  5. Hi all it has come time to rebuild the front end of the car, have found some cracked CV boots & ball joint boots ,so thought it best to rebuild it all, then found a leaking shock absorber.Just after some feedback from what guys have previously done. Have ordered the CV boot kits from mr nissan. Have ordered the ball joints as well from nissan $$$ ,cant seem to find anywhere else that sell them. Got wheel bearing kits if required. Looking at doing the swaybar rubbers & links while here any suggestions.(whiteline) Probably go with upper link bush kit too any suggestions.(JJR,whiteline) Tension rods are aftermarket & still seem to be in good shape. With the shock absorber has anyone had any experience rebuilding ohlins shocks? If not will probably have to get a new set of shocks.$$$ anything i may have missed. Will post the part numbers up as i get them for the next sucker!! Part No.'s CV Boot Kits -Nissan NI-39241-05U85 NI-39241-05U86 NI-39741-05U25 NI-39741-05U89 Part numbers has been superceded i was told, the front left kit even comes with the 6 bolts for the driveshaft flange.
  6. As far as i know they never come with cruise control, unless it was an option or they had the same trouble i'm having, finding somewhere to locate it. And there is a light on the control panel that site on the steering wheel.
  7. Just after some ideas as to where i should mount the cruise control module for my r32 gtr? After checking it out found the most suitable place to be in front of the battery. Then got to thinking there might be enough room behind front guard or in behind the bumper support. Have also considered mounting it inside the car & running it off the Pedal. It's a Rostra unit so for those with them installed please let us know where you stuck it. Any pics would be great. Will get a pic of the unit up soon.
  8. wow thats even hotter. The brakes look to be carbon similiar to wat some of the ferrari's run. Better brakes & lighter car = quicker lap time at the nurb!

  11. Dunno if anyone has seen this yet but sounds pretty good,Courtney must have a superbly controlled foot!lol
  12. After a couple of long trips in the skyline i have found the need for a cruise control unit.Investigated the aftermarket options & found that about $800 would have one installed. Also found that the vacuum units are not that good so it would have to be fully electronic. Then thought about modifying a cruise control module to work in the skyline! Checked out how the holden VP-VR ones work & this is what i've come up with. My understanding of how the module works is that it gets a signal from the VSS, when told to hold that signal(SET) it starts to control the output cable forward or back to get the same signal from the VSS as it was SET at. The Res+ & Dec- only ask for a preset increase/decrease in the set signal. Just interested to see if anyone has managed to adapt a vn-vr cruise control module to run in there skyline? From what i can gather they require the following electrical connections: 1.Ground 2.12v+ 3.Speed signal-back of gearbox 4.On/Off -connected in series with the brake peadl switch, & mounted on dash 5.Res + -am/fm button on dash 6.Dec- -scan button on dash 7.Cruise Control on light, mounted next to switchs 8.Cruise in use light, mounted next to switchs(maybe have a dual color LED instead of 2 seperate LED's) 9.Incorporate a switch on the clutch pedal into cancel/resume for gear changes while in cruise control.(Going up steep hills & going down hills) I'm thinking about doing this and using the radio buttons on the dash as the Res+ & Dec- buttons then mounting a standby/in use/off light. Taking the speed signal from the back of the gearbox.(May need to be convereted) Can anyone with any experience or electrical knowledge help with this please? Not trying to be cheap here just after a great DIY that others may also be interested in & maybe stop a lot of accidental speeding fines. Can pick up the module & cable from a wreckers for $150, then make up a connection to mount onto the current throttle bracket. Bit of soldering & wiring ,mount the module & there we have it Cruise Control. Will attempt to scan the schematics later if that will help anyone. Those interested please PM or E-mail [email protected] Thanks All will update this thread with any relevant info.

  17. If all goes well will be bringing an in car camera setup, with a couple of cameras, to get the front & rear views while driving & maybe one of the driver at work. Takes a great picture & has fair sound,(searching for another mic atm). Can have seperate feeds or multiple (split screen) All gets downloaded onto a memory card as an .avi & can be converted from there. Maybe be able to lend/hire it if anyone is interested.
