  1. i need to have one stud in my head heli coiled as it was snapped and the manifold started to leak when we were doing full power runs up to 7400 because of the heat, i was hopefull it would hold out and not leak, but oh well, ill get it done in the next month or so. imalso going to look into getting a good 3800 stall converter with transbrake to pickup a bit of the power loss in the auto. another downfall, which i expected, was the pipe setup. with the i/c pipe running right past the turbo to the throttlebody, it was heating the intercooler pipe up pretty significantly, so im going to buy a turbo blanket and wrap the exhuast off the turbo to bring the temps down. yeah i think its a good result, its a pretty lazy 260rwkw. oh and we had a drama with the oil return hahahah, it kinda started melting hahaha, i went and bough some fire proof covering for it, some special stuff thats heat and fire proof and that was sorted, we also melted the pos pressure line to the wastegate haha, had to re-route it, was just a bit to close to the manifold. i think the best news i got was the fact that the engine itself having 184,000 on it, is healthy for its age, no blow by, oil a tiny oily smell from the exhaust at around 7000 rpm.. so i think it should hold out easily at this power. ill tell u what, the car has never sounded so smooth, it feels alot better to drive. oh and its on boost at 3600 rpm forgot to mention that above - ill take some short vids tomorrow if i get the chance.
  2. yeah, got the car at home with me, all tuned up. i forgot to get some dyno graphs to show on here, ill have to pick them up this weekend. The car didnt get the figures i was chasing but none the less, after trent and i had a chat there is still heaps of room for improvement. It ended up making roughly 260rwkw on a hot run, and 270rwkw on a cold run @ 17psi. Taking these factors into consideration: the car is auto, and the converter is pretty spongey, so trent roughly estimated im losing about 40rwkw through the auto, im also only on bp98, if it was on E85, or an E85 mix, he said we could see around a 30rwkw gain. Then i can always take it out higher in the boost range, he suggested taking it to 19 psi, and we might see a pretty good imporvement in power and about 22psi max, but for now ive stuck with 17psi because im frying tyres already and i didnt build the car to fry tyres and go slower, i want it quick on the street. so the money i saved ill be trying to get some wider wheels for it. the limiter is also set to only 7400 rpm and it was still making plenty of power, so it could easily see power through 8000rpm, he made a pretty safe tune all round for the time being until i get a few things fixed. so all in all, im happy, it hauls ass for an auto, and ill be making some changes and taking it back for more boost, and maybe on an e85 mix to see it past 300rwkw with he auto.
  3. ive changed tuners once again. lol, its now going to Trent @ Status on tuesday afternoon.. the original tuner increased his price by $400.... no idea why the price went up so much, but trent can do it for much cheaper lol.
  4. funnily enough my turbo was the $50 cheaper one, and i got a cool nut on the comp hahahah
  5. how jealous? hahahaha. seriously, this is how it was when i got it. and anyone in vic that might be attending the show n shine at carribean gardens on sunday the 22nd of may, i should be there with the car, i might be entering with another club just for the hell of it, not for trophies, just for somthing to do. as for the tune... it will be interesting to see, especially auto with a powerFC, ive since been told that powerFC's werent made for autos.... makes me wonder if the ecu is a powerFC ive never looked lol, thats what i was told it had when i bought it. i know its not a stock ecu because i have a dyno sheet from the previous build from the previous owner, oh well might pull it out tomorrow and double check it. the guy thats tuning it thinks we should easily make 300rwkw on 17psi without pushing the engine 2 hard. its being road tuned apparently.. i dont know much about the tuning side of things, just the mechanics of it all. then cross fingers with some slicks, + the auto, im hoping for a mid to low 11 as simon has done. btw simon what oil are you running in your engine, i need to throw in some new stuff before the tune. im running Motul Turbolight 10w-40, but ive been told i should go up to a 10w-60. any thoughts? cheers.
  6. car is booked in for a tune next monday, finally ahha. Somthing i noticed is defferent between my T67 and simon/batteries, mine had a bullet type nut on the compressor, came like that from factory...
  7. actually, its the line pos pressure line to my external gate i dont have a controller for it. i still cant believe i did that, oh well, ill fix it up monday, i have some hose laying around.
  8. actually, hes right, after looking at it.. lol stupid me, the bov has to plumbed back to the plenum(vacuum when the throttle is shut) otherwise it wont have vacuum to open it and will stay pressurised lol, i honestly didnt even pay attention to that when i put it in last night.
  9. most of my shit is legal though defect wise, but no way in hell will i pass EPA... i have another setup for the intake pipe which will bolt up to an airbox , so that will make the fmic legal, the exhuast manifold as far a i know is legal as its no different to a set of extractors in theory, my wastegate i plumbed into the exhaust, my ECU is hidden, and my injectors are highflowed so they dont stand out like dogs nuts.. so apart from being unsure about the wastegate, oh and i have no boost adjuster, i dont actually know what will fail defect wise. As i said though EPA will have a field day on it.. punched out cat, one muffler, injectors, ecu... lol, no hope.
  10. should be, but when i drive it almost everyday still.. well when its tuned i will be, you tend to get pulled over a fair bit and id like to try and avoid the EPA as much as i can hahaha. and nah the lines run along the chassis rail then come up with the aircon pipes which they are cable tied to im not that silly, although i might heat shield them anyway, wouldnt hurt, im going to be doing the brake line on that side, last thing i need is boiled brake fluid, happend to my cousin in his rx7, ran a 10.4 1/4 mile and couldnt stop intime for the 1st off shoot, had 2 run all the way down to the end of the strip.
