back from o/s). Best price I found was ~$100 delivered for a new cable from Jesse Streeter in Japan. Nissan AU wanted $154 for them lol
  5. Eeew the wiring does not look fun. I remember I hit the headlight loom with a hole saw once....I was so angry. Took me a half a day to stich then all back together!!
  6. All good. Jesse said a brand new one is $100 delivered so I've ordered one. Spent some time today removing the cat and as usual had to grind off at least one of the exhaust bolts. Someone had already had a go at removing it in the past and rounded it nicely. Also while I was under the car I noticed a crack in the floor where the trans tunnel meets it and obviously the exhaust has been bashing against it and creasing it in the past. Pulled out the welder and closed it up before it spread any further Also ordered one of these bad boys today - I liked that the lever was a bit more user friendly than the Apexi one and it was ~$30 cheaper delivered. http://www.frsport.com/Circuit-Sports--EXV-M076-WK-3--Exhaust-Control-Valve_p_37639.html
  7. Interesting..... I heard that the VL turbo ones work but I'm not sure about one from the wreckers...might just break again. But for $20 I might give it a go. I could buy 5 of them for 1 new cable haha
  8. Great video! Sounds so good and love the pass @ 0:49 Can't wait to hit up calder again. Second half of this year I'll be all over it
  9. Well well well chaps, bit of an update here... Dan - Probly a couple of months away from rego and a track day. Nearly ready for rego but I'm going away for 3 weeks which puts it back. Want to get it retuned before I hit the track. I bought some cheap xxr rims all round with a higher offset and smaller width so they look a bit more reasonable for the street. 9.75in +20 all round but don't have a decent pic as yet so heres a shit one... Also after doing a heap of searching for silencers that would fit my exhaust I gave up and made my own. In hindsight it actually wasn't that hard and they came out alright. They cut about 5db off the exhaust and remove the deep rumble which the neighbours are enjoying being gone. Finally put my navara speedo sensor to good use and did the conversion mod only to find out that it is the cable that has snapped...the sensor was fine! Ah well, its done now. I read a couple of guides and didn't like their brackets so I made my own. It's 2 pieces of 1.6mm sheet shaped and welded (in hindsight - use 3mm straight off the bat next time). I cut a groove on the side closest to the bolt too so the bracket creates a fork over the sender and then bolts in. This means the sender can't rotate because it is held in place by the 2 sides of the fork. I have to order a new speedo cable but Nissan wanted $154 for one so I'm waiting on a price back from Jesse and see if Nissan Japan can do any better. If any one has a hook up at Nissan give me a yell. Best price I have from AU is $115 delivered. Couple of pics for your enjoyment... Bracket Slide it on from the back after fitting the sensor. I left a fair bit of metal on the back as there is space and it makes it easier to fit / remove. All connected up (with the broken cable) and bolted in. Bracket is super tight with no movement. Not bad for an hrs work in the shed. Hopefully next update will see it off the jack stands and rolling again. To do in the coming weeks: Raise front coils Wire front indicator wires and fit indicators Replace cat gaskets as both sides are blown (want to fit an Apexi ECV first - having a drainer of a time finding one though!) Fit new speedo cable once it arrives Refit interior dash pieces I think after all that it will be almost rego time!
  10. Looking really good mate! Gives me motivation to work on mine haha
  11. Hey mate - I have a din pocket but it is an open one (eg doesn't have the flip down front). Message me if you are interested in it.
  12. If yes - I am after many interior parts.... Kris - For about 2 seconds I thought it was your car until I saw the plates lol mild heart attack.
