  1. Does anyone know what the paint codes for the candy apple red, metallic blue & the champagne that the r34 gtr cam covers are painted in?
  2. Thanks i will be trying Rocket tomorrow for a set of file backs. Bore size is 3.899 approx. .004" clearance ,what Arias recommend. Thanks again if i don't do any good i will try acl & SPS.
  3. Has anyone else who has used Arias pistons found the ring gap on the supplied rings to be excessive .038". I contacted Rocket & exchanged the rings for another set but they aren't much better at .028". I am now searching for a top & second ring that require a file fit & that will match the Arias pistons. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. wanted 1 conrod to suite RB26DETT
  5. Just interested if anyone else has come across this problem of the oil squirter hitting the piston at BDC? I've just installed my first piston & it seems that it just hits the injector ,no.2 is worse, that was as far as i went, getting ready to machine the pistons to suite. I would like to see approx 1mm clearance around the squirter, as it was they would have been tapping the skirts & the bottom side of the piston near the knuckle. The clearance that Arias has supplied seems to be deep enough just 3-4mm offset forward to were they should be. :goddam: Engine hadn't suffered any trouble in the bottom end,was pulled down due to a severley blown head gasket. I've tried relocating the squirters, with the small amount of play that is available on the locating lug but can't seem to get enough clearance. Rb26 standard size arias pistons 86mm Standard RB26 rods Any help would be appreciated.
  6. I had a similar noise only when slowing down found out when rebuilding the engine that the crownwheel had nearly .5mm clearance!!
  7. Hi everyone, O.k here we go 1990 GTR R32 RB26DETT only mods are air pods. 115000klms 1.Blown head gasket 2.water on turbine caused it to crack & break off Basically i was driving along in top gear approx 110klm/h when the engine shutdown & heaps of white smoke was coming out the exhaust.Got a tow home & started to dismantle found the rear turbo had lost the turbine wheel completely & that cylinder 5 was wet (blown headgasket),removed engine to find the head gasket was blown badly on 5 ,but the bores of 4,5,6 were all o.k. no scratches or scores from the turbine ceramic. Also to both mine & my fathers amazement the oil pump had three screws undone by approx 2-3 turns ,enough to be visible to the naked eye. That was not the worst of it, found the front diff to have between .15mm-.36mm backlash & the crownwheel was floating & not pre-loaded! Diff doesn't appear to have been dismantled before.was able to setup diff to the specs in the manual for backlash & pre-load's after changing some shims. Has anyone else come across this with the front diff? Also a big thanks to wrxhoon for the advice on the engine removal u were right on saved me a heap of time & managed to break nothing.
