anyone interested in an australia day cruise(thurs 26th jan)??? im up for somthing if someone is willing to help organise, im not to sure of good cruise points down here, im from nsw, only been here a few yrs and out of the scene. also, i might make another thread for this, but is there an interest for a "stagea forum" like not using SAU, and actually having a stagea club type scenario.... im not sure that there would be enough activity though. I run a pc shop and do a fair bit iof programming and can provide domain, hosting, and the technical side of things if there is other interested in helping out with moderation, gfx, layouts, tech info, etc etc. throw me a pm and if there is enough interest, ill make a new thread.

i didnt get the varrstoen wheels. i got some Koya Endless wheels custom made to my offset choice they are the blackwheels with chrome inserts.they arent bad,not really as jap spec as id like, but meh $1800 for the wheels and tyres is not a bad price.

ill get some photos for you of mine next week, i have just bought 19x8.5's with a +12 offset and mine is also an RS4S

stagea need gtr offsets, and ive already bought a new custom made set of wheels. -
the box had a KEAS shift kit in it, the same as the MV auto's one, except i had no shift controller and had no issues. seriously the best quote i have gotten so far is $3200 fully manualised box, built to handle 700rwhp using the keas kit(www.keas.com.au) + another 1500 for a cusotm built 8" pro drag stall converter from TCE. so your up for a good $5000 to build a decent RE4R01A box. it ran day in day out with the shift kit and 225rwkw, but the clutches in the 3/4 clutch drum(3rd and 4th gear) always slipped, it was 2 much power for it, so after 2 yrs, it finally stuffed up when it was on the dyno and only hit 255rwkw when it should have made around 280rwkw. so no matter how u look at it, the box wont hold big power without money thrown at it. my gearbox had 180,000kms on it, so maybe a low k's box will do better as long as you use good oil in it.

i have a 300rwkw r33... not to worried about the power gains atm, more just for note than anything but i might, i didnt see the other front pipes cheers.. down the track i plan on throwing in a TD06-20g, metal headgasket to lower the comp of the neo, and supporting mods, i think i should make a tidy 230-250rwkw with not much hassle. this is the 3rd rb ive built, know plenty about them engine wise , but this time round i want to try and keep it all hidden and as legal as i can this is my "family car" haha, high mount + t67-25g isnt exactly easy to hide on the other car ahah.
-
its all been orderd +12 all round. thanks for the help guys. i think i might chuck one of THESEon aswell, it already has a 3" catback Kakimoto, and one of the HPI FMIC's which are on special atm aswell and the car should be good for a while.

for anyone interested in some varrstoen wheels, heres a reply i recieved from them today 19x9.5 +22 fits great on a stagea , We have them landing in december for $1295 +80 del to VIC And with Federal 595 evo tyres $2495 delivered
-
yep. i have r34ggt wheels here, when i get the car, ill throw one on so pl can have a look and compare offsets better.
-
yeah i actually think i will go a +12. that way, if i need to bring it back out a bit, 3 or 6 mm spacer wont cost me the earth, and im out in vic counrty, not easy to get wheels machined down, and i cant mess around becuase i need to have it all sorted by the 15th of december.
-
ok no wories, i hope ur right hahaha.... otherwise i will be wasting over a grand going off a calculator this is what ive come up with from the stock 6 spokes which are a 7" +30 offset with a 19x8.5 at +6 offset i will have and extra 5mm clearance on the inner side and have a the wheels 43mm wider on the outside. that sounds right, because as u could see in the original pics, that the wheels sit in quite a bit. so 43mm should bring them basically inline with the guards. but im just wondering if i should go a bit higher in offset to be on the safe sifde because i dont want to get them and not beable to lower the car, and i will more than likely put in some adjustable camber items to fix up bad camber from lowering, so i think i might go a +11, because i know for a cact i have 5mm extra on the inside of the wheels from where they fit now, so the inside will be sitting the same and the outside will be 38mm wider, whcih should give me a few mm of clearance for camber correction.
-
but at +6 will they still tuck under the guards when it is lowered?? i basically want the top of the rear tyre to just tuck under and not scrub out on the guard.
-
ok i have decided on tyres aswell now. so ill endup with 4 x 19x8.5 and +offset??? with 235/35/19 tyres.
-
got bored, i guess they will look somthing like this. btw i made a typo above, just to confirm they are 19x8.5's not 9,5's
-
http://www.koya.com.au/?cars=endless-black-s2c-19 thats them. offset from +6 to +45
-
f**k it, i decided to buy some KOYA Endless rims. 19x8.5 and they are blanks so i can choose the offset i want. $290 a rim with whateva offset i desire. so, to make it simple, what offset should i run all round on 19x 9.5's on a RS4S to have the wheels sit just under the guards in the rear without pumping the guards. i will most likely buy 245x35's all round for the rubber. lol im sick of hunting, its easier to get somthing made.
-
thats correct, you can run different offsets, but not a different overall rolling outer tyre diameter. the problem ive got is finding somthing unique in my budget that suits the car
-
sigh, dont post if you have onthing imformative to say the reason im asking questions is because i need answers, otherwise, my car would have the wrong wheels by now, there no need to be a wanker. i understand the rolling diameter issue, thats fine, i just want to see how sensitive it is. now whats wrong with changing the tyres.... couldnt i just run 245's all round, im pretty sure u can go down to 235 on a 9.5 inch rim??? so a 245 should be fine, but it would be stretched on the 9.5 so again would that change the rolling diameter??? how are there others running staggered offsets?? ive seen other stages with it done.
-
i have a stagea getting complianced atm, ill definatly be up for some cruising during summer.
-
its a manual, and after using a rolling diameter calculator, icame up wiht the following. these are the wheels combos. 19x9.5 +11 with a 275/30 tyre, overall diameter = 647.44 mm 19x8.5 +11 with a 235/35 tyre, overall diameter = 646.93 mm so they are quite close, if i sit down im sure i can work out some difference in pressure to bring it even closer together.... the attessa isnt that sensitive is it haha... 1.49mm difference.
-
ok so how does a set of Volk GTC's sound that are 19x9.5 +11 and 19x8 +11??? should work?
-
i looked at some advanti's that are for sale on here, not the same style though, kinda msh type for $1100. they were 20's, but still not the look im after, they are kinda more luxury style. i dont mind the ROTA GTR-d which have a fair bit of dish on them, and still have that jap look about them, but i found them only in 18's, and i really want somthing bigger, they do fill out the guards, but the cars ive looked at with them, like the C34 with the pink ones, the car is dumped just to get them in the guards to look nice, and there is no way im going to get my car that low with the kit on it.

Shift Kit In 4 Speed Auto R33
OMY31T replied to crofte's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
not sure what oil. the guys who built/serviced it looked after that. im about 99% sure it was motul gearbox oil though. I guess 3 years is not a bad run with that kind of power, the only problem is when it goes, your up for a fair bit of dough to fix it. i have been quoted 2.5k to repair the clutches/solenoids/band and new gaskets/oil and reco torque converter, thats if i take out the box myself and deliver it. otherwise a full rebuild of the box including a new TCE 8" pro drag converter with hi stall, the box will be fully manualised, and built to handle 700rwhp the total was about $4600.