  11. nah $30 is all i paid em, 30 mins labour... power steering and my charcoal canister have been relocated to the firewall on the passengers side. and all my wiring on that side is under the guard so all i have left is
  12. sigh got rolled today, went and picked up my pipework, with the bov adaptor welded in place... well wasnt that a mistake to take it to someone who i normally dont get to do my work. they totally f#$%ed the whole job. i sent an intercooler pipe with a genuine turbosmart bov adaptor to suit the stock rb25 crossover pipe, told them to cut the base plate off, or trim it up and weld it on. Now you would think, trim it up would mean keep it neat, cut it in a circle u know, using your common sense, along with drilling the hole out to suit the 32mm I/D or the adaptor, well didnt i get a shock. The welding is terrible, looks like a pile of bird shit, they didnt tidy it up by cutting the base plate into a nice circle, just lopped a bit off each end, and then to make it worse, the hole in the pipe iteslf was only 20MM seriously WTF. Luckily i have a die grinder and fixed it up, but the welding makes the whole job look like a piece of sh1t. It will get me out of trouble for the tune, but now i have 2 get it done again. ROFL at this work from a stainless steel and aluminium fabrication shop.
  13. surely someone wants to take this off my hands.... these bonnets retail for well over $1k new, and thats even if you can find one in aus, this was bought in from japan. A bit more sanding to smooth over the re-resin, paint it black.. or whatever colour you want, and you have perfectly clean carbon bonnet, that i doubt you will ever be lucky enough to finad another car in vic with one. Also just to note, the damage was superficial only. The on img of where the carbon sheet is damaged, is the only one. the rest of the cracks are in the RESIN ONLY, the carbon fibre was not damaged. I pad a fair bit for this bonnet, and used it for maybe a month. As stated above, it was damaged in transit, somthing must have been put ontop of the bonnet in a truck and the weight split the resin. anyways, decent offers even??? i need some rims ppl... ahha
  14. i was going to status, but ive chosen a different tuner, the guy im going to was recomended to me by a friend, he tunes thier GTR track cars, and also an aus distributor of KAMAK turbos.
  15. hmms... geez i cant wait to get my car on the dyno... i wish i still had my GT3076, i could have used the same setup, and switched between the GT30 and my T67 and get a good comparison.
  16. damn, i wish that was there before i bought my T67.... that could be one hell of an interesting turbo to play with. bov came today, so im getting close to getting mine tuned, some new oil and plugs, and i also need to mod my fuel pump to the straight 12v off the battery. it was already in the car when i bought it. pulled it out, its a walbro 255lt/h, but only hooked up to the stock 11v wiring, which makes the pump not run at full capacity im to believe, as they can run 13.3v. so ill rewire the fuel pump this week, do an oil change and some plugs, and send it off to be tuned next week.
  17. might also be interested in a pair of wheels/tyres instead of a set, or maybe a foward facing plenum. need it gone, taking up space im my garage.
  18. pictures of what?? have a read through the pages, there is some of my setup on Page 15, and others of simons back near the beginning i think.
  19. hi guys, need to get rid of this bonnet as it wont fit with my new setup and taking up space. regretful sale as these bonnets dont come along everyday. it was damaged in transit when i purchased it, and has since had the cracks in the resin ground back and re-resined. the damage is still visible and would suit a paint job for a street car(some prep work will be involved). im hunting around the $500 mark - though decent offers wont be refused. as for a swap, im looking for a set of wheels, preferably with decent tyres, i am willing to trade the bonnet + my R34 GTT rims/tyres for a set of rims/tyres. im looking for somthing wider than i have now, im nto to fussed about a bit of gutter rash, my r34 rims have a few marks on them which i will take pics of if i get anyone interested. my wheels have 225/45's on the front and are 98% tread, not sure on tyre brand, somthing fairly cheap, and 235/45 on the rear wrapped in falken zeix at about 70% tread. so im looking for 17/18/19's that i can put 255's on, my new setup has traction issues. leave me a pm on here im on everyday. cheers
  20. ... im running the stuff that came with it for the oil drain??? i left the stock adaptor in the block and used the hose that came it and the 45 degree out of the turbo, i didnt see it necessary to have a braided oil drain. if i run into problems, then i will look at changing it. atm im waiting to see how my external gate performs. it was a pretty cheap setup from the US, but its all billet aluminium, so im hoping it all works ok, it definatly seals properly, thats for sure. i just wish my BOV would hurry up and arrive so i can go get the thing on the dyno. lol. btw for those interested in doing this with a stock plenum, its a real pain in the ass to do the intercooler pipe with a highmount, the pipe i used was a kit, i bought it used, and had to shorten and add an extra join under the drivers side, and the pipe just touches the bonnet. i also now have a S2 carbon fibre bonnet im going to sell because it wont fit with the intercooler pipe, it hits the main vent. shame because its a Stout type R which there isnt many of in aus.
  21. nice. the setup looks heaps better with the foward facing plenum ill eventualy get around to doing mine, but i want to see how it goes without it, as i dont think anyone has it setup with a stock plenum yet.
