So your going to use a V500 on a 34GTT?? Be interested to hear how it pans out. Yeah im unsure about the solenoid, I do not really have a pic handy to see the hose your talking about, I have just heard that internal solenoids are no good, but no real reasons why?

I am considering a Wolf V500 for my R33 SII GTST. First of all any comments on experiences with these would be great (i keep hearing mixed stories)?? Secondly, how reliable is the boost control unit? Most ECU's with in-built boost control dont particularly have the most reliable solenoid making boost and hp float around a bit, especially during tuning. Some comments please...

Gee mate that’s not a good story at all. Personally I would consider stripping and selling, and buying a 34GTT as you mentioned. It is an expensive exercise trying to make a NA car turbo (as you seem to already know), it goes so much further than just the engine and therefore is $$$ and there can be little re-assurance in determining what the outcomes may be. Usually if you have a trust worthy and highly skilled mechanic and tuner on hand this type of project can be successful. Plus the fact that you probably dont see the 32 in the most positive light anymore... Anyway good luck!

It’s the noise and the gas emissions. The environmental pollution is enforced by the EPA and apparently can lead to some serious fines if caught by this body. The noise is similar to the exhaust; they see it as a disturbance and possible cause of distraction to other drivers. Probably the main things performance cars get pulled over and yellowed for are... 1. Noise (exhaust, BOV) 2. Smokey exhausts 3. Ride height Failing those they will look for 1. Rims/tyres too large 2. Gauges above eye level 3. Unsecured Pod's 4. Stiff suspension And I have heard (but not confirmed) that you can get busted for the following too.. 4. Aftermarket ECU's? 5. High mount turbos?

Thanks NIB. I think in the end I may go Wolf, just a shame the dashes are not availble until they find another supplier. IMO PFC's are not really a good choice considering what they are and feature for the prices people are asking, you need to run Z32's with them which is an additional cost and nothings guaranteed because its all 2nd hand now. In comparision (for cost) there are many better choices, the only thing they have going for them is the support for tuning. Anyway my intake/turbo setup is.. HKS GT2530 SARD BOV 3" Turbo back exhaust (inc stainless steel dump/front) Hi flo cat Pod With an ECU i suppose i should get around 300rwhp?

Anyone had any experiences with these ecu's particularly in R33 gtst's? I am looking at an aftermarket standalone ecu, these seem to look good on paper and are a good price for what you get, but i do not know anyone with one. Can someone give me some feedback?

Out of interest what size rims are considered illegal for a R33 GTST? From what i understand 1 inch above factory is allowed, making 17's the biggest legal size. Is this right?
