  1. If you could that would be tops, can't be too hard, just be 6 massive 5w resistors surely ?
  2. Hold on, it seems to make sense why? you didn't give a single reason. Yes some people do use heavier oils but with absolutely no good reason, it is just people propagating 'thick oil is better' and then everyone starts doing it. When you start up a motor EVERY SINGLE oil is too thick. Even using a 0w-10 oil it will be too thick at start up and will cause extra wear. You should be using the thinnest oil your motor can tolerate as this will give the best performance and cause the least wear. I don't mean to have a go at you, but if you are 'far from an expert' perhaps you should refrain from giving advice as it just propagates misinformation. Exactly, the better your motor (tighter tolerances) is built the THINNER the oil you should be using. Thinner oil will always lubricate a motor better, the ONLY reason to use thicker oil is in extreme hot temperatures or if you have an old motor with leaky seals or poor tolerances.
  3. I'm actually a computer systems engineer so I am sure I could make one, just need to know the specs if anyone has them. If it is only $100 I might just buy a set though, anyone know who sells them?
  4. I found someone with stock injectors, fuel rail and fuel reg so Im gonna install the lot. I will just leave my waste gate unbolted so that the car doesn't boost and lean out Once I pass the inspection I'll put it all back with a resistor pack. Can anyone detail how to make a resistor pack and how I should install it ? Thanks again.
  5. Need a stock fuel rail and and fuel regulator for an rb25det, injectors are optional, will take them if they come with it. Cheers
  6. You said you have rb25det engine stuff but I can't see much listed. Would you by any chance have a stock fuel rail and fuel regulator?
  7. Will I need to fit a resistor pack to raise the impedance of the GTR injectors? or will they work fine on the rb20 ecu with nistune? I still have the rb20 loom and fairly sure the rb20 ignition system as well (car is an R32). Currently it is all run off a wolf3d V4 which I imagine has impedance matching drivers but I want to upgrade to a nistune (it is a rubbish ecu and wont pass an inspection). Anyone know? Thanks
  8. Why does everyone say this?
  9. Hey buddy, you don't happen to have an rb25det fuel rail, injectors or fuel regulator lying around do you? Cheers
  10. Would you sell the fuel rail + injectors + fuel regulator separately? If so how much would you accept? I understand if you want to keep the engine whole though, never ask never get!
  11. Clearly I do and so do lots of other people. You just outlined a way to give users access to be able to edit their posts that sounds very easy to me, why can't you do it? Surely it is more effort to reply to a PM and edit someone's post than to just add them to a list? I really do not understand why you can't do this. If it is so much bloody effort give me access to do it, I'd happily sit here for an hour adding everyone who has complained in this thread with posts > 200 on the list. It can be easily done, but you refuse on the basis that 'You shouldn't need to edit a post'. Even though 100s of reasons have been given in this thread and it obviously is a massive disadvantage to power users on this forum. I don't get it, you seem to get some sort of enjoyment out of this, much like when people on the forums are proved wrong.
  12. Nobody is against changes that result in less trading scams, they are just against not being able to edit their posts. Perhaps you could start that group and only add users when they make a request or annoy you in this thread (like me ). Only take you a minute to start that group and put me on that list Pros and cons. Pros, I get to edit my posts and you don't have to listen to me complain anymore! Cons, no one else's problem is fixed. Seems fair to me!
  13. You could just enable post editing for users that have lots of posts and clearly aren't dodgy traders ? Sometimes I get the impression you like being difficult to get a reaction.
  14. Doesn't make it any less annoying for us that complain about it
  15. This is a fantastic idea. What do you think of this mods? Dodgy traders will be obvious from attempting to edit out their posts along with other users being able to edit their threads! Another great idea mentioned earlier would be after you have say 200-300 posts that you get a proper edit function. Dodgy traders aren't going to bother making 300 posts just so they can edit their posts. If both of these ideas were implemented we would solve the problem at hand AND fix the BIGGER problem of everyone sending 1000 reports/PMs clogging up admins inbox's because they want their posts edited. edit: (Lol) I only noticed this thread after this feature seemingly working on and off (didn't realise the 2 hour thing) for the past month thinking it was a bug so I went searching. Perhaps it should be made a sticky and the first post updated to give clear concise reasons why this has been done, that would stop users skimming the thread and posting in here asking the same questions multiple times.