  13. Quick update. Bought a few bits and pieces to get this thing closer to driving somewhere. I managed to get a good haul of parts from a local guy in Melbourne who had to clear out his warehouse. Got 4 doors with windows, boot & bonnet, cluster, glove box, steering column, din pocket - all for a couple of hundred bucks. Very pleased Little jobs done: Fitted new dash cluster Rewired horn so it actually uses the horn button (was using a little button near the ignition previously but it was a pain to push in a hurry) Also got some clear indicators thanks to works_510's hot tip. They are a 99% correct fit for the standard Cefiro front bar indicators. Upon fitting I found out some genius has cut the plugs off!! >.< Only about $45 delivered so I'm super happy with them: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170816545537?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Other bits.... Rubber grommets to the little hole where the wiper was. Also got a grommet for the space wheel well. D21 Navara speedo drive to convert my RB25 electronic speedo to the Cefiro's mechanical one. The speedo hasn't worked in the car since I got it so I'm looking forward to actually having a speedo instead of guessing based on the revs! Just hoping that the sending that is in there at the moment is still and RB25 one.... For anyone that needs to connect and RB25 speedo in a Cefiro there is a great guide here: http://www.jdmlegion.com/KnowledgeBase/Engine%20and%20gearbox%20conversions/Making-a-mechanical-speedo-sender-for-the-RB25-gearbox-f0271b89-cd6e-425d-bc0a-ee62f51dfaa7
  14. Price drop on the rims! Need them gone so I can get Rego... Now $1850 for the full set including tires with very decent tread remaining!!
  15. Update. Seat has arrived and been fitted complete with pimp padded tiger patch I got my gfs mum to sew for me. I ended up glueing the rip that was there closed first, then glueing the patch on with upholstery glue and seems to hold really well. So good to not hit my head on the roof any more but I've got the rail up for sail as I want to get the FG super low for even more head clearance. Next item is a retune but probably wont be for a few months >.< Pic...
  16. Perfect opportunity to run a cut down loom to look super neat in the engine bay!
  17. Hi all, Selling some parts to replace them with other parts.... BRIDE R32/33/A31 side mount Super Low rail - $180 Got this with my BRIDE Artis and currently installed in my Cefiro. Perfect condition and slides nicely. Will suit BRIDE side mount seats (and possibly other side mounts too). Rail available for pickup or post in Melton West, 3337. Full set of SSR Vienna Schnitt wheels - $2200 neg Rear: 18 x 10.5 +5 (running 8mm spacer in photo below) Front: 18 x 9.5 +30 (running 45mm spacer in photo below) These wheels came with my Cefiro but I am looking to get the car rego'd in the near future so going to get something smaller for street driving. They seem to be quite rare in AU as I couldn't find any current or old listings online, only US/Asia listings. The wheels drive great (drove back from QLD to VIC with them) and will require a spacer to clear R33 brakes. Currently got a 8mm spacer on the rear for calliper clearance. There is a bit of gutter rash on them but all in all they are in good condition. Wheels pickup only in Melton West 3337. PM me on here or call me on 0409 623 940 Cheers, Konect
  18. Got a link to some to right size? I just find all the wrong ones lol
  19. *insert James May voice* and now its time for THE NEWS! Pulled out the dash cluster to see if I could fix the tacho problem and I can't, so I'm going to try a new cluster - let me know if anyone has one BRIDE Artis arrived today. Just gotta patch a hole in it and then it can be installed Went hunting for 2 grommets in a 7mm and 40mm size and got no where - any one know where I can get closed grommets? Washed the car for the first time since I drove it home from QLD and the bugs came off quite easily Moved 1 step closer to club rego Thinking I might sell the wheels and go a bit smaller for the street WTB a pair of indicators for the front bar if anyone has some for sale Going to same some bickies and get it tuned next. Stay tuned!
  20. Awesome! That's perfect. Mine is missing the plastic nut and looks like the thread has snapped off. Is the U12 part mentioned in the parts list a direct replacement for the plastic bit? Might have to see what Nissan are asking for them.
  21. So hard to explain! Its the part where the 2 cables join that has the white plastic spring that forms the release for the fuel lid. Basically just trying to work out how it is mounted as mine is floating around in the boot at the moment. It looks like it clips in somehow but mine stay there so I suspect 'something' is missing. Let me know if that's makes sense, if not ill take pics.