  16. I want these gone so hit me up with an offer people! Oh these are the turbo brakes from an rb20det GTS-T R32 as well.
  17. You will get air reversion if you run no bov but if tuned correctly you won't get the black puff of smoke or stalling issues that you get with blocking the bov off on a stock ecu. I know the redtop rb20s never had a bov and they were tuned to suit from the factory, no black puffs or stalling issues at all.
  18. Because unless you run a plumback BOV (all manufacturers do these days) the AFM will read double the air flow on gear changes due to the air crossing past the AFM twice. This is a VERY minor problem however and at worst will cause a tiny black puff of smoke on gear changes. The problems that a MAP sensor present are much more serious than a tiny tiny increase in emissions on gear changes or hard throttle to zero throttle transitions. Who should you believe? Yourself. Do some research and find out for yourself the pros and cons of each, asking here is a great start but ultimately you cannot trust anyone but yourself, so you should do as much research as possible before you commit to any idea. Regarding batch injection mode, the difference in fuel economy is entirely due to your tuner however 10% is a big different, if you are using 14L/100km then if you switch to batch injection that is 15.4L/100km. You are buying a new ECU, there is no good reason to buy one that does not have 6 injector drivers and that has less than optimal air measuring sensors.
  19. You are talking about an oldschool eeprom remap, a nistune is nothing like this. A nistune has real time tuning support like a full aftermarket ECU, infact I would say it is better than most aftermarket ECUs as it looks stock and retains all the factory features along with almost every feature a full aftermarket ECU has. The nistune is light years ahead of the EMS stinger which is essentially a downgrade as it doesn't have 6 injector drivers. If they told you that then they must not have installed a nistune and probably just did a crappy remap, the reason I say this is crappy is because most tuners can only be bothered taking the ROM out and erasing/programming it a few times. This means you only have a few shots to get the tune right unlike a real time board where you can easily make 100s of corrections in an hour. An AFM is more accurate than a MAP sensor as the MAP doesn't take into account air temperature, remember 30psi of air at 10c vs 40c is a big difference! not to mention that if you change any of your intake that your tune will be completely out, this is as any change in flow will change the restriction and hence the pressure of the air. If you must go MAP make sure you have some form of temperature compensation. This is completely true, avoid batch injection mode as it is a massive down grade from the standard ECU. Personally I would take the nistune without hesitation as it is a fantastic unit that rivals a lot of standalone aftermarket ECUs. The tuning software is also great, much easier to tune than some software out eg, eg wolf etc. However if your tuner doesn't like nistune for whatever reason I would find someone else as your tune is only as good as the tuner, and if you tuner doesn't have experience with a nistune then I doubt his tune will be as good as someone who does them everyday.
  20. I'd imagine they are but if people are driving like cocks they will do anything to defect your car. That is usually the way it works.
  21. I have a set of front R32 brakes for sale. The rotors are in good condition, plenty of pads left and they come with the lines and the brackets attached to them, only came off the car yesterday and were in perfect working condition. Can get pictures on request. Will ship interstate at buyers expense. Looking for $300 or nearest offer, not really sure how much they are worth so send me an offer if you think that is too much. Can contact me via PM or on <removed> my name is Roland.
  22. My drivers side windows was all of 1mm further down than the passenger door, straightened out a clothes hook and unlocked it in about 30 seconds. Was scarily easy to get in Managed to get my turbo back on and R33 brakes installed as well. Just need a few gaskets and hoses and it should be drivable Thanks for the help everyone who PMd me
  23. How did you get back in?
  24. No I just got the car and only one key came with it. Also not an RAA member. Will see how I go over the next few days.
